CASHMERE, Wash. (AP) — A bottle of morphine tablets from World War I has been stolen from a pioneer village at the Cashmere Museum.

The person who took the pills isn't likely to get high, because according to the Wenatchee Valley Medical Center the pills are too old to have any drug effect.

The Chelan County Sheriff's office told The Wenatchee World someone broke through a fence Friday night, kicked in a door and broke open an old glass case to get the pills on display in a period doctor's office.

Museum Manager Frey Harvey estimates repairs to the exhibit will cost about $3,000.

teenage mutant shitheads i would quess.

LOL, some friggin peckerhead took it.

Once again, bad journalism. Morphine is stable and from all the literature I have scoured states it should be fine.

I would guess they are solvents which means they should be really easy to IV, or even safe for IM.

Don't make em like they used to.

Agreed. Morphine is incredibly stable and should provide quite an effect for whomever stole it. That's quite a story man, imagine that shit hitting the market. "I got some grandaddy morphine salts yo! Hit me up!"

^It would be a shame if whoever stole them sold them, if you ask me.

That's quite a find, I'm actually surprised the museum didn't empty the container beforehand...

^ So true, if that was me and I had the 100 year old morphine bottle I would totally RP it up and pretend I just bought it from the apothecary and shoot that shit all night while drinking tea and reading some Oscar Wilde...that's just me though, and I ain't quite right.

^ Nah dude that was just a simple smash/grab. I have allegedly done robberies before and a smash/grab isn't very sophisticated. They basically just went to the museum during it's operating hours, scoped their entry/escape route and went from there. They got away with it though so good for them.

That's still a level of skill and another level of determination.

No skill at all involved, and they probably got their determination from a bottle of whisky, I knew people who did smash/grabs and they were usually grimy scumbags. Now commiting a true robbery on the other hand is what requires skill. A true expert or an accomplished novice would be able to remove that bottle without causing damage.

^ Dude imainge, what a story to tell man...the only thing that I think would be cooler would be trying a 100 year old bottle of Absinthe. Actually in hindsight that would probably be a really bad idea, but still!
