Chronic smoker here and the past few months have been terrible... Sleeping is difficult, and I have terrible stomach pains to the point of throwing up every time i wake up in the morning. My appetite is completly gone too, seems like weed doesnt give me munchies anymore it just gives me a normal appetite.

any help? especially with the stomach pains I feel like shit every single morning i wake up.

There is a relatively new syndrome called "Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome" it is characterised by chronic stomach pains, throwing up often, abdominal pain and strangely having the need to shower often.

you might want to look into that

I think you should take a look at the MEGA Anxiety and MEGA Quitting Thread. Perhaps it is time for a break, it sounds like your body is telling you so.

The disease Xayo is citing has only been "confirmed" in one person globally and the doctor who did it is under question. Several cases have popped up but the symptoms are nothing like you have described whatsoever.

Yeah it seems one of the only treatments is simply to stop smoking. I also found this interesting... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabinoid_hyperemesis_syndrome

Heavy daily smoker and home grower.

I too wake up with a sour stomach , feeling like I need to vomit, Smoking either helps my stomach pains or makes me slightly hungry to where I can barely eat a normal meal.

I figure its just a side effect from other drugs I take on a daily basis (Benzos, Subutex & Clonidine)

Do you take any medications ? Any opiates?
To you take ibuprofen or acetaminophen often, or smoke cigarettes?

Either case, it could be some other medications messing with your GI tract.
It might be that you have an ulcer like I had (if you stress out ALOT, that might be what you have, at least that's what my symptoms were and I found out I had an ulcer)

Either way, more info from the OP would be nice

Is marijuana the ONLY medication/recreational drug you take?

I'd tell your doctor you have stomach pain, and drop the cannabis for a while and see where that goes. He may have you get your gastrointestinal track checked, who knows, you may even just have a simple over-active acidic problem... Solved my one pill a day for the rest of your life, lol.

Thank about it - you're body is going through real issues right now. Sure, for now they are minor and shitty incontinences but why let them get worse? Getting high is not worth your health, and you do not even know for fact that it is the pot (perhaps your dealer is doing something like using RCs, if you always use the same dealer). Take the break and take note of how you feel, if you get better as days go by without usage, I think you have at least part of the culprit and should still get your stomach looked at.

Drop the cannabis first for a few days. They will be shitty days but do things you've been putting off. We all have shit we put off. Good luck, I hope you actually give stopping for at least a week a real shot, it isn't too tough besides sleeping issues, and I'm doing opiate w/d right now and trust me, the pot w/d was a walk in the park compared. Again good luck, quitting anything is very mental so have the right mindset. Check the Quitting Thread. I may merge this there later depending on how it progresses.

Stomach discomfort when high

Apart from my anxiety, (Which I really think I will be able to control in a few weeks with some good practice) I've noticed something too obvious to just ignore when high. It's pretty bad stomach discomfort. Nausea and general ill feeling in my abdominal area. So bad that I pretty much got the opposite of the munchies when I smoked 2 hits of white widow. Also, I was burping like fucking crazy. Not smoke though, just regular burps. Fucking huge ones. Shitloads, too. During another instance, I actually vomited multiple times. I thought cannabis was supposed to ease these feelings? What the fuck...Could there be a stomach issue that I haven't had diagnosed yet? The discomfort and shitty stomach feeling hits me whenever I either stand up out of my seat or try to sit back down. Also when drinking water. Anyone have issues with this? It's a serious high killer, other than the paranoia, which can be controlled to some extent. The sour stomach however, just has me wishing that I drank a fifth instead.

Lungs feel really itchy and irritated after smoking weed.

Well I have to cough every 10 seconds and there as described in the title. It's hard to sleep and very uncomfortable and I don't like the idea of what it's doing to my lungs. I know I can't get the best of both worlds but is their anyway I could minimize the effect marijuana smoke has on my lungs. Anyway I could clean them? Thanks

Maybe your just going green from smoking such a strong weed . widow is a good strong smoke ..

Have you tried smoking some normal hash to see if the same happens ?

I haven't tried hash ever, and as far as white widow being strong, you're right about that. I was really looking for a pure indica rather than a hybrid but beggars can't be choosers when you're getting smoked up by someone. 2 small hits and I was on the border of being uncomfortably high, but already past the point of being functional. Doing 1 next time to see what difference there may be.

I don't remember swallowing any smoke, but if I did, would this type of nausea and discomfort be common?

Not that I'm aware of, I never swallow smoke on purpose but accidentally did the other day. It burned my throat a lot worse than taking a usual hit but no stomach discomfort. I'm not sure about your access situation-whether you get it from a dispensary, etc. but recently I've been smoking "Bubblegum Kush." I've seen it online and on dispensary websites so if you can get well grown "BK," I would recommend it.

Also, Purple Kush is pretty good.

I say all of this because Sativa messes with my head SO much and I rarely smoke strong sativa if I can help it. I smoke everyday and there are few strains that give me the munchies from 2 hits but this stuff does it for me.

You're new to smoking right?

It's going to do that since you're inhaling hot smoke. If you're taking huge hit take smaller ones.

If you're really worried about it get a vaporizer.

Anyway I could clean them?

Sorry dude, but this actually made me laugh out loud. Just got a mental image of some guy flossing his lungs out...euurgh.

But yah, the only thing you can do really is vape/eat that shit. Eating the only real option to get NO lung damage. Vapings a much better alternative to smoking though if your health concious. :)

I Can safely testify that swallowing smoke can cause some major intestinal troubles for an hour or two afterwards. But you can usually tell when it happens, A stomachful of smoke is a baaad feeling...

Not saying it is for definate though dude, I mean tbh you probably would have noticed smoke entering your belly. I Ain't no doctor :P

Yes, you are not alone at all. In fact, I believe I have seen several threads much like yours. I am going to merge this thread into that one when I find it, and then merge it into what appears to be our new and active "off reactions to cannabis" mega thread.

The general recommendatory advice is simply this:

First: stop smoking for a week and take note of the changes. IF you can, stomach down some liquid and try to eat a bit healthy, and stay away from other drugs - it's just one week, you can do it, I know you can.

Second: See a doctor, we cannot accurate diagnose you because we do not know any of your medications (if you have any), prior drug use, allergies, weight, heigh, etc, but your doctor does. You may have stomach issues at the least may need some sort of muscle relaxer. We don't need you're info and even if we had it we do not have phDs.

---> thread merging with similar thread
