Last night I packed out my bong with a little weed and anywhere from 30-50 mg of DMT. My main goal was to have a breakthrough experience. I have had 3 DMT trip before this, all very interesting and visual but no breakthroughs (besides the second time, might have had a breakthrough but don't remember one single part of it If I even did)

Now, last night I took the hit and felt initial effects beggining as I held in the smoke. Not paying much attention to OEV's, I close my eyes and get ready to "breakthrough".

When I opened my eyes I felt the memory slipping so fast! The ONLY part I can remember that definitaly happened was seing past points of my life (not sure which ones) and thinking that I need to hand my resume in to a certain job I have been thinking about) It almost felt like my life flashed before my eyes up to my current point in life.

I feel like I did have a breakthrough, but it didn't feel anything like what has been described as a breakthrough. It didn't even feel psychedelic, It was like a completly lucid dream of whats happened/happening in my life. SO DIFFERENT from any other DMT experience I've had.

So, my question for any of you is, have you ever had an experience like this? Does it sound like I did have a breakthrough? I feel as If I did and I cant fully remember it. Like a title wave of information slammed into my brain and my brain couldn't possibly retain all this information.

Predose with an MAOi next time; they slow things down. Remember the diet contraindications if you plan on trying this.

my experience of a proper break through was everything dissolved, i fell downards into the void and became a part of everything. i cant remember too much but it was intense and deep. when i came back it took me a few moments to realize im actually a human being, and ive just been tripping. i thought i had died. felt like i was tripping on magic mushrooms for a few minutes after. left me shaking

I've always found DMT to have very strange effects on the memory. Usually I have a hard time remembering the trip, and also about an hour or so before and after the trip is hard for me to have a good recollection of.

The oddest thing about it, is that the next time I do DMT, I will "pick up where I left off" and immediately have access to memories of those past experiences until the DMT wears off again. I think its a very salient example of state-dependent memory.

So weird, I wanted to take another hit an hour or so later because I felt like I would be able to just 'pick up' where I had left off and remember what had happned. I've never done this before but it just felt like I would be able to do that..ended up not doing it though..

As for predosing with maoi's, does it make the trip any less intense? I love the intensity of the trip, just not remembering it makes me frustrated, it seemed like so much importance was in that trip and now I can't utilize it.

i don't see how that could be possible, because MAO inhibitors will make your body metabolize the DMT slower than usual. that's the reason why they are used for ayahuasca, because DMT wouldn't be active orally without it.

imo the trip would be at least longer in duration, maybe stronger. no own experience here though, just what i gather from reading around a lot ^^

I only drank a weak rue tea before smoking dmt once, and it was not a breakthrough dose. The higher doses are really overwhelming, I dont know anything about combinations at higher amounts. My experiences with DMT have been quite varied, howver Ive also experienced what Roger was saying about how the experiences can flow.

It has been almost 20 months since I last tasted the spice. Doing an extraction tomorrow. Very excited.

Yes, this same thing happened to me on my 2nd experience smoking DMT. It was my first breakthrough, just as I was about to get out of my body up into that light which seems to be coming from above and behind me, I relived my daughter being born, my son being born, myself as a little boy, and a few other memories, it was not psychedelic at all, it was exactly how it really happened. Then it went right back to being insanely psychedelic and I became everything. After coming back into my body I couldn't speak for a few minutes, I just sat there staring at my friends smiling.
I've since smoked it around 30 times and have not had anything like it happen again, it's just pure psychedelic stuff now. Very weird!

I know the feeling with DMT. Best thing to do is literally just write down or voice record what happened as soon as u come back to reality. For some reason its much easier to recall what happened

Yeah I guess that it would be best to employ techniques that people use to recall dreams better, such as keeping a 'dmt diary' where each experience is recalled as soon as you are able to
