Bupe and kratom

SWIM takes 4-8mg of suboxone at least every other day. SWIM also recently had wonderful results with kratom during 11 days clean from bupe. SWIM researched something that mentioned that since kratom doesn't work like a traditional opiate, the blocker will have no effect, and the kratom will work. SWIM payed handsomely for some good quality malaysian, and doesn't want to waste it. How long would he have to be off of the sub to get full results from the kratom? Thanks in advance!

I dont even understand why you are on 4-8mg of suboxone or suboxone at all if kratom can tickle your opiate receptors. I swear after being on suboxone no opiate was ever the same and my tolerance FOREVER even after periods of long absence of opiates would hardly change. must just be my bad luck.

SWIM's on it because it's cheaper and more readily available--He isn't prescribed and unfortunately has an addiction to it, started with kratom for an alternative since his source will be dropping out soon.

geez where do you live that only one opiate source exist, i want to move there, maybe ill stay clean.

No, SWIM could get anything he wants, but he's on probation and gets drug tested, so SWIM has to stick with drugs that don't come up on a typical drug screen.

Kratom has traditional mu-opioid agonism which would be blocked by buprenorphine. It also has some other more complex mechanisms of action which you may feel (akin to tramadol on subs).

How long would he have to be off of the sub to get full results from the kratom?

I would say several months at least for tolerance to go down. However it seems you are happy with 11 days so maybe try that again? Then is no real answer to this. What are you taking when you aren't on buprenorphine? How do you feel kratom on top of whatever that is?

I took 4mg of Subutex (no naloxone) about 6 hours ago, and just did one mg intranasally, I am about to ingest 5 grams of Kratom to see if there are any effects. I know Bupe is a mixed agonist but Kratom, while having agonist properties, also has its own antagonist properties. I will edit this post in a few hours to see if it works.
