First time on Xanax will I black/pass out??

So my buddy gave me a pill of Xanax (its a 1mg) Ive NEVER done it... This weekend going to be going to my buddies hes having a little get together. We will probably play some drinking games. I always make myself mixed drinks.

But my question is. If I have only half the pill (.5mg) and 1 or 2 mixed drinks will I black out since I have no tolerance?
I have no tolerance, fairly skinny ( 5"6 weight about 130)

will that .5 make me go overboard and blackout? or am I overreacting and I would need the whole pill?
 
Well, we can't tell you for sure, as people don't all respond the same - but benzos and alcohol, espeically for the first time, tend to lead to blacking out/being completely wasted/doing silly stuff, so be careful!

0.5mg and a couple of drinks sounds pretty sensible but both benzos and booze make it hard to stay sensible, so I would be alert to the fact that you may well end up having more of either or both!

I always think its best to try new things on their own first - maybe just have a few drinks with your mates like normal, and save the xanax for a time when you are not drinking? That way you can get to grips with what it is like and what doses suit you :)
 
Yeah I also think it is best not to mix these two the first time. It's not a huge amount but it is a combination that can easily go wrong. The first time I usedXanax 0.5mg was more than enough and I felt overly drowsy.
 
Indeed, xanax is pretty potent stuff.. plus you probably won't remember the experience if you take it while drinking too, which would seem to be a bit of a waste!
 
Xanax is short acting and pretty potent. It's a must have in any serious drug user's first aid kit. To answer your question, it depends on how much alcohol you end up drinking. Xanax will definitely bring the threshold way down on blacking out. I recommend you try it alone first. But, at worst you'll wake up and wonder what the fuck happened.
 
definitely dont mix the xanax with alcohol your first time at least. you will be forgetting parts of the night..trust me i took 1.5mgs of klonopin my first time and drank cuz i thought i wasnt gonna feel it and i dont remember shitt that night.. take just the xanax first and see how you feel.. one mg by itself should be fine but maybe take half first see how you feel then 45mins after take the other half.

.5mgs -1mg will have you going good and won't make you pass out. my first time i took 4mgs and blacked and passed the fuck out
 
Last time I had xanax was a couple of weeks ago. I took 1mg after drinking the equivalent of ~3 bottles of wine or more (do not do this). I don't take benzo's regularly, once every couple of months. My mate who did the same thing was totally retarded but I was pretty much ok :(

thanks for the quick reply guys. Ya Im more and more leaning towards not doing the xanax that night. But from your guys' experiences the first time you guys tried xanax+alcohol with .5 mg is usually a safe dosage as long as you dont drink too much booze after right?

Sorry about the question just asking because I didint see too many people on here post about how they mixed it with mixed drinks (ex. long island ice tea)
 
I've always had a natural tolerance to GABA drugs so the first time I took Xanax with alcohol it was 1mg with a few drinks and I felt relatively drunk. I don't think 0.5mg with 2-3 drinks will be too much although you will feel messed up. I don't think you'll "black out" but then again, your hearing this from someone who has a tolerance.
