Osama dead

Not at all I don't think.

Very slight chance of it de-motivating some Taliban?

Pretty sure US and friends wouldn't be stupid enough to try massive eradication. Cheers for the news though.

Pretty sure the CIA run the opium anyway. I swear i've heard the quote "better the profits for us rather than them"

Considering that it is overwhelmingly likely that he has been dead since December 2001, not much.

According to alt. press outlets Osama and his buddies put pressure on the Taliban to cut opium production in the first place. One of the objectives of invading Afghanistan was to get opium production back on track.

Need $$$ to fund foreign policy objectives and keep the war on drugs relevant...

I was under the impression most aussie H still came from asia anyway, so even if this does somehow impact opium production in Afghanistan (which I doubt, considering the O man hasn't been there for quite some time) our supply line is completely unrelated.

But don't quote me on that.

^ Yeah that line about the opium was more of a 'this thread has nothing to do with AusDD' thing then a serious discussion point.

Interesting news though, I have to admit I'm glad to hear it.

THEY GOT HIM WOOOO

nuke the wales I rkn

^Good eyes man!

Didn't even notice that :|

Disregard it peeps.

as fo him being killed in the last 24 hrs i am highly dubious... he is either well dead and buried, or still kickin around in the underground somewhere... i would guess dead a long timw tho.

so we need to ask, why now has this come too light..?

the divided states of america are broke.

the war machine has swallowed somewhere close to half a trillion dollars in the last ten years, on this war on terror...

they cannot afford to continue with it on such a largee scale... it will continue, but they have to pare back... but they cannot be seen to admit to losing the battle.. they cannot say, "we cant afford to continue to search for ossama"...

the only feasible action is to fake his death now.. and begin to extricate themselves with some sense of pride...if false..
this will be a wonderful way to return a sense of patriotism to a nation that is seriously doubting itself..

this will for a while seem to be a positive... i am not so sure..

the American psyche is deeply embued with the need for a "boogey man" ...

they'll find someone new,
maybe the belt tightening will force them to spend less cash on that boogey man

but the collective psyche of that place/people is still based on a sense of superiority and self-rightousness which will need a counterpart,
a "bad man" to balance its self. "Gods chosen children" and the "evil one" are the two sides of one coin

i fear that with the surge in the police state of normal existence... where via the war on terror we have allowed big brother to institute itself as our protector, and allow it to remove so many of our social liberties, that if this war on terror ends... that the bastard war engine may then disappear from view, and turn itself to more furtive actions within its own borders...

i would prefer the devil i know, then devil i cannot see, if you follow me..

i am just running some thoughts here.. so i may be way off plot... but i find this entire saga... right from the 911 slieght of hand to this days news as rather orwellian.. and i find nothing to rejoice... for i fear the u.s. war engine and police state , far more than i feared ossamma bin laden... sure, ossama may have been involved with terrorism,,.. that is feasible.. but i think the biggest terrorist were the americans like bush and cheney who hatched a plot to destroy the towers and get into this false war for whatever reason...

greed is my answer to what reason.. many people interests were served and are still being served.. wars make money for all involved... sure, it costs the govt money.. but the cost goes some where eh.. when you buy something someone profits... so 400 billion dollars of war effort has gone to a group of lucky arms manufacturers, and everyone else that supports the war.. the cost in oil alone staggering...

so anyway... dont be so quick to one, believe in what the media is saying...thery are controlled by organisms much larger than themselves and are merely a voice
two.. believe the american war machine and its leaders... they pulled off 9/11 didnt they...

and three.. dont rejoice too quickly...

about the h/ opium question... i seriously doubt it will change at all...

it would seem that seeings as soon as the u.s engine was in afghanistan they had to get in bed with opium growers, and were actively protecting them
and actively profiting... or at least allowing the taliban and al quada to profit so they could continue to fund their side of the war...

for this is what it is all about, and why i believe they were all in it together.. the bush and bin laden families were, and are , old friends, ... and just like the rockefeller and rothchilds before them, that were the main profit winners from world war one and two, so now have these other empires profited from a war, that has been invented... bush loved to brag about fighting war in two different theatres... and they did... the mountain war and the urban war...

anyway.. i am out...

a little confused, was it the 'goodies' or 'baddies' that just had a 'win'?

Definition of a 'terrorist'...

:(

Yeah I saw that later. Kinda suss 8)

the war machine has swallowed somewhere close to half a trillion dollars in the last ten years, on this war on terror...

Given the US military expenditure is over half a trillion dollars per year I'd be surprised if they hadn't spent far more than that in ten years on the war on terror.

I agree that a lot of pieces fit in the 9/11 conspiracy theory, but just because people in power stood to gain doesn't mean they are to blame. Also it would've required a considerable number of loyal conspirators to be able to undertake.. I doubt we'll ever know for sure what happened :\

so anyway... dont be so quick to one, believe in what the media is saying...thery are controlled by organisms much larger than themselves and are merely a voice

I think the media itself is the large organism, being controlled by a very small handful of self-interested people. Not quite 1984, but also far from ideal.

for this is what it is all about, and why i believe they were all in it together.. the bush and bin laden families were, and are , old friends, ... and just like the rockefeller and rothchilds before them, that were the main profit winners from world war one and two, so now have these other empires profited from a war, that has been invented...

Sounds like the theories in Zeitgeist. I don't get what the bin Ladens stood to gain from having Osama scapegoated?
