Hi everybody, im 15 years old and just joined this site today, ill start by saying six months ago, i tried ecstacy for the first time, it was the most amazing ive ever felt in my entire life, it was undescribable. unfortuntly the comedown was the most awefull expirence of my life, it lasted for 2 days, i went back to normal, i thought i was fine, but then i was hanging out with a friend, we were going to take some bong rips, i took my rip, and the second it reached my lungs i knew something was wrong, i was having a flashback, then my comdown came back and lasted for about 2 weeks, ever since then ive been noticing hppd symptoms, i have visual snow, i see colors and flashes when my eyes are closed, and really intense halos at night, i have depersonalization, and derealasation, it gets really intense when i smoke weed, but the most bothersome symptom that i havnt really heard of, is really intense sensations in my face, its pretty much contant tingling, or just generally being aware of my face, im looking to see if this has happened to anyone else due to ecstacy.

p.s i dont like having to deal with hppd, but at the same time, its like my mind has been open, or free, its hard to explain. ide really like to here what people have to say about this, thanks

Uhhh.... Are you sure what you took was MDMA? A lot of people sell similar substances as MDMA, and you wouldn't be able to tell if you've never rolled before. You need to be more careful about this kind of stuff. You're still very young and your brain has A LOT of growing to do.

If you seriously think whatever you took gave you these problems, you really need to see a doctor. I know the last thing you want to do right now is tell your parents or doctor about this, but this is a serious problem. If you have anything like Planned Parenthood nearby, you should go in and talk to them. Planned Parenthood has real doctors you can talk to and they won't judge you, they also won't call your parents and tell them.

You're still very young and you don't want to be messed up from drugs at such a young age. I don't think what you took was MDMA (the 'ecstasy' part of ecstasy) and you really need to figure this out. If you plan on continuing doing 'e' you should buy a test kit. They cost about 20 bucks a pack and will tell you what's in whatever pills you buy. You can get them online from DanceSafe or EZTest

I doubt you took real MDMA. I began rolling around your age and never felt anything like this. At the same time it was a horrible mistake and you should really not take it again for a few years as it is one of my biggest regrets that I started rolling so early.

When you do a Google search on MDMA and HPPD, you do find a few results- it's not impossible.

6 months is a fairly significant amount of time to still have HPPD from one experience. I certainly have experienced mild HPPD for up to a week from 2c-i and MDA.

I personally would not fear trying MDMA again, but I would pre-load with piracetam and post-load with 5-htp if you choose to.

If you have serious HPPD to the point where it bothers you arent you not supposed to do drugs?

I have HPPD it doesnt bother although has been intense before at slightly inappropriate times

i also think i have hppd but very little nothing intense. I see it just when i stare at a wall. I first noticed after the last time i dropped which was over six months ago. i does get worse when i smoke weed. I would avoid all drugs for now.

^^BSiren I told him that because he is 15 years old! There is no way you can honestly say a person that age should be consuming MDMA, real or not.

Regardless of what you took, it seems like maybe psychedelics aren't for you if you developed HPPD after one time. Some people are a lot more sensitive than others. How much did you take?
It's not advisable to smoke weed while you have these symptoms, as it tends to make it worse for most people. It would probably be best to stop taking any drugs until you feel better and seek medical advice.

I had HPPD for months following MDMA use. Eventually, my vision straightened out.
I had feelings of dizziness or spatial distortions, too.
I also had sensations on the facial and scalp nerves.

The HPPD is caused by serotonin up-regulation in the visual cortex. This happens to maintain bloodflow to this region. When serotonin levels drop, certain parts of the brain experience a drop in bloodflow.

This is why you are having sensations on your face. Different parts of the brain are connected directly to the nerves on the face/head. That's why elderly people with strokes sometimes have facial paralysis. What you are feeling is decreases/increases in blood flow to specific regions of your brain.

This is backed up by human research. For some heavy users, this can last for many months. Even for the heavy users, blood distribution eventually returns to normal!

You were not a heavy user, so you will be fine.
It may take a few days/weeks....but you will return to normal.
And yes, this could very well happen from pure MDMA. The assertion that you must have taken an adulterated dose is a form of denial on the part of those that love MDMA.

The fact is that MDMA is a very powerful drug and a potent neurotoxin. It has been proven to make permanent alterations in the 'brain-gut' circuitry. MDMA, as well as all serotonergic drugs, acts on the nerves that connect the intestines to the brain. This network of nerves is HIGHLY complex and varies from person to person.

Although most people do not experience such bad effects from one use, it is not unheard of. Your young age is a risk factor, by the way. Your brain won't be fully developed until your mid-twenties. You may also be genetically susceptible to MDMA induced toxicity. That sucks, but it may be true.

I strongly suggest you research MDMA prior to ever using it again. There is a mountain of evidence out there, and it can be difficult to sift through. I encourage you to view my profile and read my other posts, as I have translated much of the jargon into English.

Try to ignore the countless users of MDMA that insist the drug is safe if done correctly. Science contradicts this view and they have real evidence on their side. Even for people that do not report any negative effects, there is clear evidence that alterations to the 'brain-gut' network are happening anyways. Of course, there are other neurotoxins that work on the serotonin network. You may have taken a piperazine, which is a new class of serotonergic/dopaminergic substances.

Many types of mental illness are tied to genetics. Those that are susceptible have a MUCH higher risk of mental problems if they are drug users...even just marijuana. Is there any mental illness in your family?

The basic rules of MDMA use are:

Space your rolls out by at LEAST 90 days. It can take this long for the body to replenish the lost serotonin. Rolling before you are replenished increases the negative effects.

Never take more than 300mg per night. It is unnecessary and harmful. Re-dosing has been proven to carry the most risk. You get less high, and more damage.

Do NOT over-consume liquids. Drink moderate amounts of electrolytes, such as gatorade.
Vitamin C in high doses may offer some protection.

Keep your body temperature LOW. Do not wait until you feel hot, make sure you are in a cool environment to begin with.

Oh yeah, and stop rolling at such a young age. You have many years of possible drug use ahead of you - no need to get a jump start. Wait until you are at least 18 or older.
Take care of yourself.

Hmmm, sounds kinda tight minus the depersonalization.
