First Time Tramadol

I am going to try tramadol for the first time and I was wandering what is a good recreational dose to feel good effects?, I have no tolerance what so ever. Also I would like to smoke some cannabis while on Tramadol, is this safe and does it potentiate effects of both?. Thanks
 
cannabis is safe, youll probably enjoy it more. personally i prefer not to smoke on opiates, but thats just me, my friends call me crazy.
safe dose to start would be 100-150mg. if you dont feel anything from that dose, you can try taking another 50mg an hour/hour and a half later, but if you dont feel 200mg without tolerance tramadol just isnt for you. good luck!
 
^I agree with the above. When I was deep into a tramadol addiction, I would typically take 300 mg immediately upon waking up. But it's best to start with half that - it still works, and in some ways it works better with less.
 
Smoking marijuana would be safe, I would start at 100-150mg of tramadol. I started at 150mg when I use to take the shit and I was totally fine. Don't exceed 400mg a day though because then you're at risk for seizures. I mean I was taking 800mg plus and being on an ssri... that was really dumb and dangerous and it was all cool at first but then I did have a seizure. It was not fun. And tolerance builds fast on this... really in the end I found out it wasn't even worth it. Don't make it an everyday thing because if you do soon you won't get high from it but rather just take it just because your body needs it (well wants as well).
 
nice replies thanks, but what about the timing? like tramadol first then cannabis other way round.
 
I smoked cannabis at the same time I was taking tramadol and it was fine... it was also no different if I had tramadol first or weed first instead of having them at the same time. I did notice I felt the weed a little more when I took tramadol on my first experience but then again maybe that was just me. Well good luck and tell us how it goes.

THIS THIS THIS. the risk of seizure on tramadol is very real.
ive been on the brink of one once after a 450mg single dose, not fun at all.
even years after that i had the nerve to take 400mg and then a tic of molly a few hours later, stupid. basically, tramadol has a lot more contraindications than a regular opiate.
and to clarify when i said 'tramadol may not be for you' in my last post, it seems like half the people who try it dont feel a damn thing off it, keep taking more, and get sick, so if you arent feeling the drug at the levels suggested, you probably wont feel it no matter how much you take.
 
I consider myself lucky. I once had 850mg over six hours. :(

I find 200-300mg to be my sweet spot but I have some tolerance. I'd say 150mg for a first dose.
 
i quit dope and opiates all together back in april, but got a RX for tramadol a month ago- i was getting a pretty decent amount of the 50mg pills- i had heard that seizures are real, but i definently took a huge risk with my scripts- i took 1500mgs a day on many occasions and was drinking while doing this- i completely lost touch of reality and i actually had withdrawals when i quit last week- i was very lucky i didnt have a seizure- out of several weeks of doing these high high doses of tramadol, i really can only remember having one solid hour of a decent nod high- STAY AWAY from TRAMADOL, it was a very dirty feeling screwing with the drug for the last month- i will never take that shit again!
 
I'm not a fan of tramadol and similar drugs. But I was once prescribed this to alleviate withdrawal symptoms (totally dumb idea...). It didn't help at all. I have been on benzodiazepines for over 7 yrs and 1600mg of tramadol then caused neither any help for withdrawal nor caused seizures. Of course the dose wasn't taken at once.

What I mean is it's safe to have a muscle relaxant when using tramadol. I read reports of injecting 2 grams of tramadol daily which I don't really believe but it might be possible with simultaneous use of anti-seizure drug like clonazepam.

As for the starting dose it'd be the same as for codeine - 150-200mg (though with codeine it's not a case of a risk of seizures...).

I would go for 200mg for the first time... I was taking tramadol daily something over one month, my tolerance built up quickly, I ended up like taking 700mg right after I had waken up, finishing other 1500-2000mg till afternoon, usually took some more during evening... I dont want to disappreciate risk of seizures, but I personally did several times 5000-6000mg in one day and didnt experienced one. Be safe.
 
^ the risk of seizures is very real - you were lucky, one of our regular posters has a seizure on a prescribed dose of tramadol so be very, very careful and I would not recommend anyone exceeding 400mg in 24 hours.

Also be aware that tramadol has serotonergic effects (increases serotonin levels in the brain) so you shouldn't really take it with anything else that might also do this as it can cause serotonin syndrome which can be deadly - this includes SSRIs, MDMA, DXM and I have known someone have serotonin syndrome combining it with LSD..

All in all it is a very complex drug pharmacologically. Not meaning to scare you at all OP, enjoy your experience but be aware of the potential dangers.
 
Tramadol is no different that APAP to me. Just a tiny bit stronger that tylenol.

it does absolutely nothing for my aches and pains.
 
find some klonopin/diazepam before you take some. the high alone sort of blows, and who the fuck ever wants to have a seizure? i find it adds nicely to other stimulating opiates like oxy/bup, but alone it is worse than codeine imo.
 
To lessen the chances of a seizure attack, I would never go above 50mg per day. I know it aint much, but still, I DO NOT trust this drug. And doctors even claim that it is more safe and less addictive than Vicodins, but I have to strongly dissagree on this...Would rather take Vicodins than Tramadol.

I would think of Tramadol's side-effect to be not much fun at all, kinda like being on Darvon....

My Grandpa takes these for years, and no problems with him having these seizures on a 50mg dose. And he is about 90 yrs old too....

I usually take 50mg per week....Thats it....

This is worth repeating. A lot more drugs lower the seizure threshold than some people think, even opiates do, and I know mixing tramadol with traditional opiates is a common practice, but caution should still be exercised.
 
Mixing ANY drugs with Tramadol or with ANY drug is a NO NO...Period. Just keep it simple. Do not mix.
 
Heres the scoop

OK, Start with 100 mg. You might feel good at this dose, if not take One Tramadol every hour until you reach your goal. For a first timer you'll only need a few. The risk of seizure is only Less Than 1% so dont get paranoid. Weed goes perfect with Trammys so smoke up! And remember it takes a few hours for the drug to convert.
