Subs 24h after Dope gave me PWDs - effects of benedryl and cough syrup on metabolism?

Ive always waited around 12 - 15 hours after the last line of H to take suboxone. But this time my pupils didn't seem to get big enough so i waited longer.
Then after 24 hours i thoughts its safe to take half a suboxone. And it put me into the scariest i ever felt, precipitated withdrawals...

It was like electric shock going through my body. it happened 2 times and then i blacked out.

So now i woke up 12 hours past all that and im horribly scared to take a second dose of suboxone i rather stay on opiates all my life then go through that again....

Things i consumed before the 24 hour period of time: H 10 bags, RObutassin DM, Benadryl, Sinex Vicks

Please help me figure it out i don't know what my next step should be.
 
I've been through opiate w/d's many, many times, and I've never experienced and electric shock sensation. With that being said, everyone is different and will react differently. I always found the naloxone in suboxone to be quite a joke. I've taken subs, then an hour later snorted 2 or 3 oc 80's, with no ill effects. But disregard this, because I have seen people react badly, however, they were IVing heroin shortly after (their dealers came through after dosing suboxone). I would stick to your scheduled doses. If you take it again and you feel the same, then consider alternatives.

People who have been to the doctor for suboxone, can probably help you more than I can. I got mine from sympathetic friends.
 
from all the posts i've seen once you take the first dose of bupe every dose in the near future is impossible to give you more p w/ds because that first dose already took off everything that can possibly give you the percip w/ds unless it was .5-2mg in which case their still might be a tiny bit of heroin or whatever but it shouldn't be enough to worry about. I'd say try taking .5-1mg of another sub now and see how you feel in 5-30mins if you're not getting a lot worse keep taking more til you get to 2 or 4mg. I'm also guessing the electric shock and blackout was all the shit getting pushed off your receptors at once and then your body/mind blacked you out as a defense mechanism because it realized that if it stays awake any longer you'll hurt your physical/mental self very badly from having to deal with the p w/ds never heard of it happening but it sounds reasonable.

just took another 8mg and am feeling much better... took talking to my mom for 2 hours and my friend before that all in tears to get out of this funk....

im really thinking it could be the benadryl i took with H the night before sub ... it must have made it stronger...


i have very strong allergies, so i often must take bebadryl. and this is the second tim ei notice that im not in Withdrawals the next day if i mix H and Bendryl it somehow makes it last longer or something.
So that morning i noticed my pupils whernt usually huge. So instead of waiting the usual 12 hours i waited 24 hours just to be safe. And it still threw me into PWD...

I wonder if anyone else has had such experience :X
 
benadryl does increase opiates effects by a good bit until you get a tolerance to the bena, glad you are feeling better :)
 
Alright as long as its figured out. No mixing benadryl with Opiates the day before suboxone to AVOID Early WIthdrawals... jeeez it was like from a horror movie lol fml.....
 
The OP has let me know that despite not consuming diphenhydramine while waiting for the dope to exit her system the usual time period was not enough so I'll reopen this so she can get some more advice and tell us what she thinks she has figured out.
 
Hey, So i have been trying to figure out what exactly caused the PWD (early withdrawals)

I definitely waited enough time As i usually am good to go with taking suboxone 9 - 11 hours after last H dose.
What i realized is that when i take cough syrups such as Robotussin it takes away quite a bit of WD symptoms. And now im thing that night when i got PWD it had to be because i was drinking Robotussin Cough syrup while awaiting for hours to pass for my Suboxone intake.

My guess is that some ingredient of the Robotussin cough syroup has opiates or has something that creates opiate liek effect on the brain. Because i was definetly free of any other opiates when i took the suboxone but it STILL put me into Precipitated Withdrawals.
Has anyone else experienced that?
 
Also on the side note (my apology for being off topic on this)
I realized its not mentioned anywhere else in the blogs. Many advice to take Immodium to eliminate the WD symptoms. And it does work BUT it has to be mentioned that you CAN NOT take immodium before your first dose of Suboxone. If you take suboxone earlier then 12 - 24 hours after Immodium it most likely will put you into PWD also.
 
Robitussin often has dextromethorphan which has opioid agonist activity.

mu =1,280nM
delta = 11,500nM
kappa = 7,000nM

Bupe has very strong mu affinity (partial agonist) but is also mentioned as a kappa antagonist. Furthermore the DXM could have interacting with the removal of the dope.
 
Ok i am now in the same situation. With extremely painful bronchitis. I got rid of cough syrups but i did take Mucinex 8 hours ago. And i keep drinking Nyquil.

That is the reason i have been failing at detox for the last 2 weeks and tonight is my last chance (im leaving on the plane out of the country). I cant not take any medication for my cough because its unbearable. But from that experience i am trying different medications this time round.
Anyone knows if Nyquil or Mucinex can cause a PWD?
 
You can't just give the name of brands like Nyquil and Mucinez. There are lots of different types (drowsy, non-drowsy, sore throat, flu, etc.) so you need to list the active ingredients.
 
Ok.
Mucinex Active Ingredients:
- Dextromethorphan HBr 60mg
- Guaifensin 1200mg

Nyquil Active Ingredients:
- Acetaminophen 325mg
- Dextromethorphan HBr 15mg
- Doxylamine succinate 6.25mg


And if those are sort of opiates, how long after each one do i need to wait before i can safely take suboxone?
 
Something similar happened to me (didn't involve benadryl or robotussin though). I've taken Suboxone after an opioid (usually oxy) more times than I can remember, and I never had to wait more than 12 hrs (sometimes less). This of course is besides the most recent opioid to sub switch.

Unlike the last times, I didn't feel any withdrawal effects (besides cravings), and this was somewhere around 20 hrs after my last oxy dose. No runny nose, giant pupils, goosebumps, etc. So I wait a couple more hrs, felt the same, but figured it was close enough to 24 hr for me to take the sub. Man was I wrong. I've had some pretty nasty withdrawals in my 6 yrs as an addict, but the precipitated W/D's I experienced made the worst of them seem like a mild flu. I can't describe in words how horrible I felt, but I can tell you that it was the worst physical experience I've ever encountered, worse than the bones I've fractured. I didn't black out though, so you must of had it really bad.

After about a day I figured the only remedy was taking a big fat dose of oxy, and thankfully it worked. If I ever take Sub again I'll wait until I feel the full effects of regular withdrawal, no matter how long I have to wait. Good luck to you on your trip.
