Hi All,

I've just received some L-Tyrosine.

I just want to know if anyone else here has used it be4, and what are their thoughts about it etc.

Like Dosage, etc

Thanks in advance :)

I used to take a cap daily (can't remember the dosage though) because I thought it might help me get higher on meth or help me recover quicker or something, but I never ntoiced any difference whatsoever, even after taking it daily for quite some time.

Footscrazy this is because you have to use it for a long period off time well thats the protocol used for bodybuilding purposes so im guessing it would be the same :)

There were times where I used it daily for months, I just figured that in terms of what I was wanting it to do (lower my meth tolerance, basically) it wasn't working because tolerance isn't really about not having enough dopamine, but a downregulation in receptors and your body becoming more efficient in removing the drug, but I might be wrong.

One cap a day? If they're 500mg then I'd suggest much more. I take ten caps daily, for the past week. I have the Twinlab brand.

I hear L-Dopa is much better

^ My friend took L-Dopa and felt really shit, it's something about it raising dopamine all over the brain instead of just in the areas you want that makes you feel really dodgy.

When my g/f came off her Zoloft (antidepressants) she started taking L-Tyrosine. From memory she took 1g in milk twice a day.

Helped keep her dopamine balanced as she reduced her dosage of Zoloft until she was off Zoloft and then weened off L-Tyrosine.

I bought her a kilo of it from the US for about $15 shipped over. The package wasn't opened by customs either!!

The protein suppliment I ingest on a daily basis for athletic activities contains high levels of this compound and when dosing 3-4 times a day along with high protein low carb nutritious meals I definitely feel something but feel on top of the world on a daily basis even when going all el' naturale ;) haha and considering the suppliments and other compound in my protein suppliment which is the most expensive but from using various products its by far the best.

I find it works well for about a month max if you're taking it everyday...probably less.

Seems to lose all of its "effects" if you're taking it over extended periods. This is with 2 x 500mg doses a day.

If I'm really tired or if I've used meth is when it works best. If I'm using dexamp at low doses regularly, it'll get rid of any tiredness from WD if I want to take a couple weeks off.

lol hate to break it to you dude but high doses have been shown to reduce dopamine levels IIRC

I ordered pure L-dopa and at 200mgs it made me a little jittery. I've also tried L-tyrosine with no noticeable effects. I have heard that taking L-Dopa can be toxic as well, both compounds didnt feel like they were doing anything therapeutic

No you are correct on that footsy. Your brain desensitizes itself to dopamine, and adding more dopamine won't fix the problem as the receptors aren't responding correctly when the neurotransmitter binds to them. The body also does become more adept at increasing metabolism and clearance of the drug; I've seen studies from the 60's and 70's showing that in barbiturate addicts their clearance of the drug from the body increases greatly compared to consumption of the drugs in non-chronic users.

This is exactly the reason why other dopaminergic substances just aren't as recreational as others are. It's all about where in the brain the receptors are that are being activated, and how they are being activated as different agonists can create different conformations of the actual receptor itself. It seems that drugs that release dopamine so it can bind naturally to the receptor (though in much larger amounts and at a greater frequency) are the best, whereas drugs that are direct agonists don't usually have euphoric effects but may be emetics or have potential useful applications in Parkinson's disease and even possibly schizophrenia.

^^^ As usual, ever the educator M_B! =D Love it.

I was under the impression it's often given in combination (as in, combined in the same pill) as certain precursors - L-Dopa and 5HTP come to mind - to aid (greater) transmission across the BBB?*

*Could quite possibly be wrong about this of course, atm just going off a sleep deprived, non-referenced memory. :/

I don't know what you're taking it for, but I took it as a possible anxiety treatment and mood stabiliser. I've just referred back to my notes of the experiments and I took 1g of it and didn't experience very much at all. It had a slight calming effect which may have been placebo. No effect on anxiety or energy levels, motivation. I never tried any dose higher than that.

I did quite a bit of experimenting with amino acids and tried different ones in combo. My results showed that they don't really have much psychoactive effect at least at the high end of the normal recommended dosages. I'm not sure how well they cross the blood brain barrier and/or are used by the brain to be honest.

As a dietary food supplement you might get some health benefits from taking it though.

I've recently started using Tyrosine after Meth and it has made a BIG difference - BUT: The first time i tried it I bought these cheap dodgy tyrosine tablets that were only 200 or 300mg and a poor brand. They did nothing to help my comedowns so i wrote it off as pointless. However a friend paid about double for some Musashi Tyrosine powder and insisted i should try it - I did, and I haven't looked back. The dose is far higher (a gram i think from memory) and i suspect the contents are higher quality. Long story short is that it has made a big difference and its now part of my post meth harm reduction routine (which basically also includes sleep, the right food, gentle exercise). My meth comedowns can be extreme - like debilatating - but I love my meth so i've put a lot of energy into figuring how to use it in a sustainable way. So yeah i recommend it, but get good quality and a high dose.

Cheers

Been off the pipe for about 2weeks now.

Dosed 2grams of L-tyrosine this morning with some protein shake powder.

Boy did i get a rush. It felt like I had smoked a few ppoints of ice.

Solid Rush for at least 3hrs. Clenching of the mouth etc etc.

Has anyone has had this happened to them?

No, but I have done exactly that many times without any definitely noticeable effects. Sure you didn't drop some Ice in there haha?

No, I am certain I did not tainted my L-tyrosine with some ICE.

In the likely case you didn't, would you be susceptible to placebo do you think? I used to live with a guy who would get "euphoric rushes" from 5-HTP, as well as similar feelings from taking SAM-e and once again when he started taking L-Tyrosine.

erm. Yes maybe i'd be susceptible to placebo if i wasn't a full time crackhead for almost 2yrs....

I know what i felt. It was def not placebo.

I was highhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
