I was wondering if the low doses of codeine in cold and flu tablets, pain redelivers even does anything? I'm talking about those ones with 8mg of codeine to 15mg. If you take 2 tablets it usually about 30mg max and 1000mg of paracetamol. So at these doses would the codeine relieve any pain or is it there to sell the product?

Cheers

It is sold for it's intended use, pain relief.

Abuse of pain relief medicines result in an opiate "high".

Have you ever used it cold & flu tablets as they are intended or as directed by a physician?

Low doses of codeine will just help with any pain that you have, you won't get any real opiate high from low doses.

If you do decide to try and take more to get the opiate high them make sure you do a CWE first as you don't want to be ingesting too much paracetamol. Make sure you read up about the CWE technique if you decide to go this way.

That low of a dose won't do anything except help with pain if you have it...if you "Abuse" it and take a higher dose then it will result in a "high".

Low doses of codeine combined with ibuprofen/acetaminophen are an effective pain reliever. Moreso than ibuprofen or acetaminopehn alone, IMO.

there is not much of a question to answer here. OP, it sounds like they do not do much for you. but 30mg of codeine definitely helps with pain in a large percent of humans. i'm sure it helps sell the product as well.

and as mugz mentioned, if it is just codeine and tylenol, CWE is an option.
