A friend of mine takes low dose Lamictal and a normal dose of Depakote daily. He wants to trip on HBWR seeds today— problems with interactions?

In the past I have ingested HBWR while also taking lamictal daily and did not notice any problems. I had been taking the lamictal for mood disorder, not epilepsy. To be honest though, I never realized any tangible effects from lamictal whatsoever.

Of course, we can't say this combination is ok, especially with the depakote. There may be unforeseen interactions - Proceed with caution. You may want to consider reevaluating your intake of psychiatric meds before engaging in any psychedelic use. Hope this helps.

Well, the cold water extraction of 6 HBWR seeds either wasn't too much for him or the effects were decreased by his medication. No severe negative interactions occurred.

I will tell him to not take his meds the day before tripping again just in case. He's keen on the idea of trying psilocybin mushrooms for a full introduction into the psychedelic world.

Btw "a friend of mine" isn't something to get around legal issues like a creative "SWIM," it's actually my friend lol :)

GOD I HATE THAT ACRONYM.
I don't think there are any interactions, but I'm not a doctor. Those don't sound like they would interact with each other, but it might make it weaker.

Telling the guy not to take his meds is very irresponsible in my opinion.

Nobody gets put on lamotrigine or depakote for no reason, both have the dual uses of mood stabilizer and anticonvulsant drugs.

If he is on them, it will be for a reason. And if he has been taking them for sufficient time (I am not sure how much time this would be, for either drug), suddenly coming off could be enough to precipitate a seizure.

Many drugs can cause a rebound effect when suddenly discontinued (look at opiates or benzos for example, suddenly cease use of either and a most unpleasant withdrawal syndrome occurs, in the case of benzos, which are anticonvulsants, as well as antianxiety/sedatives, the rebound takes the form of the opposite result of the drugs intended effect. Opposite of an anti-seizure drug=possible seizures, if it has been taken long enough or at sufficient dosage)

Lol, 'SWIM', everybody should know by now that won't mean a damn in if one gets busted by the filth, if you ask me, 'SWIM' should stop SWIMming, and drown=D

Thanks for making me rethink that, I won't tell him to stop. Regardless the drugs seemed to work with no dangerous interaction.

I'm always wary about introducing people to any kind of drug psychedelic or not, so I'm making sure he treads lightly.

And about 'SWIM'— yeah, it's useless lol

At his point, at least I have no idea. LSA did not interact badly with them, but then again I'm not sure if they lessened the effects or not.

Also, are you taking pure mescaline, or Cactus tea? Or extracted cactus alkaloids? Just be sure you're not mistaking 2c-x or 2c-t-x for mescaline.

Be careful, and good luck.

I have taken lamotrigine in combination with DMT before, and psilocybin, without any apparent interaction. That of course does not mean it will be safe in combination with a phenthylamine/psychedelic amphetamine.

I wasn't taking it on prescription however, but rather, attempting to ameliorate opiate withdrawal/tolerance via its glutamatergic modulatory effects.
