^ I have the same one and its an excellent scale for the price... and in fact that link is even cheaper than amazon where I bought mine... came out to about 30 dollars and I just got normal shipping... it arrived 2 days later...

I've got the same scale

and I don't really trust it. I've got to get about 8 or 9 mg in the bowl before it even registers. The way I use it is I know how many mg it reads for a good dose of whatever once I try whatever. I need to get some known weights. Not so bad if you're measuring half a gram or so, but when you're trying to get say 20mg. I don't think its too accurate.

Don't forget you need to take the bowl off the scale, add substance and then replace it to get an accurate reading. Doing otherwise will not yield accurate results with anything less than a $1000 set of scales.

hi,

i've been looking for a scale in order to measure doses of chemicals like 2C-E (so like doses 10-25mg). would this one be any good? i suppose it won't be really accurate when measuring doses less than 10mg, but can it be useful for the doses i need? (>10mg)

It's likely to be as good as any other budget scale. I suggest measuring out 5-10 doses, dissolving in alcohol and then using an accurate syringe so that any errors between weighing doses are reduced.

It's called titrimetric or volumetric dosing if you want to know more, and is a very valuable technique.

actually i did liquid measuring before with 2c-e, but the alcoholic solution i made somehow gave me more nausea on several occasions, more than simply swallowing the powder parachuted in a cigarette paper (or even insufflated).
also i want to try rectally as the ROA for my next trip and i think that this will propably won't go well with an alcoholic solution (any experiences? afaik ethanol bioavailability is highly increased when taken parenteral) and i think a solution made with water will go bad soon if not stored sterile due to bacteria contamination.

You can add a small amount of benzyl alcohol to water to make a bacteria free solution for storage, saves you needing ethanol and is even safe for IV use.

Customers who bought those scales also bought Pihkal =D

Transform, where can you get benzyl alcohol? If it's allowed to ask...

Can be bought from ebay or other online chemical suppliers, not sure about where you are but afaik it's not controlled or watched anywhere so you shouldn't have much trouble.

The one in the picture I posted earlier, I find to be extremely accurate.... I have some random things I weigh to check it and its always the exact same... I'm very happy with it considering I only paid 25 bucks for it and another 5 dollars shipping... it showed up in my mailbox 2 days later... I feel pretty confident using it for weighing down to about a milligram honestly.... if your very precise you can literally pour about a milligram every second and watch it come to the mark and stop pouring..... (pouring = very gently tapping powder out of a baggie)... idk if I'm supposed to say the name of the website I bought it from but it rhymes with glamazon dot com lol =D

Don't forget your scale will be much more accurate if you remove the dish from the balance, pour in substance, then replace the dish.

I like the American Weigh DIA-20 a lot more than the Gemini 20 and it's cheaper.

I don't need to do this with mine..... although I still do anyway just to doublecheck for safety's sake.... I pour in my substance to the right weight.... I then take the sample and set it aside.... re-tare my scale with the empty dish... then remove the dish, dump the previously measured sample into the dish and place the dish back on the scale and its always the same as the first number I poured to.... within a milligram anyway...

Also with very small amounts I tare the dish... then add a 10g weight... let that weigh out... then add points (milligrams) from there.... and then recheck with the technique I just described earlier with the addition of the weight..... just remeber not to eat the weight... lol =D
