Beginning to Really Like Salvia

First time I tried it, was the extract. It just came on so fast and hard and was left me in kind of a limbo of being stoned, not stoned for about 10 minutes after the initial rush.

Like smoking the leaf much better. The immediate high not so intense but you very definately trip. I take three or four good tokes, then wait for the initial rush to taper off and smoke a couple of more hits, repeating as desired. I like the after effects almost as much as the initial rush. Just feel really nicely buzzed for about an hour or so. Just a really natural, not chemical feeling to the high.

I would recommend the leaf over the extract any day. "extract" your money.

I really don't know why this plant has not been more popular. Good thing though.
If it was more popular they would have made it illegal.

Best Wishes

Salvia was my first psychedelic. I only smoked the leaves. The first time I packed a bowl, inhaled and held the smoke for 30 seconds or so. I immediately broke through and was sucked into the Salvia world. Complete disconnection of reality. I fell to earth again, took another smoke and was sucked into Salvia world again.
The next time I tried it, I didn't broke through though. I just saw a few objects melting together in a huge face or something. Interesting.

Probably because it leaves you mind--fucked six ways from sideways. That being said, it was my first 'psychedelic' (though I think it is more of a deleriant)...

And it is becoming illegal (or already is) in several US states and several entire countries.

This is going to be my take on Salvia.
Salvia's trip is not chemical. Meaning, Salvinorin A pushes some kind switch in the brain, and from then on the trip unfolds according to the individual's psyche. Salvia causes your brain to think you're dying, but it's your mind's reaction to the sensation of death that governs the intensity and extent of the trip.
I know about my self that under the initial layer of my ego, lies a tormented and defragmented soul. And facing that reality for the first time in my life was, in my understanding, pure hell. I really don't think I'll ever try Salvia in this life again.

Salvia may cause YOUR brain to think YOU are dying, this is not the case for me. Salvia is a very strange psyche IME. Maybe I will give salvia extract another shot one day, as the leaves didn't do anything special for me when I had them.

Salvia experiences for me ranged from "oh my god I'm dying" to "oh my god I've never really been alive this is just a cruel joke" to "grinning ear to ear for ten minutes". Strange doesn't do this one justice :)

It was a deleriant to you because you smoked the extract. I can really see how smoking the 40x stuff could send some (especially kids) off the edge a bit.
Folks really ought to try getting some of the leaves instead of the extract.
Very inexpensive. In leaf form it is a real psychedelic, not a deleriant. And you can actually control the effects, extending them or not at will.
I did not like the 40x. Just too intense w/o the nice long buildup that L gives. In my opinion using the extract is just abusing the drug. (and your wallet)

I'm under the impression that Salvia is neither a hallucinogenic nor delriant.

I'm pretty sure it works by just absolutely fucking with your brain for a short period of time.

I gave all my extract away after only trying it a few times. Looking back on it, I wish I woulda just held onto it. This thread is making me wanna have another salvia experience.

Love smoking some extract and then not doing it again for a long time. Most people I know, myself included, are so turned off of it after using it-- just no real desire for an immediate repeat experience.

But when I have done it, I find that 40x is pretty great. Never broke through fully, although I have had some crazy OEVs and CEVs. My bed spoke to me, my friend saw my head grow out of the ground. Insane drug, but so expensive.

Salvia will teach you if you want to learn from it. Just bought some oral salvia extract (drops under the tongue). Supposed to be equivalent to a 10x trip. Perfect. I'm excited.

Salvia is weird. There is invaluable wisdom if you listen.

Try the Emerald Essence liquid sublingual extract (the one made by Daniel Siebert, one of the original main investigators... see his info site sagewisdom.org... I've heard other extracts are not as carefully done and may not work as well, though some may). More closely replicates the usage by the shamen who discovered it, and it comes on slower and lasts longer so you get a better chance to explore and try to understand the mindspace. Way preferable to smoking for me.

"This is as close to a 'literal' representation of a particular trip in an early stage.
My body was undifferentiated from the tidal ether apparently about it.
My leg 'taffied' off into a remote distance, a large spiral swirling force seemed to drive it all."

The come-up for me literally happened before I had time to exhale the second hit (same thing all three times). I went from sober to inter-stellar particle dismemberment in the matter of a nano-second. The last time I did it, I was conscious enough to control my body-- I saw Satan climbing out of the sky coming for me-- I flung myself off a trampoline, combat crawled across my friend's lawn, then stayed face down in the grass until the experience ended...

That being said: I enjoyed what I got from Salvia (20x extract via small bowl w/ BIC lighter).

It must be noted that my body metabolizes psychedelics extremely quickly, so I break through every time, and the trip is very intense and short-lived.
