Wow.
I must say the only decent band in that listing is Municipal Waste, although they almost sound exactly like Suicidal.

Jeez, what is it with people... tastes differ, ok? and none of these bands are cheesy even some of them are in the Nu-Metal spectrum but still not cheesy.

Metalheads... gimme a break :/

Considering that you made this comment even though he listed Neurosis, I must say your opinion doesn't really amount to much.

The Faceless
Fleshwrought
Meshuggah(They. Are. God.)
Through the Eyes of the Dead
Fit for an Autopsy
The Black Dahlia Murder
After the Burial
All Shall Perish
Whitechapel(Last two albums only)
Job For A Cowboy (Genesis and Ruination only, though)
Sumatra
Periphery
And Hell Followed With
The Contortionist
Enfold Darkness
Wretched

That should be a good start.

I must be one of the only people to have finished high school who doesn't currently or at some point has worshipped meshuggah. I don't really get the hype, listening to this band is like reading lines of binary code.

I wasn't really into them that much until I started getting really, really high and listening to their ObZen album. A lot of their songs sounded samesie to me, I couldn't differentiate them. But then marijuana helped me see the light.

I think the reason why I love them so much is because I never know what's going to happen next. Their music is so complicated it always takes me by surprise.
Oh, and they are so deep and enveloping.

Here is some real death metal, , awesome and fairly new... 'Hate Eternal, phoenix amongst the ashes' 'Tombs, Totality ' kind of black metal but good , 'Cavallera conspiracy, blunt force trauma'. All good releases from 2011...

Ill have to look into hate eternal, not the first time Ive heard them talked up.

Also, not death metal at all but since this thread has strayed wantonly, this links to a video Abbath from Immortal did for guitar world. Though Immortal, reformed or no, are not as ground breaking (or grimly gaunt) as they once were, this video never gets old for me between Abbath's: a) sick riffs, b) big assed Viking conversational tenor, c) compulsively grim visage. I love how his face automatically twists into these demonic grimaces when he starts playing.

I don't think I'll just list heavy bands, as I tend to prefer different genres (ie, lots of 'djent' and post-metal...some Patton stuff, Converge, etc.). But up your alley is the newest Athiest release, "Jupiter". The last Cynic record ("Traced in Air") is also reasonably new and amazing.
