I met up with this girl on craigslist, she got screwed and needed someone for 3 months. The whole time I was under the impression we were cool and would re-sign.

The last 2 weeks have been my most stressful ever and I handled it bad....sleeping in for work 2/3 days and losing my supervisor position. I'm sort of am relived that happened and now I can just go back to being a regular, making a dollar less an hour, oh well.

Anyway like a day before we were going t go resign the lease, she never called, and a few days later told me she didn;t want to live with me for a lot of reasons, okay the name is in her lease and she wants to have a friend as a roommate. There's not much I can do because I signed nothing.

I could have totally fucked her over, but instead just kept apologizing for being a bad roommate.

Okay so I want to keep this job I have , even though they hate me i've got the most experience and I like it a lot.

There was a ton of flea markets today so I walked all over town, sleep deprived, this morning and afternoon asking people if they knew of any places they knew of that needed a room mate and got 4 leads. Cool. And got two leads off of craigslist.

But I want to try my own tactics......

tl;dr

Would it be a good idea to hang about 20 of these in places like banks, etc?

NEED A GOOD ROOMMATE?

I am a professional 24/m, but willing to share a place with anyone
Need a place by July 1st
I have a full time job M-F 8am-4pm with Lebanon County
I have my own car
Possess a 4 year Bachelor's degree
I am quiet, courteous, polite, and respect privacy, but not afraid to address issues
My credit is excellent and take care of my rent ASAP
I just want a room where I can get some quiet sleep
The only furniture I have is my mattress, 2 folding chairs and a small poker table
I am looking for a place anywhere safe in Lebanon County
------------------------------------------

Is this safe, can it be effective, am I selling my self too much? I have no problems moving in with a stranger.

Anything you guys would edit?

There's no way I am running home to mommy and daddy again, and if no room by deadline it I think i'm just gonna live outta my ca for a few weeks, voluntarily.

Sorry for the ramblings, it wasn't all my fault?

Thanks.

I'd personally switch it around a bit... People want to read why you'd make a good roommate, not your resume. :P Also, maybe make the list bulleted and certainly more to the point.

"NEED A GOOD ROOMMATE? One who is quiet, courteous and polite? Who respects privacy, but is not afraid to address issues when they arise?

If so, (basically say "consider me" but not in those words :P).

In addition to characteristics written above, my credit is excellent and I pay rent on time.

I am looking for a room where I can get some sleep. Maybe put in that you don't party (loud :P)?

The only furniture I would be bringing is a mattress, two folding chairs and a small foldaway? poker table.

I am looking for a place anywhere safe in Lebanon County (You should know where the shitty places are if you live there. Use your judgement when you get an offer.)

Would expected to move in by July 1st.

A little about me: I am a professional 24-year-old male, but willing to share a place with another male or a female.

I have a full time job M-F 8am-4pm with Lebanon County.

I have my own car.

I also possess a four year Bachelor's degree.

For more information, contact me at (555) 555-5555.

Sincerely, <your first name at least>.

i would post it on craigslist. i am in the process of looking for a sublet and that has been the most useful. i have also used craigslist to find roommates in the past.

I met my roomie on Craigslist. We've lived together since late last summer, and are signing a 12 mo. lease next week. She's a year older than me; we've become awesome friends and will be traveling together a bit this summer. She's terrific - we even know each other's families. :) Rent and bills are always paid on time; split right in half. Our 2 bedroom place is awesome. I couldn't ask for more.

I know several other BLers have also had good roommate experiences w/craigslist. I had a bunk sublet once, but didn't get ripped off financially.

I like addictivepersona's idea. Give it a shot, man - no need for a 24 year old dude with a job to live out of his car. I bet with a bit of looking around, you'll find someone compatible and form a stable, mutually respectful roommate situation.

Good luck!

you should have absolutely no probs finding a new roomie on craigslist. done it so many times. just make sure to talk to them in person/hang out with them first so you can make sure they're acceptable to you. you should have no worries getting into a new apt within 30 days, probably within a week!

When cash flow that was sky hig faded away in 2 weeks, suddenly i'm going to need a good month to catch up to really spend much money.
I refuse to share a cheap room within city limits.

I think I am just going to live in my car for at least a few weeks, then play my options.

Thanks for all the help guys!

for sure man. i know from experience its worth it to find the right roommate and living situation... dont rush into something if you know its not right.
