I just got prescribed Trazadone.

Did my research and 50-150 mg at bed time and its a sleep aid, 150-600 mg daily and its an anti-depressant.

Im supposed to take one at bed time and last night i did that, and just felt a little drowzy and that was all. Didnt help my sleep any.

Anyone have any experience with them?
I read all the ones on erowid and they were about 5 and some said it did nothing, some said they tripped (lolz), and some said they felt something.

I also found out that after it metabolizes in your body it turns into mCPP which is MDMA analog??? Not sure i want to continue taking this medicine.

Also, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

^I couldn't agree more.

Trazadone does make you feel something, but that something is certainly not high. I used to take 150mg and it really is a dirty feeling like K'd-OUT-in-AZ said. I found it to be entirely too anticholinergic for my liking at the 150mg range, but less so at the 75mg range.

trazodone makes me sleepy but the terrible akathisia it gives me makes it impossible to fall asleep. it's also weird cause it seems to have two phases, the first being sleepy and the second being still a little sleepy but also weird stimulant like effects which make sleep impossible. not fun at all. but then again i seem to react badly to most all antidepressants.

but i do know quite a few people who swear by it as the only thing that helps them sleep.

i don't know what dose your on but if got a little sleepy from what you took with no side effects your doc will most likely raise your dose. someone correct me if i'm wrong but i'm pretty sure i have read before that normally outpatient sleep aid dosages do not exceed 200mgs a night. so if you were started on the normal 50mgs at bedtime you have a way to go. so don't totally write this medicine off yet. everyone is different and like i said there are also many people that have had positive experiences with this medication.

You can't get high from Trazodone and you shouldn't expect to feel "trippy". Personally I don't like it because it makes me feel really drowsy the following day. It just feels dirty. I used to take 150-200mg.

What these guys said^

Shit gave me nightmares.

Apparently, one of trazodone's "uses" is to prevent nightmares and night terrors, but I only took it once (although I was prescribed it) and it didn't seem to help much for sleep. However, I didn't take it with food and it made me EXTREMELY nauseous.

Nothing about it is an MDMA analogue to answer the OP, Trazodone is actually an SARI so it does mess with your serotonin to some degree, I'm guessing the same way SNRIs and SSRIs do for the most part, but I'm not sure if just taking it for sleep each night at a lower dose causes it work the same as if you're using it as an antidepressant (where it's usually taken a couple times throughout the day).

Trazodone is a horrible drug. It won't get you high in any sense of the word, but you will feel 'drugged up' for awhile before having a total drug-coma like sleep. In the morning you'll feel run down and groggy, probably prompting you to sleep 3 hours or so more than you usually would. This sleep is not restful, it just feels like you can't shake it. Remeron made me feel the same way, except less so. Trazodone also made me feel extremely nauseous.

the drowseyness is a side effect that will wear off with and only with consistancy of dose. if u take it for 2 weeks regularly you will find getting up in the morning MUCH easier

Guys trazodone is very helpful to me, it puts me down, I've had nightmares and holy beautiful dreams at 100mgs, I kno this is the wrong thread but the other thread is crap, id like a clear cut answer, prescribed trazodone: can I take an gdam roll? That thread only talks about Wellbutrin and mdma, other information says its rather dangerous, advice and criticism is welcome

If you take this shit got to bed... Period. There is absolutly no sense in trying to Ride Out the drowsiness for some fun, which there isn't any...

No. You will have a bad reaction. This is a terrible thing to do. Even if it is to use trazadone as the comedown easer... It will make you pay dearly.

i don't have any experience in regards to taking trazodone after a roll. but trazodone is a serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor, and is a antagonist at several 5-ht1a receptors. not sure how that wound mix with a roll. on the other hand, myself and a few people i know have been prescribed this while also on one or more antidepressants.

goodness! where did you get the idea that mCPP is an MDMA analogue? that's horrific. Just look at the structure of both molecules... Maybe what was meant was that mCPP has a Piperazine ring... and sometimes shitty ecstasy tabs/pills contain various Piperazine compounds and are passed off as MDMA which is awful in its own right.

Trazadone sucks. But it does help some people. Taken in small dosages the mCPP isn't something you need to worry about. But in small dosages if it doesn't sedate you enough then its not worth taking any more. Personally it left me groggy and dehydrated in the mornings and the sedation was hit or miss so i quit taking it. I used 50mg, 100mg and I think even up to 150mg. In the end it wasn't worth using.

so if you tried it and it was a no go then move on to something else.
