OK druggist note says jail is 'like being in hell'

Okies tend to be armed to the teeth and have a "No Trespassing...Or Else" mentality. Everyone I knew growing up did anyway. Local cops didn't dare enter the homes of drug dealers, meth cooks, child abusers and other criminals in my town for fear of being shot.

While OK laws tend to be excessively harsh, it's a lot like the Wild West in many ways. It's nothing to see an 8 year old driving a truck or tractor down the street by himself, a 35-year-old openly dating a 14-year old girl or someone carrying unregistered weapons in the open.

Example: My grandpa has made his living for the past 40 years by selling and trading guns out of his home with no permit/license. And everyone knows it. He's damn well-off too. I once worked at a veterinarian clinic that also sold guns. It's ingrained in the culture. Not saying it's right, just that this is not out of character for Okies.

^Watch the video. They went in, the pharmacist shot the unarmed one (which is stupid), the armed one ran away and the pharmacist chased him out. Then the pharmacist came back, checked on something, then walked over to the guy he'd shot and shot him 5 more times. That is murder, not self defense.

Also, just cause "that's the real world" don't mean it's ok to shoot someone over some shit like that. Morality and what really happens often don't correlate.

Killing someone over material objects is pretty cold blooded, yeah. Armed robbery isn't a small thing but it's a lot smaller then taking someone's life. Someone robs me, they get what I got and we both walk away alive. No one deserves to die just for robbery, that's not a fitting punishment.

As far as jail being like hell, jail isn't that bad. Prison though, prison is like hell, I wouldn't wish prison on anyone. And prison is where this guy's going.

bullshit. doesnt always go down like that. i guy i went to school with robbed a convenient store, and after getting the "loot" shot the clerk. if someone has a chance to shoot an armed robber, fucking do it. i dont care if he is a pharmacist or not. your profession doesnt delegate whether or not you should carry a gun. granted, he went too far by shooting him again, but i refuse to feel sorry for the punk kid. even if he was unarmed he still partook in the attempted robbery.

In the cases of everyone I've ever known whose been robbed and has cooperated, none have been shot, and this is Texas, where most robberies seem to involve guns. Sometimes people get punched or something, but generally robbers just want your shit, they don't want to kill you.

In most cases, more guns= more violence. Clearly, this robber wasn't actually willing to use the gun, cause the dude with the gun ran. If the robbers had been serious, the armed one would have shot the pharmacist as soon as the guy pulled out a gun, and at least by the time the guy had shot the unarmed one (which is who this brilliant gunman decided to fire at).

I have no problem with self defense, but people in America are far too quick to decide to pull out guns and start blasting. A human life is not worth insured medicine on a shelf that isn't even yours. Putting people's lives in your hands to defend company property is plain foolish.

^ Theres far more places in the world where your a lot more likely to have a gun pulled on you than america. Fortunately england doesn't seem to be one of them.

I Wanna feel bad for the kids I really do, but I can't. You go around waving guns at people you damn well better know how to use that shit or someone will put you down. Pretty harsh puttin the extra 5 into the unarmed kid though.

Maybe he was talkin shit on the floor? you know threats to the pharmy, his family, sayin hes gonna come back and shoot them all etc?
Still don't justify it though, everybody loses.

IMHO, some punk-ass 16 yr old kid pointing a gun in my face doesn't count as a valid human life. I would have blown the little bastard away as well, and his accomplice too. Fuck 'em, they played a dangerous game and lost.

The 16y/o didn't point the gun at the pharmacist, and IMHO your HO is appaling.

We could all sit here and say what shouldve happened, but the fact of the matter is - nobody knows what they would do when the massive surge of adrenaline and the fight/flight survival response envelopes you. The pos robbers had kept coming back and jacking this guy over and over, and the pharmacist ended the threat. The robbers got what they deserved IMO. I can't believe he got convicted in OK tho, one of the most pro-gun rights havin stand ur ground redneck states in the US. At the same time I wouldn't rule out the possibility that this could have been a racist or hater dude who wanted to kill - I guess only God knows...

Where do you get the information that claims he "kept coming back?" what would the pharmacist have done were he not armed? And i dont think that claiming god only knows will get you anywhere.

Yes. a KID with an addiction needing a quick fix doesn't deserve DEATH. ass.

i have been addicted to a certain substance in the past, but have never decided to point a gun at someone and demand things which arent mine. the first rule of gun safety training is, you pull a gun on someone you better be willing to use it.

Exactly, every case is different. If theres a gun being pointed at you in a robbery there is definatly a chance your about to die or be seriously injured, noone can deny it happens. And in that event you most definately are not in the wrong to shot him before you get shot yourself.

Obviously this phamacist fucked up big time and it definatly is murder, but there is no reason what so ever that store clerks and such can carry guns and a pharmacist shouldnt be able to. An armed robery is an armed robbery no matter what the persons profession is thats being robbed.
