Hi! I am 25 year old and I just moved from France to Ohio for professionnal reasons.

I've already been out a couple of time but didn't find my place yet. All people that I've met told me this is not a state to be if you enjoy good music, but deep inside my damaged brain, I'm sure there is a lot of awesome parties (and awesome people) around.

I enjoy live music a lot, mostly electronic (Drum&bass, Dubstep, Fidget house, Minimal...) and also Dub, Hip hop and reggae. I also like Psychedelic culture and psychedelic experiences.

I'm already a member from a similar site (but french speaking), so I am here to see what's going on over the ocean.
 
HI Coulpa and Welcome to Bluelight. I hate to say this but all the people that you met that told you Ohio is not a good place to find good music were right. I've lived in OH for 30 years I like a lot of different types of music and had little luck finding good spots to enjoy. You might find like some House or some Hip hop or something really pop club but good luck finding Dubstep, or any of the other stuff you like. I'm close to Dayton what part of OH are you in
 
I'm close to dayton too, south. I'm still in a hotel for now, but I found a roommate for june 1st. Gonna be there for at least a year. I've been to very nice bars/clubs (even strip clubs) the past weeks, specially in cincinnati, but the music is always pop R&B or commercial Hip hop.

Do you know some good spots around Dayton ?

For music no I really don't know of any place sorry. Nobody in OH listens to electronic music really. You could go to a hippie Festival or try looking around on JamBase they have cool stuff and sometimes electronic Festivals do pop up a few times a year. If you want rave I don't know.

What I mean by Festival is three days camping in the mud with tons of music and drugs. Not all the shows listed are party festivals some are just the local street kind of things with kids and food.

Yeah it's about as good as your going to get in OH. I go for the weekend warrior college girls that are looking for free love.
 
"The venue is absolutely beautiful! Sacred ground....Tier 1 tickets cost $90, Tier 2 tickets will cost $120, and the Gate Price will be $135. Get em quick!" That is what they said on the site. I'm not sure what it means but I think it's when you buy your tickets and I bet tier 1 is over. So it's going to be at least $120 after food, gas and everything. This thing would cost me like $400 to go to. If you got the money go for it but it's way over my head.

This is weird, there isn't 1 day tickets. I'm working this saturday morning so it's just too expensive to go 1 night and pay for 3
