Modafinil and psychedelics

Does anyone have any experience combining modafinil with psychedelics? Any interactions of any kind...?

I'm mainly thinking about phenethylamines but any anecdotes gratefully received.

I never combined them but the idea of it doesn't sound very appealing to me.

The stimulation from modafinil reminds me of unwanted stimulation I sometimes get at the end of tripping when I want to sleep but can't.

I don't like modafinil much in the first place though.

I'm curious how they go together if you try it.

Upregulation of the enzyme that metabolizes MXE for one,(I know not a phenylethylamine) which means less duration for MXE....think though you would have to use modafinil chronically....enzyme is a CYsomething or other...was posted in earlier MXE threads....hope this of use?

I've taken both Modafinil quite a bit, but never with a psychedelic. I doubt there'd be much positive synergy.

Personally, if I were to mix them I'd take one at the tail end of the other, rather than concurrently.

I've taken psychedelics after taking modafinil but there's no noticeable effect. Particularly when you've been taking the modafinil for a day or two beforehand.

Pretty pointless combo to be honest. Particularly with acid which is a pretty strong stimulant anyway.

Modafinil+4-aco-mipt was a terrible combination. I will NEVER combine modafinil with another psychedelic. It was one of the worst drug experiences I have ever had' I felt poisoned.

Once again... not a psychedelic combo but...

I am not exactly sure how modafinil is metabolized. I could probably pubmed it.

However I will say this... I was on 200mg Modafinil and went out drinking.

I puked my BRAINS OUT after having 3 or 4 drinks (and was not drunk).

I have never experienced this while drinking on another substance.

Leads me to think that modafinil does not mix well with other substances.

I've been using modafinil on and off for several years and have never had any issue combining it with alcohol beyond the alcohol having a slightly diminished effect. Ymmv.

Can you elaborate? What were the timeframes - concurrently or one after the other?

I don't take modafinil daily, about 3x a week.

Here's the basis of the experience:

One of the worst psychedelic experiences I have had. 200mg provigil followed by 10mg 4-aco-mipt about 4 hours later produced significant headache, nausea, tachacardia and severe tinnitus. The trip also never really got going, just a flu-like feeling and some trails. The modafinil was a 200mg name brand provigil, and I had been using the 4-aco-mipt for almost 3 months at doses well above the 10mg dose that caused the terrible effects, with no negative effects.

Mixes. OK with everything I have combined it with went well, no major complications. Outside of aweful experience when combining it with a 5ht-2 agonists.

agree. ik once combined modafinil with a 4-aco tryptamine (i forget which one) and it was way too memorable in a bad way. very hbigh heart rate, time seemd to pass by way too slowly, and i was well edgy. some pretty freaking hallucinations but i was also totally overstimulated and downright scared. it turned out all right in the end, but ...never again.

I wouldn't even know what the point is of the modafinil, most phenethylamines wouldn't have you nodding away from sleepiness anyway. But for some reason I am not entirely surprised egor said it could have a bad effect, seems like asking for jitters.

I find modafinil nice for a first boost in the morning when I have the hardest time getting in an awake mode or for skipping a night's rest. Makes it seem like less of a disaster for the wake/sleep cycle with modafinil although it does virtually zero for my physical energy levels. I generally do not combine modafinil with anything. And I snort it, duration seems relatively limited that way.

Yes, I didn't really think this through. I was at a festival, and usually would have supplemented the psychedelic (2C-B in this case) with small doses of amphetamine to keep me going, but that wasn't available. Was fine without anyway.
