Grinders - yea or nay?

I already have glass/metal screens, depending on piece/whether its hash or bud/etc which I use sometimes, so I have everything I need, minus the grinder, which I suppose is the most important part in this case.

Ah, could you maybe describe it a bit or post a picture of a similar one? I'm pretty curious, especially when I run into something in cannabis culture that I think I've never heard of.

I mean, I don't even know what you use a mixing bowl for? do you make blends of stuff to smoke? My dad's friend does stuff like that with different herbs and plants? Or am I completely off? Anyway, it sounds interesting. I know I should research this but I'm definitely ready to sleep NOW. LOL.

I would much rather just smoke the weed as is than have it lose keife in the grinder and have a big "payday" down the road. To each his own i guess.

Plus I like my weed to be a little chunky when i smoke it and a grinder can tend to make it too fine for my liking. I roll amazing blunts and the best blunt weed is the super sticky broken up by hand type IMO.

the only way really smoke anymore is from a j or a nice bleezy, so yea i have to have a grinder. i broke one once and it was 2 days of sticky hands and crappy joints lol

Must be 100,000+ pretty average joints if you can't roll with ground up weed.. ;)

I Bought one of those meal grinders with the compartments and keif collector and whatnot. It's served me well and provided plenty of keif over the years.. pretty glad it's been collecting in there instead of getting all over my fingers!

Used to rock a plastic one but seen way too many of them get broken or have teeth snap. :/
 
TBH, I think the people in here saying "Fuck grinders" have never used a good one. I used to have one of those little wooden ones and I almost never used it, because it sucked. But once I used a good one I was hooked, and eventually dropped a decent about of cash on mine.

Its primary function is for mixing hash and tobacco together in. AFAIK they originated in India, where they smoke chillums, for which you need a nice even mix of hash and baccy. It's just the polished bottom of a coconut there. I've also seen ones that are like small leather dishes, which are really good for chillums as you can roll them into a funnel and just pour the mix in. I really like mine, though, because the zip means that you can store your hash in it, fill it with mix and take it out and about, or keep joints in it. Really useful, versatile piece of kit. Also useful for making spliffs with weed (beats using a receipt).

If you think about it, all the kief that ends up in your grinder would probably be stuck to your fingers. Scissors+shotglass is the only alternative.

It's so much more useful than I could ever have imagined. A few of my mates had 'em and Ii didn't really get it, I bought mine in Christiania as a souvenir more than for practical purposes tbh, but it changed my life.
 
Ooh I've never seen one of those mixing bowls before. It looks pretty handy. I'm totally gonna look for one online!
 
Grinders are awesome in my opinion, but there are variables.. one if your not that great of a roller then breaking it up buy hand would make you blunts last a little bit longer, but if you are an experienced roller it makes rolling very easy and you can make a blunt last regardless. smoother flow of smoke thru blunt. Bongs on the other hand, or anything of the sort, gridded weed will burn extremely fast, better to use chunks. but hands down my favorite part of a grinder is when you fill it with some grade A, grind it, then open and take a huge whiff!! cant beat that!
 
I don't use a grinder, even when I have one right next to me. For whatever reason, ground weed does not work well with my rolling style, and the joints and blunts always end up barely hitting. When I break it up myself, they hit just fine.
 
For the longest time i would be the grinder.
Never will i ever have to do that annoying task again cause i just got one.

I bought a pretty expensive grinder... one with metal that never goes dull. It's definitely worth it if you roll j's or blunts!
 
Grinders are necessary, especially for those who enjoy rolling spliffs and want to get the most out of their weed.
