Possible Clonazepam Withdrawal

Hi Everyone,

I have a question about clonazepam withdrawal.

I usuallly take 0.5 mg - 0.75 mg 3 -4 times a month.

On Wednesday June 1st I took 0.5 mg at 11:30 am, and last night at 3:30 am I took 0.5 mg.

I have a stressful situation coming up on Tuesday June 7th and I am planning to take 0.75 in the early afternoon.

Can this uptake in my clonazepam dosage cause withdrawal. I hear all of the horror stories about withdrawal, and I really want to avoid it. I just take it ocassionally, maximum 6 times a month, maximum 1 mg for stressfull situations because I suffer from mild anxiety.

Any input would be welcome. Just found this forum, and it looked like a good place to get some answers.

Thanks a lot everyone.

Peace

No taking it those times will not cause withdrawal. Just dont get carried away and start taking it more often. If you can keep it under control and be disciplined youl be fine. You need to be taking it pretty regularly to get addicted and 1mg is not much at all anyway. When you hear of intense benzo w/ds that's people who were taking a decent dose and possible abusing it.

Taking doses like 0.5-1mg roughly 6 times a month (every 4 days or so) will not put you into withdrawals. Don't worry, you are taking low doses and using it responsibly. Your taking it exactly as it is supposed to be taken. I wish I had the ability to use it as-needed like that.

when i frist started experimenting with benzos i would only take them 1-2 times a week, then it came to 3-4 times and then over winter break i took klonopin and xanax for 3 weeks straight.. and i definitely had rebound anxiety, insomnia, and depression. but no even 1mg or 2mgs wouldn't cause you to go into w/ds.. you gotta work at it to become addicted, just like you gotta work to get sober.

Well, if you are taking 2mg a day, every day, for a long period of time (for instance like 3 months or more) then you can definitely go into some mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms. "Potential" RLS, muscle pain, spasms, tremors, depression, anxiety, insomnia. But these symptoms would probably be mild, the more noticeable ones would being anxiety, insomnia & depression. But if you've been taking 2mg daily for years then those physical withdrawals would be apparent at a much larger degree if you don't properly taper. The muscle problems (convulsions, spasms, tremor) being the worse. But I'm talking years

Thanks for the replies guys. Looks like I can keep taking clonazepam as I have. I find it really helps for stressful situations. It just takes the edge off.

Hey guys. I took 0.75 mg today at 11:30 am

Do you think it will be alright if I wait until Saturday June 11th to take 0.75 to 1 mg as I have a first date. lol!

you're fine...as long as you take days off where you dont take any klonopin, than you should avoid addiction on the most part...but idk you personally and you could have an addictive personality, be under alot of stress, ect....but for the most part you sound like you should be fine

Definitely not going to cause withdrawal symptoms. The general rule is taking benzos every day for two weeks will cause withdrawal symptoms.

Ok I went over my limit a bit for Clonazpeam in June.

Do you guys think this schedule is ok:

June 1: 0.5 mg

June 3: 0.5 mg

June 7: 0.75 mg

June 13: 0.5 mg

June 17: 0.75 mg

June 21: 0.75 mg

June 24: 0.5 mg

June 27: 0.5 mg

I have only taken it twice a week maximum this month so hopefully I will be okay. I've basically taken 4.75 mg in total this month. I am going to take a break from taking it for a few weeks I think. Hopefully I won't get any withdrawal symptoms.

Thanks

You sound very sensible to me. %)

Just taking it as and when needed and not upping the doseage seems the way it should be done.

I wish i could have been like that....although before i started abusing benzos i would use just 10mg valium 1 time per week,i did this for around 5 months before i started to get silly with it and began taking massive doses every weekend!
