so ive been on suboxone for a year and a half, so from the begining ive never liked double dosing in that taking some in the morning and then another dose at night ive just always felt like the 2nd dose made me feel wierd cant really describe cuz i havent done it in so long..but here in the past week it just feels like my dose is doing nothing doesnt even last the whole day, when i wake up the next morning i fell sick, i also have ulcers from pronlonged usage of a lot of things and my liver is definatly not in top shape actually not working well at all..so what im asking does anyone else experience their medicine working less and less and also if and when you take your 2nd dose do you feel wierd..?

i was just asking for a 2nd opinion becuase i just remember its always made feel that way taking a 2nd dose that is..and ive also came to the conclusion that it was probablly the fact that 5 days ago i dosed normally using the alcohol solution but for some reason i choked and spit it up after 5 mintues so i decided to re dose again and everyday after that ive felt like shit but today after i dosed i felt fine so maybe it was just the fact that i took so much 5 days ago compared to what i normally do and it rasied my tolerance, cuz i do remember reading somewhere that can stay in your sysem for 5 days..and to the wierd feeling the only way i can describe it as a kinda sureal feeling like really uncomfortable in my mind and body, its been so long since i have a hard time explaining

Buprenorphine (the opiate in the Suboxone brand preparation) has a pretty long half life, so yes it can stay in your system for five days and contribute to tolerance.

It's not that different from other long-acting opiates. Minus the whole partial agonist thing, but at low doses you get some of the active metabolite, norbuprenorphine, which is a full-agonist, it feels the same as morphine to me.

^^exactly the key is to small dosages. add in benzo + dexedrine with .5-1mg suboxone, and i feel ahmazing. if i have to compare it to other opiates i say it is a mix between tramadol and morphine.

ya i figure that out after the first couple months i usually take 2-3 mgs..but are yall sayin that it works even better if you can get down to .5 or 1mg..and if i dose that low i should in theory be able to dose in the morning and at night n feel straight all day..?

It depends on your tolerance level and how long the buprenorphine is staying in your system. While it certainly does have a long half life, how long that half life is exactly is pretty variable.

I'm going to edit the title of this thread to reflect that questions regarding dosing (for easier searching in the future).

when i first started subs, too much had me over the toilet for hours. after a while, i got used to the nauseous feeling and started to feel more "normal" as a result of tolerance, but then subs also lost their ability to make me really happy (not quite high, a but still really happy) benedryl helps with the nausea and give's bup what it is missing

ive never got the really bad nausea but i have mixed dimenhydrinate a couple times but never got much out of it...i take it becuase my life is so much more managable while on it, but it seems like you never get the same results it seems like its always just a little different..but have you ever tried taking your dose in the alcohol solution..?

in my opinion, after staying away from all opiates for awhile, a 2mg dose of bupe (snorted) feels pretty similiar to an opiate high, (morphine, heroin) like high, heavier buzz...but after 2 more times i just lose any euphoria bupe gives me. All it does for me now is act as an anti depressant and gives me the energy in the morning, however i feel too much bupe at once , for me even 8mg causes irritability and anxiety...bupe is super potent compared to other opiates, i stopped doing a bundle a day heroin habit, and started suboxone, i sniffed 2mg and was high 12hrs puking like i did major dope...but for the opiate nieve person bupe can be dangerous..1mg is enough for someone new

it definitely sounds like your tolerance is up. perhaps dont double dose at night? just take half your regular dose before bed so you dont feel sick in the morning? try to ween yourself off of it as well seeing as you have pretty serious health issues.
good luck

ya prolly was just a tolerance increase but i dont usually double dose, i was takin my dose had it in for like 3 min and choked, like just started couging radomly..so i figured since i barley had it in i should go ahead and dose again...but i been straight for the past couple of days and also to how i feel particularly in the mornings and just some days in general prolly has more to do with my health problems, and i have tried being completly clean, was for about 8 to 9 months 2 years ago but until they find out exactly what it is i get more benefit being on suboxone than being off

It's common. If you're not an IV user, the second dose barely does anything to you.
It gives extra-life to the duration, but mainly keeps you on autopilot. Barely adds any euphoria, if at all.

Correct. That's what I was saying. Redosing opiates generally doesn't increase the euphoria, or "high". It just extends the duration. While this isn't true for all opioids, it certainly is for buprenorphine.
