US RC Bans (most 2C-xs)

I guess we should look at the bright side and be grateful that we(or at least some of us) had the chance to experience these chemicals and all they had to offer. A generation ago psychonauts and other fun types didn`t have access to obscure psychedelics via the mail or a knowledgeable friend. Plus there is still time to check these out before any new law passes.

^I don't think 2c-b was ever really manufactured and distributed like the others. (Was it? not sure..) The framework is already in place to just keep going business as usual with these 2c's. Domestic vendors of course will disappear from the dot com world but international vendors like money and there will be no shortage of them that will still ship.

2-CB was made in California by some chemistry student types back in the mid 90's for sure, 2-CB was called "Nexus" for whatever reason ,and 2-CT or something similar was also available in the rave/ underground trip scene then and into the early 2000's, I have not been around anyone thats still in California that could tell me if they are still around like they were.

I started doing 2C's in late 99, and 2C-B was the first one I ever came across. It has been illegal in the US for awhile but it was legal in the EU until the early 2000s and was easily available online (although the RC scene of 10 years ago is nothing like the scene today). It disappeared for awhile but it is certainly back on the scene now and has been for many years.. gotta love the global economy ;)

Since I'm reminiscing, back before ketamine was scheduled in 99 you could get kilos shipped to your door for a few hundred dollars. 99 or 2000 was the year GHB got scheduled as well, and all the suppliers of GHB switched to sending kits to make your own, you would get GBL and sodium hydroxide in the same package..

Then RC's started getting more popular and a couple kids died doing 2C-T-7 and that got scheduled too.

Also I remember when Methylone first him the scene in 2002 it used to be ridiculously expensive, it cost more then buying MDMA would cost (gram for gram)
I remember when GHB was easy to get anywhere, at health food stores, Vitamin stores, etc. as a body builders drug(why for body buiding I dunno), and I also remember when ketamine was easy to get, although it wa sschedule here in the US in the 90's I think, just not a schedule 1 or 2 ..vets had vials all ovee the place then and most did not think about anyone stealing ketamine to get high on then..lol..and the delivery of X grams to your door was cool also.

The only thing that I can think of using GHB while bodybuilding is inhibition reduction. I can be totally wrong here but that's the only thing that I can think of it really being useful for.

this bill is moving quicker than most people think. i give to the end of may maybe end of june until it passes

Body builders would take it after their work outs. Something about better sleep leading your body to release more HGH?

Ahh, that does make sense. I used to lift in amateur competitions and I can tell ya that when you're standing over a bar with several plates on it any little thing can help you. Hell for instance Arnold used to take a 32oz bottle full of beer to the gym with him everyday for the carbs and the mild alcohol effect to help stop his brain from telling him what he can and can't do.

Wonder if their choices of PEA's have anything to do with the vendor with that specific group of phens for sale ???

I think this is will have the same effect the cathinone ban in the UK had, these things will still be around, they will just become another of a long list of illegal but still available psychedelics.

dude that's awesome about arnie =) I had no idea he did that. I used to drink a can of sparks on the way to the gym every day for the same reasons

:!

The underlying idea seems to be that intoxication is wrong. :|

Yes, unless it there is an established corporation profiting from the sale of the chemical. For any other chemical, the pathway to a recreational drug is closed off apparently.

Um... Sad day? Hardly. The thing hasn't passed. It's not law. There's time to change things.

Contact your Representatives, your Senators, and it might not pass. There have been lots and lots of bills like these that never go anywhere.

And say what? "Please sir, don't ban these drugs" ? lol :D

I think the best thing to do is not attract to much attention to it and hope it doesn't gain any traction.

I would be willing to bet you a lot of money that this bill will pass. There is no way in hell any politicians would vote against this bill.

Sad day indeed, but it was bound to happen sooner or later. Those kids who OD'd on 2ce (at least that's what the media hype was about) was probably an important reason in creating this bill.

Wrong. This is a capitalist democracy. The best thing to do is be as vocal as possible, and spend as much money lobbying for your cause.

I'm sorry but that just sounds very naive to me. These are still drugs we're talking about. Safe and not very prone to abuse by our standards no, but drugs none the less. No politician with any real influence is going to face the wrath of The Soccermoms and The Media because he didn't want to protect the poor innocent children from the dangers of 'legal LSD'.

Letting any politician know about this bill is a sure way of getting them to back it for votes. Or hell, write their own one which includes even more substances.

edit: Ofcourse I agree with you in general, but regarding this bill specificaly, the anti-drug sentiment in the USA (and the rest of the world for that matter) is still way to prevalent for any politician to oppose it. Except ofcourse in case they support one that bans even more substances.

Unfortunately this is the way things go. Libertarians have for years pushed the idea of MJ legalization for the monetary aspect, but it's never taken hold because "these are dangerous drugs we talking bout"

My congresspeople have all gotten elected on small business rep platforms; maintenance of industry(read-->STATUS QUO) and most importantly learning and performance in schools.

My request would be viewed as as vehement opposition to their corrupt need for re-election and in essence asking them to get out of bed with the aforementioned things.

Send the letters if you can...get responses; it'll be the same PR bullshit excuses not even written by the congressperson you wrote to.

I'm a pessimist about future direction, but thankful for the opportunity to participate in essence the re-incarnation of the 60's and 70's.

Hunter S. Thompson mentioned something about a high water mark on the 'Frisco scene in '64 I think. along those lines 2011 might be the high water mark--but *life* went on then and will now.

Consider this a lucky generation to be a part of: all the best to offer and not too much technology to create a dystopian '84-esque life (patriot act, healthcare bill are pushing mighty fucking close though...)

Does anyone have an idea when this will take place? I would love to take the advantage while I still can, but my funds are a bit tight at the moment.

They don't have to vote against it. These bills die in committee and never see a vote constantly. Want to guess how many Salvia bills have died without ever seeing a vote just at the federal level?
