Opioids subs to come off oxycodone?

Okay, so i've been on Suboxone before, about 1.5 years ago. Was at 16mg/day for 6 months. Way TOO high of dosage IMO. Anyways.. I went to treatment, went cold turkey off 16mg/Suboxone and benzo's at the same time. Detox was pretty brutal but I did 96 days out there and made it through.

Anyways, I've been doing opiates on and off for about the past 3 weeks or so...
I have 8mg of Suboxone in total but they are in 2mg blisters. Anyways, how long after my last dose of oxy is it safe to take a Sub? And is 2mg enough you think? Or would I need 4mg?

I also heard that snorting them is more effective and I will get a better effect.
I am just looking to feel normal (maybe a bit buzzed) but just not dope sick.

I have been doing about maybe 80mg of Oxycodone/day, some days maybe 12mg of Hydromorphcontin insufflated per day. Other days maybe 125mg or morphine Orally and 80mg of oxycodone orally mainly with the occasional use of 120mg of Oxycodone.

Now my last dose of OxyContin was 80mg today at around 3:00PM and it was taken orally "chewed".


So I am wondering tomorrow around 3PM or so if you guys think I would be in the clear to dose 2-4mg of Suboxone. I have pretty access to them at the moment since a friend gets carries. I don't want to go on Sub Maintenance because its pretty much a 2-3 month wait.



So is there a possibility that I just use Suboxone to help my detox, like use subs for only a few days or so?

Any help would be appreicated. I also have 2mg Clonazepam, and about 28 1mg Clonazepam.
 
theres plenty of threads about this. i know for me i had to wait between 12-24 hrs off oxys til my first dose of suboxone. ive been coming off about 150-200mg oc and ive been IVing about .5mg-1mg of suboxone and feeling nice. even got a nod from it. snorting them is effective if you do it right (it has to be absorbed in your mucus membranes) ive never snorted them though. i was always to scared id waste it trying to get a drip like when i was snorting my oc. i would wait a bit longer til you actually felt withdrawal before i took any sub because of PWD. start with a low dose and up more as you need to. so you can conserve what you can and so when you come off the sub you dont feel wd from taking the suboxone.
 
yeah that should be fine but like i said wait til your feeling the symptoms of withdrawal before you take your suboxone dose. if your feeling sick at 10 am it will be safe to take suboxone. if its 3 and you still dont feel sick then dont take it yet. better safe than sorry and have pwd
 
Off topic-Weren't you taking 600mg's a day not to long ago? Nice progress. Wait 24-36 hours. 36 if you wanna play it safe, then you'll be good. I would take 2mg's initially then maybe try 1mg twice a day and taper down from there.

Yes I was on about 500-600mg/day of straight Oral OXY-IR 20mg sbout Spring 2009 -End of July 2009. I was at a treatment centre in Southern Alberta and they dropped me really quickly from 600mg/day to 420mg/day and the next day down to 300mg/day of Oxycodone, then the next day I could hardly walk I was in so much pain, I've never had withdrawals that harsh in my life before. Good thing they kept me on my Clonazepam 4mg/day. But I had to go 24 hours (the whole next day without anything). THen they started me at 4mg of Suboxone the next morning at 7:00AM.

I found that it helped maybe a little bit, but I was still in withdrawal. Then everday it slowly got better, and they upped me to 8mg of Suboxone and kept me in there for a month and my final dosage was 16mg/day. Which seems a little high to me, i'm sure I could have settled right at 8mg or 12mg. Anyways I got kicked off Suboxone for using benzo's, no warning nothing, they just flat out cut my dose out in Calgary from 16mg --> 0mg.

The following Monday I was off to a new treatmemt centre in BC called Sunshine Coast Health Centre in Powell River Northwest of Vancouver. They didn't have Suboxone there which I was disappointed because I was coming off a 16mg/day Sub habit + a huge Ativan, Clonazepam, Bromazepam, and Flurazepam combinations of Benzo.s I successfully completed 96 days out there and returned home, and from the day I got Sober, I was totally clean for around 7-8 months.

O would really like to get back on Sub again, but there are only 2 doctors who can write it in my city, and both of them are snotty and rude as hell.
