Okay so my friend (this is not me and not for legal reasons) and I were shooting some mdpv and chilling not the usual but cool to chill and tweak as we hadnt hung out in a while so the next day I see him is hand is pretty much limp like if you touched your fingers to your thumb and let it hang it hand is now always limp and he says theres no feeling in it. Now he says his girl slept on his arm and when he woke up it had no sensation in it and he couldnt move it he still cant but my question is could this have been a messed up shot the girl sleeping on his arm a combo of both? I know once blood stops going to a part of the body and it losses oxygen the area tends to die. I have met 1 other person who had the exact same condition so what do you think caused it and do you think he will regain any mobility also he is thinking of going to the hospital to try and score painkillers for it I suggested not seeking and just getting it checked out but I doubt he will listen. Im generally concerned for him he has a tendency to get caught in quicksand on thing goes bad then another struggle ensues and down and down ect ect.

He needs to get it checked out, seeking painkillers or not, that's a medical issue that a medical professional needs to, at the very least, check out.

We're not doctors and can't diagnose your friend's issue
however, your friend needs to seek medical attention ASAP if he still doesn't have feeling in his hand.

I was just wondering if anyone has seen this before Im worried for him because my other friend that had similar condition had it a few years before I met him to and he said it barely improved but he was a rehab buddy so I cant really ask him anything about it. My main concern is that its fucked with just dead tissue/nervs/muscle its just limp and mostly useless up to the forearm. He didnt want to go today but really he should have went yesterday when I told him to...man if I take him and he trys to get painkillers insted of letting them treat him im going to be pissed...

Even if we had seen something like that before...it doesn't mean we can diagnose what's happening to your friend. Have them seek medical attention as soon as possible. Let your friend know that this is serious and not a time to "score painkillers". If your friend has damaged their hand, they may end up losing their hand if they don't seek medical advice.

Honestly I think im more concerned about it than he is I tried getting him to go but he was getting herbs at an undetermined time and hanging out with said girlfriend so he asked me if I would take him tomorrow I know he needs medical attention but he simply doesnt care at all or doesnt think its that big a deal and will simply get better Im very concerned but theres only so much I can do for him aside from nagging and giving him a ride to the hospital tomorrow. Thank you for the advice if anyone has anything more specific Im just really worried and want to know what it could be if it helps that day and prolly into that night and next day I would guess he stuck himself with the same rig about 50 times (not registering / missing / getting in then losing it and it eventually clogging so it doesnt draw back) I know he should always use clean rigs or 2-3 uses a rig but we'll get a 10pk I'll just do 3-5 shots and hit every time and then he'll use the 4 and throw them out then use the last one until its basically broken its disgusting I hope whatever happens from this he decides to slow down a lot.

+1. I hope you realize the implications of necrosis; if his hand is, in fact, dead and becomes gangrenous his life is at stake. Get him to the ER.

If it was infected would he feel anything or would anything look different or is the hand being limp enough Im trying to convince him to go now but he said hes going to pass out and tomorrow we would go thanks for your help all this guy has been my best friend since highschool but lately I just cant stand how wacked out hes getting all the time destroying his body and mind it makes me so sad to see him like that.

If his hand has not recovered nerve function and proper circulation after 24 hours, he should be at the ER.

The story sounds similar to what I myself expierienced last year.
I had 80Mg Temazepam and did H.
I fell asleep in my computerchair, for mostly 1,5 hours.
When i woke up my arm felt like it was sleeping.
I lost the "upward" function of my hand.
My hand was hanging and i couldn't lift it anymore.
I thought that it would pass away after a good night of sleep, but in the morning i couldn't lift my hand, nor use my thumb at all.
I decided to go to the doctor and it turned out i suffered nerve damage by crushing the nerve on the inside of my arm, between my arm and the chair.
The doctor told me it was called "abrassion d' amour" in french, or a lovers arm.
Indeed lovers that fall asleep in eachothers arms suffer the same damage from time to time.

That sounds sweet, right?
But it took more than 4 months and extended use of a brace for my nerve to heal again...
And i consider myself lucky that all healed up well.

My advice: TAKE YOUR FRIEND TO SEE A DOCTOR NOW!
You need your hands in life.
this was the first time i ever suffered real damage in all my years of drug-use and abuse, but it opened my eyes.
I'm a fanatic musician, and i couldn't play any instrument for a long time.
Don't be stupid and think this will come to pass just like that, for in my case it was only nerve damage, if bloodvessels are damaged as well, you're friend's in even bigger trouble.

1. Bring him to a doctor.

This may be his condition, but we are not doctors. My friend that had what is in the link needed a special brace, and to go to physical therapy for a 6+ months.

Here is the wiki page.

Again, his condition can be better, worse, or the same as the condition in the links. A Doctor is the only person that can verify this.

Hi everybody, longtime lurker and huge fan of these forums here. Felt compelled to post due to experiencing this problem myself recently. Tommyboy got it right, that's definitely Radial Neuropathy (wrist drop), caused by compression of the radial nerve under the shoulder. I was taking alprazolam and oxycodone one night and fell asleep at my computer chair. It's a scary thing to wake up with, but I personally don't think it warrants an ER visit, they have way more important cases to worry about. Your friend may feel comfort in seeing a doctor, though I haven't myself and probably won't. Unfortunately from the information I've gathered, and from what I feel, the recovery process is slow (a few months). I strongly recommend wearing a wrist brace, daily stretching and strengthening of the affected hand (and whole body in general) as well as taking a multivitamin, eating healthy and avoiding CNS depressant drugs. I'm doing all that except the last one (as I am addicted to opiates and also enjoy benzo's/alcohol) though I have greatly reduced my usage (less than 0.5mg of suboxone a day, some alcohol use). I am 2+ weeks into this and would peg my recovery at maybe 15-20% and don't see 100% functionality returning for at least 1 or 2 months at best. I'm very health consciousness despite my drug usage and am fully committed to recovering, hopefully your friend is too. The human body is an amazing machine, make sure you take care of it. I hope at least one person will find comfort in this post.

Exact same thing happened to me, nodded off on opiates/benzos on my computer chair, and woke up with the radial nerve crushed.
But you're (relatively) lucky that you only got 4 month, I had to go to the errrrr.... well specialists that put electricity in your arm to stimulate the nerve, then do some réeducation for almost 10 months. That sucked.
And I was freaking out badly when I woke up, I don't understand how your friend is so calm and just want to score weed...
The doctor told me it was called "abrassion d' amour" in french,
Haha my doctor indeed told me there was a french expression for that, but "abrassion" doesn't exist.. I'm trying to remember the actual quote... no success >___<

Thanks all I dropped him off at the ER and went to work yesterday and talking to him today he says it feels the same but I guess they threw a sling at him and kicked him out I dunno what happened exactly Im going to hang out with him tomorrow ill let y'all know whats good. Thanks again!

radial nerve palsy

nod out > wake up > wrist is limp

took me like 6 months to get movement back. the first time you move a finger on that hand after its dead its a great feeling and all uphill from there

I was with him today and he switched arms he shoots into and I guess has a cast which he doesnt wear. He did see to perk up when I told him it should get better in 6 months but overall not the change I was hoping for he said hes going to stop shooting but I dunno. Thanks again everyone but if something doesnt help the old boy out I can only assume some temporary nerve damage is the least of his worries today I watched 60mg time release morphine get shot with hot water (so the beads dissolve better im told) and no cotton alls I got in reply to the mention of micron filtering is "no one fucking cares about microns) sigh
