there's a difference between "hearing" it kills brain cells compared to knowing it kills brain cells. i could say oxycontin cures chronic pain but that doesn't make it so - it alleviates symptoms and allows many to live a manageable life..
if you're going to nitpick my about grammer, whatever. but when you make such claims it helps to have substantiated evidence behind claims when you start throwing around "it killsbrain cells"; hearsay. we're here to eliminate misinformation not spread it.
i'm sincerely interested in the study where you've read that.
If you read my original post i said (or the worst of them all)
But your persistence leads me to this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenothiazine
Seroquel is not an antidepressant. Let’s get that squared away right now. Seroquel basically means ‘serotonin queller’. Seroquel disrupts both dopamine and serotonin receptor activity in your brain.
Many of us know from reading
Robert Whitaker’s books that depression is not caused by a serotonin imbalance and schizophrenia is not caused by a dopamine imbalance. Rather, this chemical will cause both a dopamine and serotonin imbalance in your body soon after you take it. In other words, you will have a chemical imbalance—after you start taking this stuff.
Seroquel is a so-called ‘antipsychotic’. Depression is not a psychotic state. Why on earth would you take an antipsychotic for depression? Where is the causal link that would inform us and make us think, “Hmm, a serotonin and dopamine blocker is exactly what I need for my depression treatment.”?
Antipsychotics are bug killers. That is, antipsychotics are primarily derivatives of phenothiazines which Dow Chemical sells to Big Agriculture as an insecticide and de-worming agent. Their other name, ‘neuroleptic’ which means ‘nerve clamp’ is far more precise and honest of a designation. It clamps down on your nerves and causes artificial Parkinson’s Disease.
This class of chemicals has not been expertly engineered to dampen psychosis. It just scrambles your brain. That is it’s ‘medicinal’ effect.
Antipsychotics hurt you. They make you fat and leave you with dry mouth and muscle twitches. They cause central nervous system damage, diabetes and a host of other problems from impotence and night sweats to memory deficits and brain fog.
Why on earth would you take a bug killer for depression? Especially if you are already on another drug? If that drug is not working on its own, does it really make sense to increase your body’s toxic chemical load? Does it makes sense that if a mood stabilizer or antidepressant fails, then that would be a good reason to add a braincell killing agent to your current drug regime?
It sure doesn’t to me. What does make sense is that Big Pharma no longer sees any reason why people with schizophrenia and bipolar should be the only ones enjoying a bug killer masquerading as a ‘treatment’ for mental illness.
With persistent niggling, Big Pharma has influenced its favorite puppet the FDA into saying, “Yea, it’s cool to pile up on the drugs you take for depression, if one doesn’t work, try two! Don’t worry about how antipsychotics are called chemical lobotomies and kill off brain cells in macaques. Don’t let that scare you at all. Don’t look at Bob Whitaker’s timeline on antipsychotics either. Just trust us and Big Pharma that we know what you need and have your safety and best interests at heart.”
All I have to say to that is: “Ask you doctor if Tardive Dyskinesia is right for your depression.”

Re: seroquel have dissociative side effects?
SWIM's answer is yes. He has not experienced this drug firsthand, but he observed a lab rat ingest 200 mg of seroquel. 2-3 hours later the lab rat was crawling on the floor, barely able to walk on his own. The lab rat commented that he was "unable to distinguish dream from reality". This sounds like a characteristic of the datura-like dissociative state. The lab rat commented that things appeared that were not there, and was very sluggish and had trouble even figuring out how to download music on a computer.
Had SWIM known the effects would be like this he would have warned the lab rat first, but it sounds like what SWIY went through is not unusual, its a wacky drug to begin with and in SWIM's belief capable of causing a dissociative state.
