Someone who will be taking MDMA a party of mine for her first time, has epilepsy.
She's never taken MDMA before however she's on pipes right now and has told me to turn off the strobes that she can get out of the room before an issue.

But we'll be going to have a strobe in 2 rooms and lazers in the other, (Well, lazers in all rooms)
I just don't want the risk of an epileptic seizure in my house,
and what do I do if she has one?

Call an ambulance if she's having a medical emergency- we cannot assist you in helping a person having a seizure. Don't allow her to be in a risky position to have one. Did she knowingly take piperazine?

You're much better off consulting a medical professional, or even doing a web search on seizures and what procedures to follow. It's much better to prevent one from happening, so please have her avoid anything that could trigger one.

I just wanted to know if this was a risky situation.
And yes she knowingly took piperazines,
people think pipes are rolling in the town I'm in right now -.-

Wait, you're talking in two tenses here. Do you mean she's on pipes now, but will be on MDMA for this party at a later time, or that she's on pipes and shes at the party now?

If this is a problem now, put her in a room that doesn't have strobes, or simply turn them off. It doesn't matter if your 'ruining other peoples fun' by turning them off if it's a medical emergency. I have epilepsy, and have never had a problem with MDMA, pipes however, could be a problem. If you mean she'll be at a party with strobes at a later point in time, then do two things. 1. Make sure she has real MDMA, and not pipes. 2. Make sure theres atleast one room without strobes she can hang out in.

You guys also may want to consider the fact that if her epilepsy is severe enough for this to be a real problem, maybe these types of parties aren't the kind of parties she should be at, especially when on drugs. She can always just roll with friends at a different time without all the strobes and stuff.

I apologize for not explaining myself. She's on Piperazines now, and was getting fuzzy with the strobes, and explained that she was an epileptic, so we're worried about later. She wantes to try MDMA at the party.
She's on Piperazines and Methoxetamine right now.

There's no way to get away from the lights at the party honestly, but you have epilepsy and have no issues?

if she has epilepsy, she should stay away from strobe lights altogether. she can try real mdma at a party, but make sure she isnt in an area with flashing lights. she can roll and have a good time without putting her in a dangerous situation. I've had seizures before, and I make sure to stay away from flashing lights. If I'm around them, I can start to tell that somethings wrong and quickly leave the area and gain my composure.

Well, if her ecstasy is severe, then she may not want to go to the party honestly, only she knows how severe it is and how much the strobes affect her.

Yes, I have epilepsy and generally have no problems, but I also don't have Grand Mal seizures, or, well, I've only had one once. The types of seizures I have are different from the severe shaking most people think of.

The first kind can kind of be described as spacing out, my mind just goes entirely blank. I don't shake or anything, but all of my senses get turned off everything goes black and I cant see, hear, smell, taste, or feel anything. These can last from a few seconds to a few minutes.

The second kind is the annoying one. I shake for about a second, and then my right leg (or usually my right leg) goes really tense and paralyzed. I can't move it and it hurts like hell.

Both of these kinds of epilepsy suck, and I'm so lucky to have two types of epilepsy (NOT!) but they aren't nearly as bad as Grand Mal seizures, which are the worst to deal with. If your friend is sensitive enough to the strobes that it will cause her to have a seizure, she really shouldn't take the chance. She should do drugs another time, and just skip this party.

Thanks for the advice.

sakura.summers- dont feel bad. no offense to anyone...but if you have epilepsy...of any severity... you should stay away from the rave scene. It's not safe. Just because you have gone without having a severe seizure or stroke is pure luck. One of these days...it's going to happen. Be smart and be safe. If you have any chance of having complications while taking mdma or ecstasy...STAY AWAY! it's not safe and it's not a good idea.

I don't feel bad that I told him not to have his friend go to this 'rave' party, that was good advice, I feel bad that she can't safely go to the party and do drugs, but likely will anyways. I feel bad that I couldn't have honestly told him that he and his friend could safely roll at this party without any problems. It sucks to not be able to do something all of your friends are doing because some sort of medical condition gets in your way.

Also, I never said I was a part of the rave scene, I don't go to raves often at all actually. Also, flashing lights don't trigger all types of epilepsy and they don't at all affect mine. I am aware of my medical conditions and do a lot of research about them before trying any new drugs. I know my own body and I've actually talked to doctors about whether or not MDMA was a risk for my epilepsy, which it's not.

That's whatsup.

I think that missing out on the MDMA experience, especially MDMA and raving is extremely missing out on a big part of life.
Without MDMA/raving,
I would seriously never have grown up,

and would easily have ended up commiting suicide by now,
or ending up with some serious regression/mother issues/ legal status, currently still on the run from the cops, and a serious fucking sociopath at that.

Strobes can trigger panic attacks and seizures even in people who don't have epilepsy. Famous case in a UK club in the sixties, when several people died.
I have had seizures when combining mdma with cannabis and poppers but no strobes.
I advise caution. Try doing ecstasy in a safe environment first. It doesn't have to be done at a rave.

It does sound like a risky situation. If she's going to try mdma, make sure there are no strobe lights and whatnot around.

I don't have epilepsy but I almost had a seizure the first time I took mdma and I get freaked out by strobe lights when I'm on it. I can't imagine it'd be great for her.

i seriously fucking hate whoever invented pipes. when people come to me and say they are rolling and are really on pipes, that pisses me off to no end, mainly at the "dealer" who sold them but also at them for not researching. fucking HATE pipes. sorry for pipe rant

chill dude...just test your own shit and be safe. Aint no reason for so much hate here <3

Call an ambulance if the fit goes on for more than a few minutes..

Do not try to put something in her mouth to bite down onto (like you see in some movies)

And do not try to restrain her.

Other than that tell her to take her medication..

Epileptic fits aren't that dangerous and suffers can normally identify when one is about to happen.

So this party is going to be at your house, and there "won't be any way to get away from the lights?" Sounds like an issue that you have the power to fix. Just set up a chill room. Why so insistent on having strobes/lasers in every room?

Agreed. Except, what's likely going to happen is no one will want to be in the chill room and she'll end up sitting there alone for the most part until she decides she 'doesn't care' and just goes into the strobe rooms anyways.
