What's this even mean...? study on ecstasy

Which kind of sucks because you can damage your frontal lobe (which deals with higher congnition such as consciousness) and still retain fully functional memory and IQ in the hippocampus. Grrr

There is also the possibility that there is undetectable damage going on in these regions of the brain and we may not know what it is until it's too late.

This study is MASSIVELY lacking any details about the participants. When they provide a more complete study i'll take them more seriously.

That's not the study, though: that's an article about the study, not written by the researchers.

Seems that the study itself is available for free, see here.

(They had 45 participants, for what it's worth).

^ Very true. How many people know anyone who is in their 50s/60s who took MDMA when they were younger?

I had a very similar EEG. Apparently the frontal lobes are the most prone to damage because of their position in the brain and their low oxidative capacity. To speculate; It could be that some of the frontal lobe got fried and other parts of the brain are compensating for the lower functioning.

That's pretty much how I see it. I can almost notice that difference in gnu perception of things, if that makes any sense.

Yes definitely. Apparently you can damage your frontal lobe and still retain perfect memory in the hippo campus, including your IQ. Which kinda sucks because you can remember everything and stay sharp as a whistle - but you just don't have the capacity to express and perceive things correctly. What a Frustrating plug hole.

I think the study means that the brain seems to become more easily excitable to external stimuli after MDMA (ab)use.. i havn't read all of it.. and im not sure i fully understand what i have read..

Uh huh, it is quite the plug hole.

All the same, one of my parents friends does Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and apparently I can get some free sessions. I was wondering the efficany of those. I've read alot regarding HBOT and axonal resprouting, along with increased cell repair.. And remember our serotogenic cells aren't dead, just plucked of their axons.

I've also read it's used to treat parkinsons ideas, autism and whole lot of other things.

I'd like to know who funded this. Pharmaceutical companies or the government would make this experiment a complete joke and mochery and not to be taken seriously.

I'm not discarding the fact that it may be true. But there are a lot of unanswered questions about it and it doesn't really tell us much in the end. I think this experiment is a little flawed and doesn't reveal much.

Just be safe. Space out your rolls, don't take too much and treat your body and mind respectfully and you'll be fine, I'm sure. Diet and exercise + learning and reading.

@ MS yeee I was Rollin balls while they did it xD

So? The funding doesn't change the outcomes...

They clearly never "made it up". Plus I'm living proof this is true, my EEG show an abnormally high amount of activity in my occipital lobes. Aswell with loss of brainwave efficiency.

Also, why would a pharmceutical company fund such a thing, unless of course they think MDMA is going to "blow up" in the near future resulting in a large portion being drawn to the use of there antidepressants.

Please make more suitable statements before you go discrediting certain aspects to better suite your desireable forte.

When you say you're sure... you mean you actually went out, got a grant, conducted a study, got evidence, and the scientific community all agreed on your findings? Or are you being more hypocritical and talking out of your ass when instead people are funding research to try and find answers for your sake and many others?
