Never done any hallucinogens besides dxm and i didnt even get any visuals. Although, I wish i had, because for the past week or so i have been randomly hallucinating. Maybe like once or twice a day. Nothing vivid, but i will hear whispers or see something out of the corner of my eyes. Ill give a few examples. (Before you say anything about meds, im not on any)

I was on my way across the street, all exited to be toking it up in the woods. And I hear a truck engine (if that makes sense) and see a truck out of the corner of my eye, and its coming straight at me. Of course, this freaks me the fuck out, but when i look, its gone. That was the first time it happened to me, so i thought it was a truck from far away and maybe a cat or something in my peripheral vision.

Happened a few times since then, still wasnt sure what to make of it. Getting ready for bed, i put my wallet in phone in my drawer and start to change. All of the sudden (remember im a good 2, 3 feet away from it) I hear a slam come from that drawer. Everybody else was asleep, even so, my drawer is up against isnt by a shared wall.

This one happened yesterday and it has to be the most vivid one yet. I just get into math and we have a substitute. I sit down and she is humming. Now, if it was any ordinary hum, whatever. But It was EXACTLY the same hum from this video (David firthe makes creepy videos). That would be creepy by itself, but then in the cockroaches voice (sounds like a whisper) I hear "She's a witch". I know its not normal to have hallucinations like this, but to have hallucinations from a youtube video?

This is not normal, I am fucking sick of this and I cant take it. Im scared for whats to come, it seems they are getting stronger and stronger. A quick google search came up with these possibilities on why I might be hallucinating.

Causes of hallucinations:

1.) Extreme stress- possibly
2.) Mental illness- hopefully not :(
3.) Brain damage or disease- Can you see why I'm so paranoid about this?
4.) Intoxication- Nope
6.) Delirium- This is a symptom, so im confused on this one.
7.) Not enough sleep- I get like 6-7 hours a night, I dont think thats enough to hallucinate.

Thank you.

sometimes when people are REALLY depressed they start to hallucinate. i know it can be scary because its happened to me before.

have you thought about getting medical attention? if its not depression then it could be a serious underlying condition :(

hope things get better :/

the first thought that popped in my head: mental illness.

youre not only SEEING things, youre also HEARING things. could be schizophrenia, Schizophreniform disorder, Schizoaffective disorder, bipolar 1, etc...

but i dont think anyone here can give you a correct answer. you should see someone about this.

These aren't hugely typical of schizophrenic hallucinations (most commonly people hear mostly voices and don't get any visual hallucinations) but mental health diagnoses aren't the same as medical diagnoses and often things are atypical.. Do you have have any other symptoms (weird thoughts/things happening, disjointed thoughts, paranoia, feeling like thoughts are being broadcast or removed or inserted into your head)? Having symptoms like this doesn't necessarily mean you have schizophrenia or a similar disorder, and often people only have the one episode, but I think it's really important you get this checked out as the earlier things are treated the better the outcome often is.

Have you been under stress lately? As you found out, sometimes a minor psychotic episode (psychosis just means getting symptoms like hallucinations or delusions) can be brought on by stress or, as mgmt said, depression..

Delirium is basically confusion/disorientation/altered consciousness (inc hallucinations) caused by something "organic" - in psych terms this means caused by a physical health problem eg a high fever/infection or abnormal blood chemistry. Again, a doctor could check this out for you. Do you feel physically unwell in any way?

Brain damage/disease is pretty rare and would be waaaay down on my list of likely causes, but I can see that it is worrying you so that's another readon to see a doctor - get it checked out.

Must be really scary for you, is there anyone you trust who you can talk to about this? I think it would make you feel loads better to have the support of a friend or family member. Def see a doctor as soon as poss too, to get to the bottom of it and put your mind at rest. I hope things get better for you and settle down :)

In the meantime I'd try and take care of yourself, carry on getting lots of sleep, eat well, make sure you relax etc.. best of luck, let us know how you get on and what the doc says!

Thanks for the help guys. Well effie, I do have a paranoia. Although, I dont know how severe it is on the grand scheme of things. I do things like look out windows periodically or whenever i hear car go by or something like that. Ill check my stash to make sure nobody found it, I also delete my texts like 2-3 times a day. Ive been stressed for a while, but now maybe its more severe? Ive had gray hair for a while (Im 18, had it since 16) but im starting to see more and more gray hairs.

To be honest, Im kind of emberassed to see a doctor. I think its stress.

You would have to be up for 48+ hours to hallucinate.

Not if you where already susceptible to it you wouldn't. I know that with me i can get some weird delerium type visuals before then sometimes.

OP id say go see a doctor about it because pretty much all we can do is just speculate as to the cause. I would also say that giving up all drugs you are not prescribed including cannabis wouldn't be a bad idea either.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you kipo. I remember years ago after I had hallucinations from drug use, they came one day and persisted for months. Needless to say it was VERY frightening so I can see where you are coming from. Fortunately, they randomly ceased.

Although it is an awful situation to be in in any case I would say you have one big positive in that you know these are hallucinations and have not completely lost touch with reality.

I know for alot of people having a diagnosis of a mental illness is very difficult to deal with and it may well be something else that is causing this. I would suggest you discontinue all drug use for the forseeable future at least and see if things improve.

Seeing a dr is also a very good idea and hopefully they can help you get to the bottom of this :).
