Here's the link to the news story

The (now defunct) source of the mislabeled batch was Chemicology.net, if you bought anything from them be wise & either flush it or test it out at the microgram level. Preferably the former.

You should always test new batches of any chemical you receive from an "vendor" at extremely low dosages first, but now moreso than ever, especially if you've received 2c-e recently.

Be safe out there.

Could other vendors have the same problem? Maybe Chemicology.net's supplier have sold mislabeled product to other vendors?

What?!
Fucking vendors. I suppose it was cut with something inactive, otherwise there would be much more accidents?

What's more interesting, was the first death from 2C-E really from 2C-E?

no one really knows yet. If anyone's gotten 2c-e recently i'd be very careful with it. Test out <1mg doses before going any higher, or just dispose of it.

Good question. The tox report said 2c-e, but who knows what kind of testing they performed, or what reference material they used...

...

Would you offer the same advice to someone from the UK? I was planning on dosing tomorow and this has got me thinking a bit.

well the original source of the chemical was china, so the mislabeled batch could've gone out to more than one vendor.

And its always best to test <1mg & at least one slightly higher dose of any substance to make sure its not one of the super-potent ones or that you have some intolerance to the specific chemical.

^Conspiracy theory ?

Involving a customs guy who hates drugs & drug users swaps one fairly innocuous drug for a lethal one thus discrediting the whole scene.

Or mad Chinaman working in stockroom eating products off the shelf in order to make the 12 hour day pass more amenably dispatches wrong product.

Or evil greedy American breadhead decides to cut BD/fly with neutral agent.

Or.....................

Respects to those who perished & their families & friends.

RC vendors get your drugs tested please

i'd add language barrier & a potential lack of chemical nomenclature knowledge to that list as well.

And i really think its reprehensible to sell anything like this without at least testing it... its not terribly expensive & for the prices these guys charge they shouldn't be short on funds.

^ Well yes exactly, the bigger sites one would hope do this anyway, after this episode (and the last) were I a vendor I'd be getting my shipments tested & posting the data for all to see - good business practice I reckon as well as human decency.

Well, I feel like this is the beginning of the end for the RC era. Cannabinoid smoking blends and fucking bathsalts sold out in the open sealed the deal imo. And fucking L*G - what a complete moron. I hope everyone got what they could out of it. I managed to stock up on pretty much what I wanted - still missings some goodies, but there is still time to stock up. It's been a good time to have this opportunity. All these wonderful compounds available, stuff I would never have got to try. :)

Absolutely true for Chemicology, if you are going to put up a website and offer things like this for sale with only agreement to the disclaimer, absolutely.

But it's equally true for the guy that vended it to the party. He should have either done his own reagent test or at least taken his liquid mix (which itself is an irresponsible method IMO for bulk vending like this, as it dropping off bottles of it at a party!!!) and tried a safety dose himself of 1/20 the suggested amount, and worked up to a full dose HIMSELF before vending it out like this.

It should be a cardinal rule to always test anything you sell on yourself first, IMO.

KUDOS and THANKS to Bluelight for themselves posting a big warning about this AND naming the vendor, totally perfect example of Harm Reduction.

This is surely applicable here... a post to another site known as ... [my own self edit] by a person who was personally affected by an earlier vendor mixup... in this case both the person affected and I tried to name the vendor here on BL, but the vendor name deleted by mods... so I am VERY happy to see Bluelight has evolved their policy in the name of community safety and true harm reduction.

Re: If you have ordered 2C-E from Chemicology then your life...

Now I do not see how this mistake could have been made by even a bathtub meth maker, working in the woods in northern Kentucky. The chemicals are very different. Any naming convention will create very different names. The ingredients used are different. Fucking everything is different!

A well known and widely respected vendor sold me 2c-p labeled as Buphedrone last year. I almost died. Those mishaps you believe not to be plausible happen all the time.

We are playing with our lives and health pursuing this kind of 'research', there is no regulation and certainly no self regulation on the gray market, and there never will be. We have to take care of health and safety ourselves. Reagent tests, independent quantitative analysis (if possible), allergy tests, and slowly ramping up doses after carefuly studying the known literature/reports is the only way to go about it. Noobs have to be educated and morons kept out.
