Codeine to treat a bad trip

If one has a bad trip on 100ug of LSD will ingesting 100-200mg of codeine help?
One of my friends (Yes, seriously :P) is nervous about having acid for his first time, It's my first time too but I've done shrooms before. He wants safety net and we cant get benzos, So just wondering if a CWE will help with a bad trip :)

Codeine won't have any real effect but as with anything - if you tell the kid "This will kill the trip dude" then it may help purely through the placebo effect.

I wouldn't take benzos as it would kill almost completely the trip

There's no reason why benzo's would kill the trip other than the placebomine. Certainly there's nothing in a benzo that's going to lessen the effect of LSD in the slightest.

Cod. will cause you're trip to be itchy. It might put him into a good mind set, but don't let him worry about it. Cod. will not crash the trip in the same way a benzo would, neither will dramamine or benadryl. Taking it might change his mindset, maybe. I've seen people in heroin nods high on acid having a bad trip. This is not to say that t would cause a bad trip, but it will change it. Your mileage may vary. :\

Benzos are benzos, they work in their own special way, a barbiturate would help, but you're less likely to get those then a benzo.

Best thing he can do is think on it and prepare himself for the trip. Set and setting are important.

I know for me even with no tolerance that dose definitely wouldn't help in the slightest

back when i used to use opiates more frequently i had a couple experiences with LSD & morphine. It certainly took the edge off and reduced some of the body weirdness. Might help, and almost certainly will if he thinks it will ;)

If your looking at a placebo effect then skip codeine and look at something that wont give any nasty side effects. Last thing you want when your tripping is to start itching!

Multivitamin pills etc :)

Vitamin C has helped a lot of friends who were having a rough time, just the idea of something helping often does the trick.

If he is ready to trip and you have taken the time to make sure the setting is correct then thats half the battle :)

placebo is highly undervalued. I remember when I used to get acid from reliable sources, it always seemed better and i had a better mindset and better trips.

The first time i did oxy on acid it was amazing but that was when i did it so infrequently. I recently did oxy on acid and just felt like a worthless junkie and it was ruining my life. Granted i dont have an addiction i just use more frequently then id care to think about. Just that feeling in my nose and the fact i blew all that money while on acid ruined the trip for me.

As long as you dont have unsettling thoughts about your opiate use i dont see how it wouldnt help the situation or not change it much at all.

Something that you can feel is going to have a much more powerful placebo effect than a multivitamin.

^um, no. even if your CWE technique is perfect, there is still caffeine mixed with the codeine, and that kind of combo is not optimal for easing someone's mind.

if the tripper is still lucid enough to understand "drink this, it will make you feel better, there is a light at the end of the tunnel -- the sunrise not a train", i strongly believe that sugarwater is 100% better than codeine CWE. if you want to get all fancy, grab an Airborne or Emergen-C and let the fizzy salts trip you the fuck out :)

in the cases where physical restraint is necessary because the tripper is violent, then codeine will not be as effective as true medications for this type of situation like typical benzodiazapines or serotonin antagonists.

Yeah things should be fine, I'm actually surprised that codeine wouldnt going to work. I thought the euphoric effects and numbness of pain (emotional) would work. Then again, I have no real experience with codeine at those doses. But thought it would do that since it metabolises into morphine.

Can anyone here tell me effects from 100ug of LSD? These tabs were laboratory tested at ~105ug so It's not an estimate :) How hard would one trip?

I'm guessing weak-mild OEV's, mildly strong CEV's and a small brainfart. But still a possibility to go deep if one wants too.

How about GABA receptors agonism?
Even such a weak drug as phenibut can diminish certain aspects of tripping: 2 months ago I was tripping on 50 mg of DiPT and at one point of time I was quite anxious, and decided to take 250 mg of phenibut to calm down. However, I get rid not only from anxiety, but also from good part of mental effects.

Actually, there are successful anecdotal reports on quite large doses of niacin for trip abortion.
It is not a "multivitamin" though... :)
