dexedrine first time dosing

hi, couldnt find any other thread in the search that answers my question. if someone does find a link that does and i missed it feel free to post it.

i use to take vyvanse recreationally about once a week using 80-100mg. i havnt used any amphetamines in two weeks and might be getting dexedrine,most likely IR.

so my question is kind of two parted: 1. whats the diffrence between the feelings of vyvanse and dexedrine? i know there essentially the same thing just vyvanse has the lysine attatched, but everyone ive read seems to favor dexedrine greatly over vyvanse. is there any reason beside the fact that you can use diffrent ROA's with dexedrine?

and 2. seeing my vyvanse doses were 80-100mg and i havnt taken any amphetamines for 2 weeks, what would be a good starting dose for dexedrine? recreationally that is.

Well 70mg Vyvanse = 30mg Adderall = 22.5mg Dexedrine. If you were taking 105mg Vyvanse that would be equivalent to 45mg Adderall & 33.75mg Dexedrine. So try & figure it out between those doses. I'd have to say that if you were taking 100mg of Vyvanse you'd need about 30-35mg to catch a buzz. The high will be more intense considering you haven't used in a couple weeks.

also how does the comedown for dexedrine compare to vyvanse? anything 80mg and up for vyvanse was pretty unpleasant for me. lethargy for like 1 0r 2 days and basically no sleep that night without some kind of aid. say i take 25-30mg dexedrine how is the comedown without any benzos/sleep aids??

dexedrine comedowns are manageable
dexedrine doesn't last as long as vyvanse/is able to be snorted (and IMO, coming from someone with a decent amphetamine tolerance...its a waste to orally dose amphetamines, but thats just me...)
i'd say 30mg snorted shoudl get you good, or 30-40 oral.

I believe the opposite, that snorting amphetamines is a waste. ADD stimulant medications are meant to be taken orally and that is how you get the most of it, not a short quazi rush. Even with methamphetamine snorting is a waste. Crystal is meant to be smoked. It was purposely manufactured to be smoked (I don't think that's true but I just like to think that).

darn got adderall ir instead =/ really was hoping for dexedrine.

so kind of a new question lol. i plan on taking 40mg orally later today. how long will the "good" effects last? i know adderall ir is suppose to last for 3-6 hours but i know that doesnt account for the euphoric effects. vyvanse is 9-12 hours...but the euphoria is like 4 hours for me.

i would like it to last atleast around 3-4 hours before i start to feel crappy. would taking the 40mg be good enough or should i redose with another 20 or 40mg later?

If you're gonna eat it i'd say around 2-3 hours depending on how much food is in your stomach. Since you do vyvanse frequently and its longer acting, if I were you I'd snort some to get a feel for the semi-rush that's quite different from what you're used to. Redosing orally usually doesn't help much in terms of getting more euphoria. Maybe try eating 30mg, wait until u feel pretty good(maybe an hour after you eat it), and then blow 20mg. Or 25 then 15 if ur concerned about it being too much. That should give you ~3 hours of feeling great, and then maybe another 2 before you come down/ feel crappy.

As for the difference in the high now that it's addy vs dex, the 25% of adderall that's l-amphetamine usually gives less euphoria and more peripheral effects. It may feel 'speedier', like if you drank a cup of coffee while already on your vyvanse. If you have any concerns about high blood pressure, or think the speedy, possibly jittery feeling will be uncomfortable, consider lowering the equivalent dose a bit.

Oh and to answer your earlier question about the comedown, I'd say it'll feel similar to your past experiences, maybe slightly more intense, but way shorter. Drink a beer/shot or 2 and you won't even feel a comedown on that dose.

ia ate the two 20's and didnt redose and it worked for a good 3 hours like you said so i was satisfied. it did feel like vyvanse pretty much but quicker onset and there was something else that felt deifferent but i cant put my finger on it. maybe it was speedier but too little to notice that much. ill probably snort some next time. also 40mg adderall is suppose to be equivalent to 80mg vyyvanse but i actually thought 80mg vyvanse feels slightly stronger than the 40mg adderall. not sure why this is so i might up the dose next time

Actually 80mg of Vyvanse is equivalent to roughly 35mg, not 40mg but pretty close.

ahh ok gotcha. then 40mgs adderall shouldve felt stronger than 80mg vyvanse. maybe its just me
