Opioids I only get high off opiates??

I apoligize if this has been asked before, I tried the search but didn't find anything.

Ok so I'll start with some basic info about my drug use. I started using drugs when I was 12, the first drug I did (other than weed or alcohol) was E. I used E, coke, weed, and alcohol on and off until I was 17 and found my reason for living... opiates. I'm 23 now and have been using heroin on and off for 4 years. I am currently on suboxone, but I don't take too much (less than 1mg/day, not every day), and still shoot heroin pretty frequently. I must have a naturally high tolerance to opiates, cause when I do as much as friends who use about the same amount as me I don't get nearly as high as they do.

So anyway, here's the problem: my boyfriend got some meth last week (my 3rd time doing it), and we both did the same size lines. He felt good off it and me... I fell asleep. WTF?? Then a few days ago my boyfriend and I both took 1 E pill each, he was completely messed up from it and I felt absolutely nothing. I was in a better mood, but nothing else. We decided to try again the next night, and the same thing happened. Anyone know why I can't get high from anything other than opiates?? It makes absolutely no sense to me...
 
You from Philly by any chance? The dope scene is big where I'm from. Never seen meth around at all though. Drugs effect people differently. Some drugs just don't have an effect on certain people. For example I would never get anywhere close as high as my friends would when we were doing the same coke together. I attributed this to my depression and the lack of dopamine or whatever levels in my brain was already lacking, so the cocaine use didn't really do shit for me. Heroin was manna from the Gods for me however...
 
I'm from Allentown, it's about 2 hours away from Philly. I don't like uppers at all, but my boyfriend does so I did it just to shut him up really. it just doesn't make sense to me because I have gotten high from both E and meth in the past.

Could be you have a really high natural tolerance to stimulants. Other than that, I cant think of anything else.
 
Had you taken heroin that day or bupe within the last few? I could imagine opioids in your system effecting a stimulant high. Other than that it could all be in your head or you could have altered the levels of neurotransmitters in your brain (also kind of all in your head ;)).

As you don't like stimulants I wouldn't worry about it too much and if you are worried about it I would think cutting back on your drug use would be the place to start. All we can do is speculate over the internet.
 
I almost made a thread about this same topic. I have a similar story to you, started using drugs at about 13, 23 now. Went through the whole echelon and ended up on opiates until earlier this year. I've tried a couple different stims and stuff lately, nothing works. Even massive doses. I can fall asleep after minutes, seriously. Alcohol doesn't even seem to get me fucked anymore! I was on Methadone for a total of about 2 years, Suboxone before that. I don't know if my brain is just depleted or what, but I can be stone cold sober, take 100mg of Dex and fall the fuck asleep.

Weed always works.

I would like to know what's going on too! And if anyone needs more info, ask.
 
I have the same exact thing going on. I don't know if it's from the suboxone or what... I used to take one adderall an be happy all night, but today I popped one on my way to work and I am feeling almost nothing from it. It seems that the only thing that has any effects on me anymore is heroin. I wish I knew what was going on!
 
uppers usually effect me different then most people because i have AD/HD like addys and shit like that
even meth but the times i did meth i was fucked up to some degree but i know what u talkin about
but when i take opiates or benzos i feel them more..or maybe i like them better so i think i do

you have to realize alotta things like this can be in your head
 
The only thing I can thing of that would cause this is somehow my extended use of heroin somehow lowered my dopamine and seratonin levels or for some reason made my tolerance for the other substances increase. I'm not sure why this would happen though. I also used to do a lot of ecstasy so that may also be a factor, although in between my ecstasy and heroin use I was able to get pretty high using low doses of adderall. It wasn't until after the prolonged heroin use that all of this started happening.
 
For years i couldnt get high from coke, i used to think i was getting ripped off but my mates would try some of it and would be wrecked , i couldnt figure it out but after a break for a couple of years i managed to pick some up again and ended up totally wrecked from it

I think at the time when i used to feel nothing it was cos i was a heavy XTC user and the rush you get from xtc with the come on and everything is way more intense so when i took coke and wasnt getting anything from it it was cos i was too used to the kind of high from the XTC and then since i had a break and wasnt used to it any more it started to work for me

Another reason could be cos when i was using it and feeling nothing i was in my early to mid 20's then the next time i was in my late 20's and i believe my body had changed in the way things effected me and as they say ur always changing so maybe thts why

so maybe its your tolerance to certain drugs are high like the way i was
 
I'm that way with coke also. It wasn't until I recently got some really pure, un-cut coke that I actually felt the effects from it. What's weird is that I tried coke before ex and didn't feel anything. Maybe I just have a natural tolerance to that stuff for some reason. I always wondered if my parents doing drugs lowered my tolerance to whatever they were using for some reason. I'm sure it's possible.
