Going to try a psychedelic for the first time

I haven't been much into psychedelics, but after reading the recent news stories about how extremely mind-expanding many of them can be, I've decided I'm going to go for it.

I'd be surprised if there was a microgram of acid within 100 miles of me so I'm going to go for LSA, specifically from Morning Glory seeds. Of course if I ever find any acid around here I'll try that, but for now LSA seems to be fitting for me.

Anyway, I've a few questions about psychedelic trips in general. It's surprisingly hard to find any info about first time psychedelic experiences. So here: What's the best setting to take it in? I know for some you want to be at a party or concert or it really sucks, and I know some you need to be in a dark, quiet room to have a good trip. So for LSD/LSA what's a good setting for a first time? Should I make any attempt at doing anything that requires complex thought? Should someone be with me? and last; what should I expect in terms of visuals and other effects on a light dose?

R u planning to trip individually? If so, u should trip at home the first time. Try not to engage in anything that requires 2 much thinking, listening to music and playin video games r fine. longboarding is great 2. On a light does, be prepared to just see objects breathe and not fully transform or become disfigured. With me LSA is more of a mind funky than Lucy, but dont expect 2 much of tht from a light dose. A sitter would be fine, personally I dont think you need one but you know ur own tendencies more than eye.

Well, I would recommend something other than LSA for a first time psych. The intensity can be variable and there is frequently nausea.

About the first trip itself. I wouldn't do it somewhere overstimulating (concert, party) and I would have a close friend or two with you. Be somewhere where you are comfortable.

If you asked around in the right circles I'm sure you'd find either acid or mushrooms. It doesn't matter where you are. People grow mushrooms just about everywhere, and acid is highly circulated, though frequency of availability and potency will vary somewhat. Mushrooms are easier to get most places, and make a good first trip because they aren't a 12 hour marathon like acid or cactus. They only last about 6 hours, but the trip is a bit more unpredictable and emotional. Also, potency isn't very consistent from strain to strain, or grower to grower, so its always best to try a light test dose before eating a bunch. I also suggest you try to talk to someone who has already eaten from the same batch so that you have some idea of what to expect. Its best to trip your first time in an environment where you are very comfortable and with people who you trust. It is good to trip with a friend, and also very good to have someone sober who can handle an emergency at hand. Once you get a feel for psychedelics you should try tripping at a concert or on a camping trip if you are confident you can handle it. There are lots of great settings for psychedelic experiences, but always remember to consider safety first. Happy tripping!

Also, make and take calls only when absolutely necessary while you are tripping. No good will ever come from answering that call from that friend who you haven't seen in 10 years while you are high.

Have you checked Erowid? They only have 2 first-time LSA experiences, but many others are valuable to read as well.

I suggest being at home, with a trusted friend or two.
Unplug the phones.
Good music on. Nothing too hard, even if you like hard music generally. Something relaxing (but something you know and enjoy).
Lights low, but not off.
Be prepared to create art, music, writing, etc. Whatever you enjoy.
Only do it when you are in a good state of mind.
Do not think that the LSA will change your mood if you are not doing well.
Do not take too much - it is far, far better to take too little.
Have fun!

I wish I would of took the blue pill instead. At first I wanted the red pill too, but only after taking the red pill can you haver the wisdom to realize you maybe you should of taken the blue pill instead. We should be happy with what we have now, we don't need anymore then we already do. Ignorance is bliss.

Anyways, if you do somehow end up jumping down the rabbit hole, keep in mind that you will find the best and the worst of our entire existence. The farther you venture down, the closer and farther you'll get from everything and nothing. Strap on your seatbelt, it might be a bumpy ride.

I've seen many opinions about 4-HO-MET 25mg oral being great for first time psychodelic.

I can agree to that with my little, but my own, experience.

Hmm.. I'll have to look into that and see if it's easy to obtain.

Also I know benzos can help 'terminate'(I know there's a better word that's used more commonly but I can't think of it) a trip, would that work for all psychedelics or just specific ones? I don't want to be having a bad trip for 8 hours..

If you have Close friends that you could trip with and trust, Then id say do that, with some music playing .

I only ask if you have friends like that because i dont =/

But its best to be comfortable when tripping in any way, shape or form

they work the for all classic psychedelics (5-HT2A/2C agonists), but they will not terminate the trip. indead they calm you down and take the edge off.

Most trips aren't "bad", but they sometimes get strange and difficult. Its part of the psychedelic experience. You have to take the good with the bad. Honestly, I wouldn't trade any of my bad trips (even the ones that were REALLY bad) for good ones. They had more to teach me and a greater impact on my life than the good trips. Benzo's aren't bad to have on hand, but you shouldn't take them just because you aren't having fun. They should only be a last resort option that beats a hospital visit.

^ I agree with this.
I have had "bad" trips that ended up good, and others that ended up making me stronger.
Having a little bit of alcohol can help relax me, though I would never want to get drunk.
Smoking weed can make things get really, really crazy - like multiplying the acid world times 10.
But I truly feel that learning to use my own inner strength to get through hellish trips has made me a better person.

I agree completely.

To me "bad trips" don't exist... because the way I see it, when that happens its no different then exercising your body (some discomfort and unpleasantness in the moment but ultimately growth and positive benefits long term).

The only "difficult" trips I have had, always revolves around things I had been avoiding thinking about in life or changes / improvements that I had been neglecting to acknowledge and the drugs brought those issues to the surface and forced me to look at them.

Not saying I look forwards to and hope for bad trips. But if they are needed than its a good thing to go through.

Hopefully there is no need for them for anyone though, hopefully life is great and you have everything in place so there is no substance for a bad trip to even arise from.

By the way, since LSD and LSA seem to have the power to put your thought process into overdrive and bring up some really weird thoughts; is it a good idea to take it when I've got moderate depression? I was just thinking if it makes you think more deeply about things then it might make me hurt myself... But I don't know.

In the past it has helped me see beyond the mental boxes of negative thought I was stuck in at times.

My first trip was with 8 hawaiian baby woodrose seeds and was amazing :) Just tripped out in nature with one friend, planned it so the peak would be around sunset. So I disagree with whoever hates on LSA. I didn't get many visuals, but it was great. Once you start feeling a little nausea, smoke a bowl and you'll be good ;) at least I was.

Do you have any desire to hurt yourself ordinarily? If the answer is an honest no I feel you're safe. There isn't a deranged serial killing/death seeking maniac waiting just beneath the surface to get out. It's just you, and you're never as scary as you think and it always feels good to get back in touch.

I never really feel like hurting myself.. I just know some compounds like PCP(no I am not comparing PCP and LSD!) make you do really stupid shit. Is there anything you should never do while you're on a psychedelic? Besides the obvious try not to drive.
