thats how it is for me.
i think the question of this thread applies to using weed to stay off coke or opiates or something...benzos are not a hard drug, they are much weaker and less euphoric than alcohol, so i cant imagine someone using weed to stay off benzos, or vice versa - the drugs are too different for one to help with staying off the other IMO. But since weed mildly affect the same dopamine areas as coke and dope and cigarettes and speed, it helps not only with basic physical craving. but does give you that boost of enlightenment to see how wrong it is to evn crave hard drugs..
of course the problem with this is , what happens when you have no weed? bang you go back to hard drugs. using weed to get off hard drugs is better than nothing , but probably one of the silliest and sloppiest of many other methods [drugs are a quick fix...thats the problem...so using a quick fix to fix an addiction to another quick fix can end in a confusing spiral...regadless of what shrinks tell you about prozac and whatnot]
if you have the time and money, i say smoke your ass off. but most addicts dont. so better to try the harder alterate routes like long walks and meditation, learn to appreciate life without a chemical buzz.
im nowere near this point but i know it is best.
