ok... i am prescribed 16mg of suboxone and 100mg of soloft. i only take between 4 & 8mg of the sub and the full 100mg of the zoloft everyday. i have decided to take myself off of my zoloft (did that yesterday) as i want to do some molly this weekend. i have heard that any ssri will decrease the effects of the molly... and i don't want that. i was wondering, though, if the suboxone might do the same. i didn't take any today just in case, and if it does decrease or kill the effects of the molly i'm not going to take any until the day after i roll. if anyone could tell me what mixing these two things will do, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance! :)

How long have you been on them for, and why are you taking them?

Often times you have to stop taking an SSRI for a long time before you can roll again, and sometimes they've messed with your receptors so much that it doesn't matter if you stop taking them or not. There's also an increased chance of serotonin syndrome if your on an SSRI. There's a lot of info on this in the directory, you can also just search 'SSRI' in the search function and you'll find plenty of info.

I would not recommend getting off an SSRI to roll as rolling depletes a lot of your serotonin, and your SSRI is there to keep it in... this can lead you to even more depression. Also, for MDMA to even be effective, you have to be off your SSRI for some time.. there is a thread regarding SSRIs and MDMA. I do not know about suboxone though.

thanks to both of you. i've only been on the zoloft for a little under 3months and am on it for postpartum depression... the suboxone i've been taking since september 30th of last year. i'm only taking myself off of the meds until the day after the roll. i haven't rolled in 8yrs, so i'm really looking forward to it and don't want anything to take away from it, ya know?

If you're taking it for depression, then maybe you shouldn't take MDMA. Rolling depletes serotonin, and if you have depression, that could be really bad. You'd have to stop taking the drugs for an extended period of time in order to roll again.

that really sucks to hear. i was hoping, since the acid i've been taking for the past 2 days worked, that the molly would work as well. so i pretty much just blew my money for nothing? damn, that really sucks! thanks again though for the advice! :)

gotcha. i got curious and took a little less than a theraputic dose and got a kinda trippy effect from it. i have quite a large quantity... just hope it's not a waste. :)

Molly is something you normally shouldnt give yourself teaser doses of honestly (+You will just want it more :) It's not trippy its EUPHORIC as hell ;)

but yeah if you do try it you may have to take the normal amount or a little more. I know people who have tried rolling who are on multiple SSRI's/daily benzo use/vyvanse etc not recommended but they are alive.

i've experienced molly once before... but it's been about 10+yrs ago. i've also experienced multiple different types of x pills. the last time i rolled was off of a blue star and that was 8yrs ago. what i got last night was a hallucinogenic effect. i had taken lsd for the past couple days though, so that might be why. i got a slight euphoria... very slight, but i did around 15-20mg... not nearly enough to roll. i haven't taken my ssri since 6am monday and plan on rolling tomorrow evening with my husband. we have 1g and plan on bringing one other person along. whether or not the other person joins is subject to change. it may just be my husband and me. there are all the details... if that can help you or anyone else help me on the subject any more than what you ALL have already helped, that would be awesome! thanks a million to all of you who have given me the info/suggestions/and advice that i have been seeking. :)

You were right in asking us for advice, but you don't seem to be listening to it. SSRIs effect your brain for longer than you take them, even if you wait a week, it will still have that effect on your brain. You can get serotonin syndrome pretty easily by taking these risks, especially if your only off your meds for such a short time. If your on an SSRI it's a big risk to take MDMA, no matter what.

Does pre-treatment/being on ssris for a while before a roll prevent toxicity as well? Because if you don't roll, then I can't imagine toxicity occurring.

I tried it and I got really shaky and just felt brain dead and anxious. It wasnt fun, I'm not exactly sure the symptoms of SS. Aren't they like all or nothing kinda deal? I dont think it leads to long term problems, just acute risks.

OP - don't roll on ssris it's a bad trip.

I would seriously advise against discontinuing an SSRI without consulting a dr to get a proper taper regimen. SSRI withdrawal is absolute hell, although you may not get it too bad if you've only been on it for 3 months. And like everyone else has said, you probably wont feel much from taking molly by stopping for a couple days. It can take longer than a month for some SSRIs to leave your system completely.

i understand what you're saying and am taking all of the advice given into consideration. while, i most likely will not follow it because i haven't rolled in soooo very long and i am soooo very stubborn and it seems that it would be a waste of cheese to not at least try. and, knowing my luck, i will probably end up with serotonin syndrome (i hope like hell not, or if i do that it doesn't fucking kill me) and will probably discontinue the use of the ssri as it is pretty useless to me anyway. while you're help, as well as everyone elses, is greatly appreciated... i'm not gonna sit here and lie and say that i will take the advice. i know it is extremely risky... but, there are so many people that say "oh, well, i've done this in such and such a way and it didn't effect it at all" or "i've done it like this and it completely diminished the effect of the roll" or "i've done it like this and it intensifies it" (and i know that the last one is total bullshit, but i have to see if maybe the first one rings true, ya know?). i know, pretty fuckin stupid decision... but i guess i will just have to find out for myself. thanks for all of the advice, information, suggestions, and concern. wish me luck, please! i need all the luck i can get... lol. and if i make it through it without/with a slight form of serotonin syndrome, i'll make sure to post and let you all know how it went. after that, go ahead and feel free to say "fucking told you so"... i don't care to be called out about being a dumbass about certain things. :)
sorry for the rant... been experimenting with shit i haven't experimented with in many years....

and... about serotonin syndrome... here's a list of drugs/meds that can give you that shit by themselves as well as in combinations (at least 4 of which i was prescribed at one time and multiple that i have experimented with): Antidepressants: Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs),[1] TCAs,[1] SSRIs,[1] SNRIs,[1] bupropion,[6] nefazodone,[7] trazodone[7]
Opioids: tramadol,[1] pethidine,[1] fentanyl,[1] pentazocine,[1] buprenorphine[8] oxycodone,[9] hydrocodone[9]

5-HT1 agonists: triptans[1][10]
Psychedelics: MDMA,[1] MDA,[1] 5-Methoxy-diisopropyltryptamine,[1] LSD[12][13]
Herbs: St John's Wort,[1] Syrian rue,[1] Panax ginseng,[1] Nutmeg,[14] Yohimbe[15]
Others: tryptophan,[1] L-Dopa,[16] valproate,[1] buspirone,[1] lithium,[1] linezolid,[1][17] dextromethorphan,[1] 5-hydroxytryptophan,[7] chlorpheniramine,[10] risperidone,[18] olanzapine,[19] ondansetron,[1] granisetron,[1] metoclopramide,[1] ritonavir[1]

i'm not saying it can't happen to me... but it hasn't yet... and there are a lot of drugs on that list that i have taken (prescribed or not). :)

You need at least 2-weeks; 1 month off of this drugs; 100mg zoloft is a big DOSE, so i belive it has been long in your brain, not big deal with suboxone, but if you are on this drugs then you should probably ask yourself do you need them? because you will not roll at all, and put your life afterwards into hardcore anxiety...idk...
