What would help best for Social Anxiety ?

I think a regular dose of 1 mg lorazepam works very well for social anxiety, but because it has an intermediate half life, it probably may not be the best choice as tolerance and physical dependence may occur quicker than with longer-acting benzos.

As far as benzo's with a long half life, I'd say diazepam and clonazepam may be the best for social anxiety.

Well that is perfectly acceptable, remember everyone is different. Some people have severe anxiety and cannot appropriately communicate with society, and some just feel "pressured" as I put it when concerning those situations. If you are more on the "pressured" side of the equator, I would say that going out may not be the help that is needed, in fact it may ACTUALLY MAKE IT WORSE FOR YOU, however idk, because I am not you obviously. I would suggest targeting the emotional repsonse that happens initially when you are in that specific situation, the second it happens. Analyze the situation, and explain to yourself why you are feeling what you are feeling. You don't need a state certified psychologist to tell you what to do, you are a human being, and we are evolved, and regardless of the situation, any medication will only amplify the want to be social and decrease anxiety, not destroy your need for it. Medication is made to be a helping hand for you to overcome what is the matter, not to act as though it does not exist ;). therefore, no matter what medication you take, it makes no difference unless you are willing to target, analyze and interpret the surroundings and underlying causes of your "illness" and destroy it from the inside out, rather than allow a foreign drug to enter your body, possibly tear your biological structure to pieces, and you still have the symptoms. Anyways, hope it helps some. Keep your head up!

Hey Dravek218, I know you are still new to the forum, so welcome.

But just a tip: please try to put spaces between paragraphs, that way people will read your posts. Posting a long post like that, without breaks in between paragraphs will not be read by a majority of people.

Lol sorry, I am still learning the ropes, thank you for the advice!

Much appreciated!

Lyrica works wonders for me. Benzos are to sleepy. Of course Alcohol is the best but its also the worst. Weed might make it worse. Self confidence should be the goal without drugs.

Lyrica is one of the best and more expensive treatment for such things.

Lyrica calms the mind yet lubricates it with gentle energy all at the same time, perfect for social anxiety. It doesn't hurt to drink a little on it either, social, not binge drinking.

If you do so choose to partake in a medication treatment, you have to make sure you are comfortable with your choices, and there are always different options to treat the exact same illness in most psychiatric conditions.

If I were you, I would give everything, and maybe a combination of medications to help you, one for short and one for long term.

You can do both with Lyrica. As low as 50 mg three times a day might help you.

As long as you keep your doses within a certain frame tolerance should not be a issue. Tolerance is only a real problem in abusive situations.

Addiction to lyrica is almost purely psychological if you have a real W/D at all.

I have very very minute withdrawals from Lyrica, cause at logical prescribed doses, it is such a gentle drug to use.

lyrica is working great for me, less sedating than benzos and makes me want to run my mouth wihch is good because normally i dont say much....but your insurance probably wont cover lyrica so i suggest klonopin + adderall is a great combo

Jesus he doesnt need these drugs guys.. I reccomend a psilocybin / lsd trip in a positive enviornment where you can get a new perspective on people and create a new mindset towards people, possibly think through your struggle.. instead of using amphetamines or benzo's. Come on people HARM REDUCTION.
Although i understand the highly subjective nature of psychedelics, theyre pretty cheap and its worth a shot. Dont become a pilled out zombie who goes off writing amphetamine paragraphs like me. I mean its CLEAR who does amphetamines on this forum.

lmfao at saying he doesn't need any drugs, and then u suggest some shrooms or acid 8)..

I used to be on Clonazepam and also a SNRI. For my social anxiety.
It worked pretty good. besides the SNRI.. im never going to take another SSRI or SNRI.. they have some pretty bad side effects.

i also found that Diazepam helped my anxiety alot better the clonazepam..
i never really liked xanax or any short-lasting benzo for social anxiety. it just made me really sleepy compared to the longer-lasting benzo.

I hope you get some help from your doc.

Diazepam and clonazepam are best for social anxiety if the anxiety is chronic (ie. social anxiety disorder) and so long-term therapy will be required. You'll probably have to use an SSRI along with it.

If your social anxiety is transient in nature and not chronic, then I suggest lorazepam. It is a very strong anxiolytic and works great especially for social anxiety.

Lyrica is excellent for social anxiety. Just try to keep away from using it every day as you will become tolerant and it can happen pretty quickly. The withdrawals from Lyrica are minimal, not nearly as bad as benzodiazepines. I have suffered withdrawals from both and Lyrica is "mostly" psychological while benzos are very physical. I think that a dose of 150-300mg would be effective. It gives you a desire to be with people and communicate. In high enough doses (450mg+) its almost like MDMA without the stimulation. Combined with Klonopin and its a sure bet for the treatment of social anxiety and most all other anxiety disorders.

To the OP: Why did you start using Adderall in the first place? Was it just a recreation thing or were you having psychological issues? Sorry if the answer is already in the thread, I just woke up.

I've been struggling with social anxiety and ADD my whole life, it's a bitch. In my case, stimulants are the most effective drug treatment for SA, and I've tried everything. Dopamine dysfunction has been implicated (at least anecdotally) in social anxiety.

Anyway's, I think it would be good to get more background info on your drug use and past psychological problems (if any).

Kratom is undoubtedly the best anti-anxiety substance I've ever taken. Fuck all side effects, health benefits, addiction potential isn't as bad as conventional anxiolytics.

Really worth trying that out instead of pharmaceuticals just to see how you get on with it.

^ K then i stand by my original post..

Try phenibut but PLEASE don't dose daily.. or even more than 2 - 3 times a week..

Good choice of drug. He can use it as needed.

Don't they sell it in those containers that look like a energy shot, but it is labeled for relaxation? You know what I'm talking about?

^ Yeah i've heard of it being sold like that but i just get mine in bulk online.. MUCH cheaper and more easily dosed..
