Did you know he also owns one of the biggest model train companies in the world? Or that he designed and built a device for his disabled son to control the trains? Or that he owns about 200 Fender Deluxe amplifiers but ony uses one?

Fascinating man. Obviously on the autistic spectrum. The biography Shakey is probably the best rock bio ever.

aw jeez knowing that you love neil young makes me feel bad that we argued like dick head now... ;)
the biography is a brilliant read.

the video quality is terrible but i fucking LOVE this. i mind i was stoned and about 18ish when i first seen this clip and ive been happier ever since.

Wow. I don't keep up with this thread as much as I should. But I found 'We Go More' by Eskmo last night. It's an utterly fantastically trippy video. And a damn fine song as well.

Apologies if this is hardly new. If it new to you, then get off your face on your choice substance, and watch =D

Berman's an excellent lyricist. :)

Also, off topic - good to see you're taking steps to avoid being surrounded by bad influences. I've been there and been ripped off too. Just take care, though I know you can handle yourself well.

Thank you, I can handle myself yeah, but not when it comes to certain people/drugs sometimes. I've started to fall apart, but i've noticed it in time.

I was just listening on youtube to one of my mates and also my boyfriends bands who have an album coming out soon, but I don't want to post the link here as their faces are in the video. I think you'd like them Sam, so I'll send you the link in a PM. It's psychedelic rock.

The lyric I just heard was....

'Have to lose the game some how, make a stand and make a change.'

Fitting.

Spiritualized - Don't Just Do Something

'Sometimes
I like to sit around
and just contemplating sitting round

I could stay in bed, like my momma said
Don't just do something, sit around instead

Sometimes
If I may say myself
I'm not bad at life, I'm not good as well
And though life goes on, I can plainly see
Just what is it for, if its not for me ?'

And my boyfriend has got me tickets to see them for my 31st! <3

D'you know what? I'm not usually charitable towards contemporary bands (probably because I'm a frustrated 'musician' myself when I have the confidence). My mate's a sound engineer and I usually rip his 'clients' to pieces when I hear them.

But genuinely, that was good! It reminded me a bit of the early nineties vibe (always good) but not in a derivative way, and the whole band sounded like proper 'feel' musicians. I also liked the vocals, which I don't often say (see above for the reason).

In fact I wouldn't mind abducting the rhythm section and forcing them to work with me. :D

Thanks for that. I'll reply properly to the PM when I can type and focus with less strenuous effort.

So I was on my lunchbreak today and I got asked for alight from a dishevelled-looking guy.

Apparently he'd ended up stranded here (he lives in Sheffield) because he'd come down (presumably to core, though I don't know) and his dole doesn't come through till Wednesday, so he's been walking the streets. There aren't many facilities for people like him, and he'd been thrown out of the train station for sleeping there. Poor fucker.

Unforunately I'm broke till Wednesday too, so all I could offer was a friendly ear. Which won't help him tonight, but it put my own worries into perspective somewhat.

So for you, homeless bloke from Sheffield:

Woody Guthrie - A Picture From Life's Other Side

Hope you get some sleep tonight somehow.

They have some pretty decent musicians and producers working with them.

This is their bio from their website...

...steps out with 7 league boots from it's hiding place in the Hindu Kush mountains into the traditionally spaced out environs of the South West of England to deliver a sound wrapped up in suicide riffs, Blues traditionalism, and Sunday morning lyrics, delivered by a band you can tell are still living in that Sunday morning moment.
Produced by the internationally renowned production team 'The Insects', The ********* comes with an assured debut whose music echoes the best of raw rock and roll (MC5, Stooges, The Verve at it's most psychedelic, The Velvets) and with songs that sound like a menacing city whisper on a stoned preachers lips...
With a set of influences belying their years, the ********** have crafted something their own, the sound of young, love blasted England, coming down, walking home.....

I did think you'd like them, even with your distain for contemporary. I don't like contemporary indie either!!! *Goes away to put on Liz Fraser singing with Felt*

No worries about replying in any hurry, im shit at replying to PM's,and even sending them actually! Communication has not been one of my strong points recently.
