used to get paranoid taking mephedrone due to how cardotoxic it is, and its metobolite was actually a cardtioxin.

Been a long time since ive used stims but could do with some for some jobs for staying up.

How cardiotoxic is Ritalin, its prescribed all ovr the world for adhd so it cant be too bad its given out like candy!

Any drug scientists herer know how is effects your heart :p

thanks

Probably about as bad as cocaine, which is kinda bad. It's effects are actually closer to coke than amphetamine, which are strangely less cardiotoxic than cocaine. Holler if you need a reference for that, I've read it many times :)

It's all about dose and frequency. Take it by mouth, don't combine with other stims and avoid overheating/dehydration and you should be okay.

ok thank you, will take it real slow.Surely if it was as cardiotoxic as cocaine it wouldnt be handed out so much :p they even give it to kids, could that not cause long term heart damage?

How about combining with low dose (5-10mg) valium, to control the jitters?

its not as bad as cocaine for your heart.. remember that cocaine is very bad. So that doesnt really say very much.

low dose valium is not a exactly dangerous but again doing it on a regular basis will have its negative effects on your system.

ah ok, so its like say caffeine?

have to say im quite enjoying it, like similar to average uk street coke, but far cheaper.

Personally I think Adderall/Dexedrine is harder on the heart than methylphenidate. On the prescribing information for Adderall there are special precautions listed in the black box that doses over 30mg in one dosing may be harmful to the heart. I don't remember seeing that on the methylphenidate prescribing info paper.

I agree. Amphetamines in general are more taxing on the entire cardiovascular system than methylphenidate. Amphetamines, particularly methamphetamine, are even more taxing on the cardiovascular system than cocaine is. But cocaine is more dangerous to the heart in the short-term because it is cardiotoxic.

lol, no it's an entirely different animal than caffeine.

Like others have said, it's not as bad for you as cocaine, but if you abuse it or take it in high enough doses it can get to the point where it does affect your heart negatively (which in that case cocaine wouldn't be that much worse for you by that point). The goal is to be responsible in how you use it (dosing & frequency). Just be safe.

Since we've established that all psychostimulants (cocaine, amphetamines, methylphenidate, etc) are bad for the heart in general and it doesn't appear like this thread will generate further discusssion, I'm going to close it.
