there is a place called new beginnings that says they do testosterone replacement therapy for opiate detox. Does this alleviate the majority of the symptoms and what would be a good dosage amount?

Well I'm sure that HEAVY and prolonged use of opiates lower testosterone levels, but opiates are relatively easy on the body, even though the physical withdrawals may seem like the 9th circle of hell...I've never heard or replacement therapy for this specific reason, but I'm sure that the testosterone would obviously provide the user with benefits that include appetite stimulation, an increase in libido, and possibly help in the motivation department..

the last time i kicked i was on a nasty H run for a couple months IV and was just coming off a cycle of steroids. My kick was literally a day and a half. I have kicked several times and this time the mental fatigue, depression, anxiety, and lack of motivation and weakness seem to be all something that testosterone would counteract... there are even treatment centers if you google newbeginnings in florida they specialize in opiate detox with b12 and testosterone... so im thinking this helps the metabolism and recovery time and may be a HUGE tool in detoxing from opiates. Then once your body is recovered from the opiates your testosterone can naturally rebound itself to normal levels but will not be as difficult as opiate withdrawal as i am having now from roxicodone

I wouldn't be surprised if it did, but regardless, this isn't something you should be doing by yourself with no supervision. Contact the place and see if you can get more info.

Also, about being on H while on a cycle.....Why in the fuck?..

I'm pretty sure your testosterone will rebound as soon as you're off opiates, unless theres some other underlying problem.

No. The typical cns opiate withdrawal symptoms are not caused by a lack of testosterone.

From what I understand, Test levels do return to normal after you're off opiates.

OP, your best bet is to contact the actual facility and inquire about it. No offense, but I can't help but think you're just looking for an easy way out of a hole that you dug yourself. I think it would be a very good idea to stay off all drugs, or at least all opiates for good, considering your addiction problems. Call me ignorant, but I really cannot grasp why you didn't learn a lesson the first time.

Hmm, im an opiate addict with a daily habit and i work out.... just how much of an impact does heroin have T production? I have cycled before and used H as i didn't want to waste my muscle on stimulants so i thought H was a better alternative.

I'm planning on starting a test e cycle in a few weeks... maybe i should try and quit H before i start it.

Yeah.....maybe. 8(

I don't understand. Why take a drug when you're on cycle in the very first place? I mean, what do you need an alternative for? Because frankly, I would argue that even moderate Cocaine use is better for physical goals than heroin is. It's obvious your goals don't matter to you enough. Don't even think of starting a cycle until you're clean unless you want damage. If you want to know the impact that opiates have on Test production: It's a fucking big one. Look around for studies.

im trying it now

I went to my pm doc today and told her the situation and my doc confirmed that my testosterone is probably very low due to long term opiate use. Its very common apparently. Long term opiate use causes hypogonadism. So obviously a testosterone booster would help recovery ie: appetite, depression, lack of motivation and energy. So i was prescribed the testim gel which is a cream you just rub on that brings your testosterone to normal levels while your getting off of the opiates. Then once off the opiates, being that I am only 30 my testosterone will rebound on its own as will for most other ages. Males typically lose 1-2% of testosterone for every year they age. So it does help and opiates do cause EXTREMELY low test levels. I am switching to suboxone for a 7-14 day detox starting this weekend and i will keep the thread posted on my results.

Good. Keep us posted on any mental or physical changes you notice. Test cream is useless for lifting but it's the typical method of doing HRT for medical reasons. Works well for that purpose.

Good luck with everything. In my experience it's better to treat the suboxone as a detox and not as a maintainence drug. Everyone is different and the bottom line is that you're getting clean from your drug of choice, so that's great. but definitely stick to the goal of 7-14 (MAX) day detox from Suboxone. I used it as a maintenence drug for a little under two years and it turned me into a different person. If I could go back I'd just do a detox. I swear my Test levels were 2x higher when I was on 100+mg of oxy daily then they were when I was on suboxone. I've been off Suboxone for a year and 2 days now (!) ... and my new addiction is lifting. couldn't be happier about tha
