Questions regarding Tramadol

Now, I'll start off with my normal drug of choice/intake first. I normally take 3000-3750mg of vicodin through out the day, 3 or 4 days a week (2or3 750's, 2 times a day). The other days it's usually 2 or 3 750's, just once a day.

With that said, I've come across Tramadol 50mg. 15 of them. I have zero experience with these and I've been reading up on them on this website (and would post in those topics but most of them have been archived/closed). I see a lot of responses that the withdrawals suck, maybe even more so than vicodin. Now, I only plan on taking these 15 over the next 3-4 days or so.. then that will be it for good. I know that last sentence is alarming and "famous last words".. but really.. I never come across these, ever, until now and once they're gone, they're gone. So, my question... will I have a big withdrawal from these if I'm only taking them for a few days? 4 at most. I guess I should expect a little bit- but some people here have said they are brutal mentally. But I would assume they've been taking them for a long time, or have had a couple prescription fills of them at least. And if I really need to, I guess I could get through it with more vicodin.. but I wasn't really planning on taking any of those while doing trying these trams.

Thanks for reading/appreciate any replies.. or tips.. like I said, I'm new to this one.

I assume when you say you take 3000mg of hydrocodone you mean the APAP in the hydros correct?

Tramadol is nice but nothing like hydrocodone. It feels like a stimulant/SSRI/mild opiate all in one. Feels very "synthetic" if you know what I mean. That being said it is great for w/d.
The w/d feels bad but not on par with hydrocodone in my opinion.

You should STRONGLY consider CWE (cold water extraction) to take the APAP out. Search this site. You are just beating up on your liver.

In my experience, the only thing tramadol helps me with is withdrawals. I would not expect the same euphoria from the tramadol that you get from the Vicodin. With that being said, if you do not have withdrawals from the amount of Vicodin you take, I don't think you would get them from tramadol.

This is not the law, and everyone is different.

Yes. Unfortunately.

Yeah, I've read about it and watched videos. I guess I was afraid of messing up/losing some of the hydrocodone.. also, didn't plan on taking them this long (I'm sure most of us have played that game). But you're definitely right- if I'm not gonna stop any time soon I should at least do it the right way.

I do get withdrawals from the Vicodin.. I take it pretty consistently. I can tolerate the physical withdrawals pretty well from it if I have to go a couple days without.. but the worst part is the mental aspect. And I just got curious about the trams because some people here have said the mental aspect of the withdrawal is bad. I guess I'm just trying to figure out if I can get a bad WD from them just from 15 of them in a 3-4 day range, and it happen to coincide with a day or two where I don't have vicodin. That's all I'm really afraid of.. would it be even worse than the normal vicodin withdrawal?

I have tried Tramadol and Kratom for those in between times while I'm waiting to get more hydros filled. I have been a lot more impressed with kratom in the killing off w/d symptoms. It makes work tolerable while in w/d which is an awesome thing! It is addicting as well so as always tread slowly.

Give your liver a break man. Either get stuff without APAP or take the time to learn how to do a CWE. Trams are alright, but if your used to actual opiates then they aren't that very good. Be careful with trams because they lower your seizure threshold.

Hey ann!
I've been on tramadol for a long time and am pretty clued up on them, i started out with instant releasers then switched to slow releasers. My experiance is when they work there absolutely fantastic but when they stop working its hell, i started with 100mgs of slow releasers on getting up (which is what your supposed to take every 12 hours) to 1400mgs at once in two months cos my tollerance built so fast, i had to taper down and come of for a few weeks to get my tollerance down, and be warned, if you get hooked you must taper down, it took me two months of everyday use to get hooked and i thought i could just stop, MAJOR MISTAKE, I hit megga dysphoria and wanted to kill myself, i ran out and found myself doing cwe's on co codamol which helped a tiny bit but really sucked by comparison. In short the withdrawels from tramadol suck big time no matter what anyone says, it can be your best friend in the world or your worst enemy of your life so please take my advice and be carefull, take a break every couple of weeks for a week or so, you won't be hooked at all and your tollerance will be kept at bay. I learned this the hard way and now take a break every so often and i also take the otc antihistamine benadryl to potentiate it which seems to work well for me! As always have fun but play safe!!!

Fuck tramadol. I was taking it to help withdrawls and ended up taking it longer than expected.... And upped my doses because my tolerance built up quickly. I'm on day three of withdrawl and it sucks! I had to stopped cold turkey because I was all out of everything and right now I do not have the money to buy anymore and I'm not going to because the shit is pointless. Yet the withdrawal symptoms were worse yesterday seriously I was in a lot of pain, couldn't sleep or eat and was throwing up. Trust me I've gone through hydro withdrawal and it didn't suck as bad as tramadols. Just stay away I'm telling you. Seriously I learned my lesson...the hard way.

Thanks for the replies drewboy/alwaysblazed. It sounds like my fears were right about the WD and appreciate your advice. But, the main thing here that I mentioned earlier.. it will only be these 15 I have and then my Tram days are over. It's something I've never really come across in my days messing with things, but yesterday I came across 15 and figured I'd give 'em a try, knowing I won't be able to find them even if I wanted to.. which I shouldn't, because I've already got my own other vice that does me just fine. I just took two 50mgs.. and one 750mg vicodin. I've heard the two together can be a great feeling so gave it a shot.

Edit: well its been about an hour now since I took the little cocktail. yeah. this could be trouble.. zero anxiety, feel like I could give a speech in front of the entire planet, and a good body buzz. lol- no really its nice but I can take or leave most things in life- vicodin will always be the struggle.
