NJ a hub for drug trade

International drug traffickers dispatching waves of couriers have turned Newark Liberty International Airport into a major pipeline for shipments of cocaine and heroin, and a hub for illegal narcotics bound for Europe, a review of more than 70 drug-importation cases has shown.

How many slip through undetected is anyone's guess, but last year more than 228 people were arrested for smuggling heroin and cocaine into Newark and John F. Kennedy International airports, the vast majority of it destined for street sales in pockets of North Jersey and other New York-area communities.

A review by The Record of dozens of drug importation cases filed since 2005 shows that couriers fly into Newark from virtually every country in the Southern Hemisphere, but Costa Rica, Panama and the Dominican Republic are hot spots.

I thought it was gonna be one of those stories that goes on and on about how a shitload of drugs is comin thru but it was more mostly explaining the different ways of smuggling, the creative things that smugglers have done to package the drugs, etc. and all the different techniques the NJ LEOs have seen lately. So its def. a informative and interesting article. Theres a bunch of graphics on the page with the link that I couldnt post cuz they are Flash, but its graphs n stuff like that showing all the countries the drugs come from into NJ, the different amounts of each drug that they have seized each year (good news for the dope feens--heroin seizures are way down! lol.in the past few years they had a huge spike in the numbers but looks like this year that winning streak is over so maybe the d will start to go up in quality like it was in the pre-2005 era.but thats speculation for another thread.)

Anyways, I just thought the NJ heads on here would get a laugh outta this one. We all enjoy readin about our state and how much drugs are here and how we get all the good quality drugs first cuz were like the fuckin ground zero of drug importing on the east coast and all that shit, hey after all we a bunch of druggies so this is always good news for us right?

By the way, i know some of yall always check the comments too, and you should cuz the comments in this article are mad funny, and some of them are pretty damn good. Theres actually a few people in there writing about how stupid the drug war is, etc. heres one:

So much abject stupidity, I don't know where to begin. Whatever, Flidiots, you're a righteous crusader. I'm a pinko nogoodnik who is content to watch crazed addicts tear apart this country board by board and the insufficient fury which I direct at them makes me part of the problem. I'm typing this on an iPad that I bought with welfare money while I wait at the unemployment office to collect my next check. Since I don't care about America unless it's handing me money, you have to care twice as hard about our lovely country as I do. Now go lace up your boots, grab your shillala and beat some worthless addicts, you courageous blackshirt. Godspeed!

So def. check the comments if you got the time, theres some funny shit in there.

I remember coming back from Greece & my plane landed at JFK airport. Going threw customs, there were people in front of me that had come back from the Dominican Republic & they had some baked goods & breads. By the time customs official were done with the breads & baked goos, you could not eat it. They stuck there fingers all threw it crushing & crumbling it all searching for what I suspected was drugs but they didnt find anything. I felt sorry for those people, what a shame to do that to their food.

NJ Rules! This article doesn't surprise me in the least, everyone where I live goes to Jersey to cop their drug of choice, high quality, low price and always available. It's always an adventure too, driving through Patterson at night is fun.

Is Jersey really this bad?

I've never been but I read on here all the time about it being ghetto as hell. Not judging or anything, just wondering.

It's not so bad when you're entering, espically with out of state plates and the dealers know exactly what you're there for. It's after you copped that you should run any and all traffic lights and stop signs you can until you're on 80 West

You're saying its safer to get out quickly and do those two things than to follow all traffic laws and not get pulled over for those?

Jersey got hoods like everywhere, and it's also got some of the richest zipcodes in America. It's not that the murders and shit are so high in Jersey (cept maybe Camden), but it's more all drug crimes cuz it is open air as could be, with a few murders here and there.

As far as the runnin red lights, I don't think he was for real but I'd say anyone would advise against that.

Good article though, ain't no fuckin way I'd be smugglin somebody elses ki's for 2 measley ass grand that's what always gets me. Especially when they get American citizens to do it, I could see a Colombian or somebody from a poor ass country thinkin 2 grand was the jackpot but not somebody from here.

I was not being literal, it was an exaggeration. What I meant is after you get what you went there for it's not a good idea to go take in the nightlife, better to just be on your way.

yea for real i was like 2 gs? huh?

Jersey does got alot of murders tho, they aint just scattered thats for sure. last year newark had like 70 by june, lots of weekends in the summer 3 or 4 people get killed in 36 hours. paterson is a small ass city, but for a city of its size the murder/shootings are pretty high, all the ptown heads know about the cop that got killed in broad daylight inside broadway chicken lol.

And dont get me wrong, i aint like 'oh yea jersey murda capital' none of that shit, I aint tryna act like its some good shit to have high murder rate. Im just pointin out that it def aint "a few here and there", bcuz theres so many hoods out here cuz of the population density, theres alot of areas where shit is mad high.

Shit, I moved from down paterson way up to the stixx and for a non ghetto area, there has been alot of murders even up here lately, and its shit like people gettin stabbed to death, a double murder/suicide, a guy shot n killed and rolled up in a carpet and dropped off in a ditch, etc , its mad fuckn suprising cuz the spot its happenin aint hood at all.

I think its just bcz theres soo many ppl in jersey that it happens more than it does in other states where the population is all spread out and shit, IDK.

Anyways tho, that aint the point of the thread so im sorry to be gettin off topic...

And for the record, to answer the 'is it really that bad question' about runnin red lights and rushin back to route 80, people exaggerate this shit out here . Ive heard brownsville (Brooklyn for yall aint familiar with nyc) niggas talkin about how "paterson/newark is such a shit hole" and shit like that, but it gets a bad rap. Yea, paterson is gully, shit is ghetto as hell no doubt and lot of folks in the hood take pride in that , but people give newark and paterson these reputations like its fuckin a refugee camp in sudan or some shit. there is a lot of fucked up shit that happens like in any hood and theres a certain kind of 'edge' that hoods in jersey seem to have that makes people think they are worse than all the other ones but I dot know how true that really is, people hate on it like we are some 3rd world war zone...yea, some of the projects in newark and camden parts of paterson seem like that but it aint fair to act like the hoods here is the worst places on earth.

I dont know why but out of state cats always get mad shook in jersey hoods, like they are somehow different than every other one they been to before, and I dont get it. I dont know the difference. I guess its just the jersey mentality or some shit, IDK.

But honestly i dont see wat they are seein that makes it so scary but people always say "OMG IN PATERSON NEVER ROLL YOUR WINDOW DOWN! Dont ever stop at a red light in newark, just make a right on red and keep goin around the block so your car dont stop or youll be done for!" and shit like that, and while it maybe like that in some hoods, i think in general alot of cats get this idea about jersey hoods like they are the scariest shit ever and I dont know how true that is but Im from here and Ive lived in some of those hoods and so its familiar to me.

Lot of people even in jersey wont even DRIVE THRU the city of newark or paterson at all, even on a main street and will go out of their way by miles just to not roll thru, so i guess that says somethin about the vibe of those cities but I think its over stated and people just a bunch of pussies. It aint like its that fuckin crazy if you aint stupid. people just talk shit and exagggerate. Aint no need to be runnin no red lights and shit like that, some people do get fucked up and caught up and robbed or killed but mostly its people from the hood that got bizness there, not out of town kids coppin dope there, theres a good system in most dope spots to protect the custies.

Its just that we got alot of hoods and alot of em are f ucked up bcuz of the riots in the 60s n 70s and the crack in the 80s and the way all the factories n mills closed and shits mad broke down, and unlike NYC, we aint got that whole "re-vitalizing" or WTFever they call it that they do in the city that makes it so none of the hoods are still bad like they was inthe 80s. NY is NY, but here, we aint got that tourism in the cities like out there, and aint got the money they do, so in jersey alot of places never got better, u feel me? So i guess thats where alot of the hatin and fear comes from, cuz people know the BX is 'bad' but they go there and it dont look like the old pictures from the "bronx is burning' era. But they come to jersey and some of the spots still looks like they did in 1988 so they think its like this horrible hell on earth place but its just how it looks. Ill be the first to tell you that alot of the "newark/paterson/camden dont EVER go there" bullshit is just hype from people who just dont know wat the fuck they talkin about.

Buuutt...When it comes to DRUGS tho..yea, jersey is "that bad"...if "bad" means that we got drug markets 24/7 that you cant imagine unless u been here, and parts of the state where you can count on more than one hand cities that you can go open-air cop in all within 30 or less minutes of each other. Thats the one thing, while everywhere you go, theres hoods and drug spots, in jersey its multiplied cuz everything is packed so close together that theres soooo many cities u can cop in.

It aint like PA where everybody either goes to Philly or Pittzburgh, or like the midwest where they either go to Chitown or Detroit. Out here you got your pick, newark, paterson, camden, irvington, east orange, passaic, jersey city, elizabeth, atlantic city, asbury park, trenton, and so on...all of those places, anybody from out of town could just roll the fuck up and find dope within a few minutes of cruisin around. its like the heroin mecca. and then you got the city on the east and philly on the west side....so you really are in the best place in the country you could possibly want to be when it comes to open air dope coppin....

so word up and Salud to all them hard workin smugglers riskin they asses for 2 gs that bring our dope in and keep the hood pumpin out d all day and night 365 days a year....

Im just pointin out that it def aint "a few here and there", bcuz theres so many hoods out here cuz of the population density, theres alot of areas where shit is mad high.

Haha I guess I kinda worded that wrong, I ain't mean Newark had like 5 murders a year or some shit I just meant they ain't down there bangin on white boys and shit like that. I wasnt tryin to downplay it like it aint shit but drugs bein pumped out by a bunch of suckers, more like you sayin that ain't no reason to be shook drivin thru NJ hoods more then any other hood.

My man was from North Philly but his pops stayed in North Camden, I was goin out there and my girl knew this kid from suburban Jersey that had moved to Pittsburgh and told him I was goin to stay in Camden he was all "I NEVER GO THRU CAMDEN YO I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GON PARK YOUR WHIP THERE!" Shit like that actin like I was gettin dropped into fuckin Baghdad or some shit. Mufuckers are just suckers, I couldn't sleep at night without gun shots and sirens I wouldn't know what to do haha. So Camden just reminded me of my hood, but with the wide open drug market like we had 5-10 years ago before this new mayor.

It kills me when people talk about "I would never ride thru ...." Whatever the city/hood may be. How the fuck you gon live your life bein that scared of black people cuz mainly that's all it is. Mufuckers see a couple dudes hangin outside and they like "awww shit, these is some car jackers!!!!" Instead of some mufuckers just chillin in their own fuckin hood

2 grand may be pretty little to us, but in some less fortunate countries, $2000 in US dollars is a lot of cash to them, so it's worth it to them.

Anyways, fuck yeah, NJ #1. People do make it out like Newark is like fucking Afghanistan or some shit. It may not be the nicest city in the world and if you walk down Broad st. you will see the sidewalk is COVERED in empty stamp baggies, but it's not like you gotta worry that you're gonna get randomly robbed or some shit if you're hanging downtown. People are honestly just scared of black people and that's it.

And true shit that most of the urban area never recovered from the 67 riots. The white flight and the black plight or so I once heard it phrased. The urban areas just never really turned it around after that. People still are REALLY suspicious of the police in Newark and I'd bet that a lot of that stemmed from way back during the riots. People don't forget that shit.

If you got outta state plates, you can always try the 'officer, I took the wrong exit, how the fuck do I get back to insert interstate here?' as a last resort and they might buy it if you're wearing decent clothes and shit.

^ That's the problem, I lived in NY for a year so I have NY plates, but I moved back to PA and that's the address on my license, and those cops are anything but stupid, they've stopped me 3 times in the past few years which isn't a bad track record compared to some people. The last time I got stopped was right on 19, didn't even make it in the damn city, the cops there know goddamn well what you're there for :)

I've lived in NJ my whole life and yes the state is infested with drugs. Even 10 years ago when I graduated highschool I counted 68 students out of roughly 300 of my senior class who dropped E for senior prom.
Schools/colleges are infested with drugs. Anytime I have a party or have people over I honestly can't remember one time where it was soley just alcohol. Coke, pot, pain pills, ketamine, etc always seems to get into the bars/bathrooms somehow. It seems everyday I go to buy a pack of cigarettes someones buying a pipe behind the counter (flower pipe for crack) or a blunt to roll, or rolling papers, or screens, I mean I see it at least once a day it seems anytime I go shopping.

Not to mention how easy it is for mostly anyone to get drugs. And something else a lot of people don't mention is steroids in NJ are like part of NJ culture. Go to steroid.com and check how many members are from NJ, its insane. Tons of teens/college students/adults juice. Cops juice, my own fucking parole office told me he juiced. Steroids infest this state like no other state I've been to.

In one respect its good I guess if you like getting high and can control your use. But for people like me who are a bit on the "wild" side is really just nurtures my addiction that much more. We are also infested with soma/tramadol because we're one of the states that can legally order it online with an "online consultation" which is merely just filling out 10 questions then you get your goodies.

So as a resident of NJ I definitely agree, the states out of control. This is also another reason I refuse and I mean absolutely REFUSE to drive ANYWHERE with any type of substance in my car. I don't hide it, I don't think I'll be cool and swallow it if I get pulled over, I strictly do not drive with any drugs in my car. Its a great state to get busted in too lol. But another thing I guess you can take into consideration (besides location/newark/heroin importing) is NJ is the most densely populated state in the US, so it makes it that much easier for drugs to get around too. A LOT of people live in this little state, so that might also just make the problem seem worse than it really is, although I doubt it lol.

All of you guys will probably laugh when you hear that my only experience with opiates involves hydrocodone and codeine, 1 time each, both medical use. I've never touched a benzo, coke, or meth (and don't plan on it) yet I'm talking with you guys about your experiences involving H in a state that I've never even been to. I know that kinda wandered but I just wanted to let you guys know I think its cool as fuck to learn about stuff like this, stuff you can't learn from visiting on your own. I appreciate your input cause it might sound crazy but talking to people and hearing their stories interests me. This is shit I would NEVER hear about at school. I mean ffs, I've seen coke ONCE. lol

I can totally agree, the people that talk bad about those areas sound like the super rich people in my town, they think they have to charge through the hood (not in the suburb but in the city we're near) to dodge gunfire...I'm like just act like normal and nobody gives a fuck, just like any other place in town. If you don't sketch or make yourself look stupid, you'll prob be fine.

btw me talking about those drugs in a bad way isn't meant to be condescending or anything, i just have a family member in some deeeeeeep shit over 'script opiates. like she's fucked her entire life up real bad.

All of this is just coming from some kid in a quiet, southern suburb. btw celebrating 420 a little early so I'm rambling.

I agree New Jersey is most definitely a hub for drug trade. I remember when i was in 9th grade i could get any drug from Weed, to Ketamine to Heroin....
