IMPORTANT: Chemicology.net fatal mislabeling of BromoDFly as 2C-E

ive seen the old webtryp vendors names dropped from time to time. You can find them on wikis webtryp entry.

Also this isnt the first time we have named vendors in a case like this.
When Haupt was selling Bromo-DFly as 2cb-fly we had a message just like this at the top of our page.

Not really a change in policy. I wasn't a mod during the Haupt incident, but this is quite similar. And like last time there was communication with erowid, they've got a notice up on their 2c-e & BromoDFLY pages as well.

During the Haupt incident i'm quite sure that the notices here, on erowid, & a couple other places saved lives. I'm not sure how much business chemicology was doing, and i haven't seen any of the "omg thanks so much for telling me this, i was about to dose" type posts like we did during the Haupt incident. Nonetheless, still important in the name of harm reduction.

The rc scene should have stayed underground.. Wonder how many chems will be available after the dust settles? Tryptamines seem to have gotten a pass, at least from looking at the 2C-x bill and the cathinones bill.. Dammit I never even got to try any of the basterds.. Ate more than my fair share of sydney, fungi, xtc, ket and most combos of those but I feel like I missed the rc craze.. the whole "powders through the mail" thing turned me off I guess..
 
Well test your shit if you can.... I don't know how or really have the funds to. I'm a porr drug user.. probably shouldn't be doing them as often as I do really.... but for real - WEIGH YOUR SHIT OUT! IT's serious stuff, the miligram can make ALL the difference. Also if you're snorting, the dosage is SO much less. Educate yourself with erowid at least before dosing

You weigh out 15mg of 2c-e to eat it and trip.
You end up actually measuring out milligrams and milligrams of Bromo-Dfly
You overdose many times over by eating a drug active in micrograms.

That being said, its kind of a shame this one kills someone every now and again due to mishandling.
 
man ain't this a bitch. at the expense of sounding nauseatingly redundant, this is exactly how drugs become illegal. really sucks that its happening to 2c-e, an amazing chem that has enlightened me and many of my friends over the years, hurting no one i know or ever heard about..
at least i got to try it and stock up before they make it illegal. i mean, yeah, i can still find 2cb, but it'd be a lot easier if it were semi-legal..eh im just upset and bitching after hear this bad news.
i know these ppl are all in it for the money, but they should at least test their products once before sending it out to the masses.
not doing so makes them guilty of taking these ppls lives imo.

Never trust a Vendor people...it's not all love and light,sad to say..

and the middleman getting this shit off the net and serving their peeps should test each batch out before distibution too. with all the talk of some fools on here eyeballing chems and getting careless, placing all responsibility on the vendor tpo weigh the shit:

regarding the 2 deaths in Oklahoma and in one of the news clips it shows a 2c-e packaging, the vendor for I recognize. Other news coverage on the same case says the kids think they received bromo-dragonfly instead of 2c-e. Does anyone know if they are using stock footage of 2c-e packaging, or if the 2c-e in this case actually came from this Canadian retail vendor, perhaps the Asian lab sent multiple mislabeled batches to multiple retailers? Did all sources ultimately derive from chemicology?
 
Does anyone by chance have a sample of bdfly that thhey could do a simple marquis test on to see what color/reaction it shows?
Since we know 2ce produces a yellow/greenish to brownish reaction, we could at least see what bdfly shows up as; I'm sure it's a diff color- that way everyone who recently purchased 2ce could cheaply and easily test their batch and determine if it is indeed said chem. Wouldn't guarantee ID, but would def help the community.
Wish I had some just to test; I'd do it myself..but I've always steered clear of it bc of all the mixups/horror stories.
Just a thought...

EDIT: I was informed from a second hand source bdfly shows a black/purple reaction on the Marquis, and Green to purple w Mecke. 2ce on the other hand,Yellowish/faint brown fading to clear, and dark brown w/ mecke. Two pretty distinctly diff reactions that should be easily noticeable, that should help some. May be good to double check to be sure but that info seems pretty consistant w what I've read and seen(as far as 2ce on my end at least)Test your shit peeps, and be safe! Love and light, P4p :)

The 2C-E bag in the news story that says "canada" on it has a 1cent canadian coin next to it and is in the stock footage on erowid.

Not sure about the one that says "5mg" on it...
 
I think this warning should be more than a sticky in the PD discussion maybe at the frontpage with RED BIG HUGE ENORMOUS LETTER. its a harm reduction site after all isn't it .

Test everything even from the same vend at sub mg , miligram , and 2x that and so on ....

May the hand that mislabelled that packet be amputated krokodil style .

respect vendors that are still trying to remain underground do not post unregister and delete your posts from open-sites that allow vendor talk .

this thread is really old by now.
but really, wasnt it confirmed that the stuff they died of was actually 2ce, and not bromo dragonfly? i distinctly remember an article about this. because if it is the title of this thread should change
 
I haven't seen anything about any of it being confirmed as 2C-E, but I know for a fact at least one of the incidents was confirmed as Bromo-DragonFLY. If I remember right there were no further details about the other incidents so to this day we still don't know what we got. I think it is very unlikely any of these were actually 2C-E deaths though, since I seem to remember reading somewhere they were only taking very small doses, and it doesn't really make logical sense for a bunch of deaths to appear all at once for a chemical people have been using and abusing for several years now with no prior incidents of death even with people recklessly pushing their dose ranges. That said, it's still a research chemical and caution is advised at all times :)

Although this is old, it is nice to have these kinds of warnings around. A lot of people assume that simply because a vendor is trustworthy, they'll be safe - but the fact is these people are humans, they make mistakes, and this is why allergy tests are extremely important!
 
well, i re-read a lot of the articles in those cases. it seems that though there is a high suspicion that it wasnt 2c-e but bromo dragonfly, the person accused for the deaths is being processed for selling 2ce. i dont know exactly how this works, but i must say im quite dissapointed that the authorities havent come forward with a clear sign saying this is what caused it, and instead prefer it that people be misinformed and continue to believe it was one thing or anohter. there was only one article saying it was bromo that killed them, and a lto saying it was 2ce.
now, im not saying it was 2ce, and it most probably wasnt. but must say, the police work in mysterious ways.

which reminds me. chemicology apparently bought things from a chinese vendor. any chance to know which? or, more importantly, any other vendors that might have recieved the same batch? i know its a long time ago but still....
 
hats off. you have to think that dying in any circumstance is pretty hardcore. but dying while tripping (which tripping already feels like dying sometimes) would be madness! it would be like dying 2.0.
ive almost died of 2ce in once particular occasion had a near death experience that blended into the trip on the ambulance ride.
doctor's said i had to be resuscitated and was in a coma after.

imagine how fucked it would be to actually cross that veil.

again hats off. these sellers. i used to think it was only the snot nosed kid at the raves that i had to worry about capping my molly or selling bunk shit. now its actual chem vendors. thanks for giving out this info.

@glassass420 drugs in general, from a cultural standpoint, have become as mainstream as skinnyjeans. the counter culture is now the culture. i don't necessarily think this is a bad thing. but it brings with it a whole new set of safety measures to combat the massive insurgence of n00b mentality. harm reduction forums like blue light are the front line of defense against this type of tragedy.
