I posted a while ago talking about feeling like I have to go poo whenever I pop and it happens before I pop, at the come up and sometimes lasts my whole roll which really sucks.

I thought it was the m causing this but I wasn't sure why it started happening randomly and I think I've figured it out and hopefully this helps people who might have had the same or similar problems.

I was really stressed out during the end of school and started having stomach issues (gas, cramping) after eating almost anything and I went to see a doctor and she suggested it could be IBS and now when I think about it, m could easily be a trigger for IBS because it gets you all excited and revved up which is a form of stress and stress triggers IBS symptoms.

It's still a little strange that I get moderately severe symptoms (having to go poop) even when I'm getting ready to go out and I know I will be popping that day. Sometimes it happens just when I'm laying in bed thinking about my rolls! I've read about people getting feelings of anxiety when thinking about rolling or thinking of previous rolls.

Just sharing some thoughts, I'd like to hear about people's experiences of anyone has ever has similar problems or has other ideas as to the causes of this or how to fix it!

Having to go poo right as your coming up really sucks lol.
 
Research 5ht receptors in the stomach being triggered and nausea, might be something there.
 
I know some girls who A)poop and/or vomit ever single time they roll. As for having to poop when you think about rolling... Maybe youre anxious?
 
I vaguely remember reading that MDMA relaxes the muscles in the bowels, but don't quote me on that. If that is a fact then it would certainly explain why you feel the need to deficate.

Did you know that serotonin exists primarily for digestion?

Your serotonin network is the system of nerves that connects your brain to your intestines.
All serotonergic drugs, including MDMA, LSD, mushrooms, mescaline, piperazines...these drugs target the intestinal nerves in the brain.

This is why these drugs have such a profound effect compared to non-serotonergic drugs.
They are piggy-backing on one of the most complex nerve connections of ANY organ in your body. Indeed, the serotonin system is regarded as one of the most complex in all of biology!

Both serotonin AND stomach bile are made from the same singular dietary source - Tryptophan.
Tryptophan is an amino acid found in protein, and your body turns it into extremely acidic digestive enzymes. Not only does bile break down food, but its cousin - serotonin, causes the smooth muscle lining your intestines to contract.

95% of your serotonin AND your serotonin receptors are in your intestines, not your brain!

If you flattened out the villi in your intestines by stretching, the organ would cover a whole football field!
The intestines are gifted with more nerves and blood vessels than you can imagine. It is unlike any other organ in the body. Many doctors consider the intestines the 'second brain'.

IBS patients are known for having anxiety disorders and depression. The often overuse the medical resources in search of help. Unfortunately, the system is SO complex that we understand these types of disorders poorly.

Personally, I have had to shit on many occasions while rolling.
I know others that have had the same reaction.
It makes sense, because you are stimulating the network of nerves that controls intestinal contractions.

You are also increasing your cortisol levels massively.
This stress hormone on its own will speed up metabolism, which may contribute.
You are likely experiencing an increase of cortisol before the roll.
It sounds like your tense state is enough to get the system churning in advance.

You are just 'scaring the shit out of yourself.' :D

Anyways...the shitting is normal. Although I normally only went once...
You could try eating a high protein and veggie/fruit diet for the few days leading up to your roll. By eating healthy in advance, you may improve your body's ability to handle the stress.


Side note:
Serotonin is injected into the brainstem. It flows down the many branches of the serotonin network. In the brain, serotonin has a major effect upon blood flow. Capillaries respond aggressively to the presence of this acidic neurotransmitter. This was understood prior to MDMA research.

With MDMA use, the amount of serotonin dumped on this system is HUGE.
Some branches of this network are more vulnerable to this increase. The 'fiber' like extensions that are found in the frontal and pre-frontal cortex are among the 'vulnerable' parts of the network. This is where your 'visceral' reality is connected to your 'higher' thinking functions!

There is plenty of data to suggest that MDMA use, even in moderation, is causing long-term/permanent alterations to this 'brain-gut' circuitry. For many users, the evidence of change is easily ignored or tolerated. For others, problems do not become obvious until its too late.

The serotonin network is not resilient. It does not bounce back quickly.
This is because the body is normally not required to produce so much serotonin, ever.

When you take MDMA, your body cannot easily synthesize new serotonin for 1-3 months.

Also, re-dosing is proven to cause more alterations in this circuitry.
Each subsequent dose taken in a night will offer less and less high, and more and more 'damage'.

After I got fucked up from MDMA, I didn't shit or eat right for MONTHS.
I also experienced a lot less pleasure from the 'visceral' side of life. This includes sex...and taking a good shit. Even after SIX months, it still isn't the same...:(

Value your serotonin system and listen to your body.
If you are having digestive problems, it may be your body telling you to slow down.

Follow the general rules:
Space your rolls by 90 days, minimum.
Test your stuff.
Do NOT re-dose. If you do, limit yourself to no more than 300 mg total per night.
Drink electrolytes and keep your body temperature cool, every time.

I vomit almost every time I use mdma. I know people who always have to poo. Just make sure there is a washroom around :p
 
A lot of people find MDMA to be activating/stimulating, and even mild stimulants can cause people to need to use the bathroom ASAP. I've seen coke do the same thing to people, but even the caffeine from your first quad shot espresso in the morning can cause increase peristaltic contractions in your gut which will make you need to go.
 
Any stimulant makes me need to shit whatever the fuck is in me when I come up.
 
This sounds like my partner. She always used to have both poo and vomit on the come up.
Eventually we stopped doing E orally. These days we always plug. (search plugging). Since then we have had no problems except for her usual bout of nerves prior to the come up.
 
well me and my friend call it our "roll routine" everytime we enter a club we pop,we have to hit the stalls and crap or we dont feel right. think of it more as a habit, stomach never hurts or nothing i just have to do it. poppin while rolling is a weird experience to say the least...my adive is get it out early if you wait to long those toilets are gonna have vomit and other nasty crap all over em. so thats why we go at around 10pm before we enter and not like at 4-5am when everyone is raving.
 
i usually have to crap about 30-45 minutes after i pop. right before the come up.

ya they say ibs is from stress but dude, most stress is physical. You just aren't aware of it. Like i bet you have food intolerance to wheat or dairy. And those intolerance cause stress in your body.

Like many times people are diagnosed with chron's but it's actually just celiac disease.
97% of those with celiac go undiagnosed, that's crazy.

I highly suggest you try an elimination diet. It may be hard to cut out these foods, but trust me it's worth it to feel a lot better.
 
Shouldn't this be a good thing, though? Cuz I was told taking a shit while rolling is about the greatest thing to do when high after climaxing...
