Dihydrocodeine Extraction question

I want really clean Dihydrocodeine from tablets, presumable Dihydrocodeine tartrate or phosphate, dont think basic cwe is going to cut it.
I was thinking along the lines of the cure for Psuedoepherdrine tablets:-

grind pills, wash with heated nonpolar, actone rinse, extract with anhydrous alcohol and evapourate, maybe acid base extraction to follow with recrystalisation.

But I can not find solubility of dhc phosphate or tartrate in above solvents.

I read somewhere to do cwe but crash out fillers with acetone in the water and evapourate, know this would knock out paracetamol, but what about binders which always hamper push pull reaction??

Any ideas please

I would like to hear if a solution was discovered- I am in a country w/many brands of OTC dihydrocodeine, but most come w/caffeine, methylephedrine and the like which are also alkaloid.

Codeine and DHC are the only opiates you ever want to get completely pure. You sometimes need to remove the APAP from a hydrocodone preparations, but just getting rid of most of it usually suffices. With codeine and DHC, codeine is much more common so a lot of chemical extractions exist for it but not many for DHC. The gist of the extraction for codeine I use is as follows.

-CWE (for bulk removal of filler and aspirin)
-acidification and chloroform wash (for caffeine extraction)
-basification (for codeine base precipitation)
-chloroform wash (for codeine base extraction) (remaining aspirin left behind)
-acidification (for codeine salt precipitation)
-polar wash (for codeine salt extraction)

Now the question is where do the properties of DHC differ which would make this not work. I honestly don't know. I would expect the general concept is still valid, but you would need to determine or at least approximate DHC's solubility in water and chloroform as the salt and freebase.

i think i've got the skinny on approximately what it will take to perform an chemical extraction for dhc from caffeine/etc. (thanks amapola), but i think i'll give a variation of chromic's cwe a go first. i drink shit-tons of coffee anyway, and my first batch won't exceed anything i can't handle if it doesn't work (famous last words).

Yeah if you don't need 100% pure opioids than there is little need to go messing around with chemicals unless you happen to have a lab in your basement.

Someone else on the web claims Merk has one gram of dihydrocodeine tartrate dissolving in 4.5ml of water.

Hey @amapola I can't find info on dhc base solubility, are you sure chcl3 is okay? Anyway I have only ethyl acetate and petroleum on hand and was wondering if they would do the trick.

Couple of years back I used to plug 6 30mg dhc felt nausea so that spoiled the high
