Is snorting heroin anything like snorting hydromorphone?

Just curious - because if i was to ever get heroin i don't think i'd ever IV it, i'd only snort it.. How close are it's effects (when insufflated) to hydromorphone?
 
Hmm, I don't have an exact answer to your question, but I found the effects of snorted oxymorphone to be very similar to those of snorted heroin. I was only lucky enough to have hydromorphone via IV in the emergency room, and since it took away days of really horrible pain, I don't know how they'd compare.

My guess is the -morphones seem to be pretty noddy, much like some good powder H.
 
Sorry to double post - i'm nodding out right now and my jaw is clenching like mad.. what's up with this? Haven't taken my xanax in two days because i haven't felt the need to.. (I need to save them anyway since i used 3 days worth too much already).. Is jaw clenching normal on opiates?
 
ah. well either way i came to the conclusion drugs aren't going to help me with depression. Plus just hearing someone asking me to email them made me feel extremely paranoid
 
no biggie man, i just wanted to share my story with you in the hope that it might have helped you, but it looks like you weren't to serious about it. i saved my life by doing exactly what you suggested, very carefully however, but your taking about using dope and the like here so i guess you got it figured out for yourself, good luck my friend, and god bless

How long have you been using opiates for depression? Also, you wanna use hydromorphone & heroin for this? Dont you think these opiates are way too strong & very addicting?

Also, have you tried the lesser opiates like hydrocodone & codeine for your depression or did you start with the heavy duty stuff?

So... again; i'm not using them for depression? I'm confused as to why you are asking this when you're quoting your answer.
 
I've snorted both and from personal experience and my opinion I think snorting heroin is way better then snorting the hydromorphone. When you crush up hydromorphone pills there is so much more powder that it's better to just IV it. With the heroin it's much easier to snort.
 
They're both powerful, sedating opiates. Heroin is a prodrug for morphine, which hydromorphone is very similar to in terms of potency.

Heroin is going to, at least in theory, provide a better rush. There are people who will disagree with me on this one, I think its really a matter on personal opinion TBH.
 
when i snorted hydromorphone it wasnt anything intense i did notice i would zone out into deep deep thought was nice but not much of a rush. suppose it doesnt compare to i.v. everyone says i.v. dilauded is the sht. completely new animal verses just snorting. that reminds me i had 50 of the 4 mg stolen from me by a supposed "friend" more like "fein":X i still wanna smash in his face.

Because you obviously were thinking of using for depression or was trying to use for depression & it didnt work for you as you were using the harder more addicting opiates. Just wondered how long you were using it for depression, is this such a hard question for you to answer or is it embarrassing?
 
I've never done hydromorphone or heroin;

That said, I would imagine they would be very similar. Hydromorphone is a very powerful narcotic. As somewhat mentioned already, the topic of debate would really be about the rush each drug provides
 
They are both very sedating and while hydromorphone provides a very powerful rush, it isn't nearly as intense when snorted. The high from heroin insufflated is more euphoric than hydromorphone insufflated. I can't really compare the rush, hard for me to say which provides a more powerful one. This is all just my opinion.
