Good gum?

I like chewing gum, not all the time, but usually once or twice per day. I'm really loving this Orbit Peppermint gum I have now, but I was wondering, what are some other good types of gum?

PB and I just quit smoking. Well, awhile ago. We quit smoking, then nicorette was over within a week, and we have since moved from Big Red to Double Mint to these amazing amazing gums:

"React" flavor is my favourite. What is react? I have no idea. They came out with React 2, which is equally as amazing.

is also good, totally sweet berry, almost like dessert, it's great for after food.

was too good for me, was like chewing a jolly rancher! i couldn't chew it.
 
Gum has been an addiction of mine since I was a child. I even did a science fair project on it in like 5th grade.

What I found was that the gum that has "no sugar" in it actually has a substance called Sorbital, and what Sorbital does (besides act as a fake sugar) is make the flavor of the gum last a lot longer. The gum who's flavor lasted the longest out of all the gums I tried was Extra, and thus, my favorite gum was found. It also gets rid of coffee breath in like two minutes flat.

Oh, we have those here (only recently came on the market). I like the lil' crunchy bits inside, but they quickly lose their flavour. Booo. :X

This is my current choice. Again with the crunchy bits:

I also love Big Red, as I'm addicted to cinnamon. But you can only get it in overpriced import type sweet shops here. :(

omg! i just finished a pack of this. it's delicious but the consistency became too tough and chewy in a short amount of time. did it have the same effect with you?

i like Orbit in citrusmint or sweetmint. also, can't go wrong with Wrigley's spearmint or Trident in whatever flavor.
 
Cool, I think I'm about to do some major gum shopping...

Juicy Fruit... come on, this is about GOOD gum! ;) TBH, I like it as a novelty, it just doesn't last, at all...

React 5, I didn't even know this was gum, the packaging is kind of strange for gum... It looks like it should contain condoms or little ampules of something. I'll give it a shot regardless!

Anything with the crunchy flavor bits is alright, too potent for me to really enjoy though. As noted, they also generally don't last too long IME.

I'm definitely trying the dessert gum, I'm a sucker for these types of things.

Somewhere between the late 80's through mid 90's the market for gum was through the roof. There used to Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew flavored gum. I used to be a huge fan of Big League chew, but I'm not sure if it still exists. There was another type of gum that was in liquid form, and it materialized into solid state once it contacted your saliva. I forgot what the name of it was, but it was the most unique invention for candy that I've ever seen.
 
I'm a Trident kind o' guy, but Dentyne is a'ight.

I just started picking up Wrigley's Big Red in the slim pack every once in a while.

I have my home stocking stuffed with gum every year, come Christmas time.

to tell you the truth fawkes, i dont even remember. i know i probably had to stop myself from swallowing it. it does taste really really good though i want to try one of the other 'flavors' they have.
 
Gum *is* my cigarettes, and has been for years; I almost always have a stick or two on me. Like some others in this thread, I only chew sugarless.

The Wrigley's 5 gum flavors listed by Kenickie is pretty good--I just tried the spearmint for the first time, and was impressed by its longevity, though the flavor IMO is not quite as strong as Extra, despite the commercials that make you think you'll have an oralgasm from the first taste. Extra is my personal favorite, though I mix up the flavors enough to keep me from having any real preferred single one. Orbit has some great flavors (like sangria, mmm), but it loses it far too quickly, IMO.
