Changing your life

Find a new addiction that isn't drug related. I find swapping the addictive behaviour to a healthier outlet, i.e sport or going to the gym regularly. Pick a hobby or something and throw yourself into it.
Without being clouded by the drugs in your leisure time it's easier to commit to something more sustaining relative to a more fruitful future.
Personal successes in business and financial senses coupled with a healthy & regular leisure activity will have you feeling about most things in your life.
With a changed mindset, I'm sure you will find many doors opening themselves that didn't in the past.
A healthy life and needs balance in work & life. If drugs are impeding this balance or equilibrium then it's to consider the extent and necessity of your usage.
What are you doing in 'building stuff' by the way?

Good on you for seeing the need for change and addressing it :)

I second the notion, and mad kudos to the OP and for the value of this thread. I recently got my ass the hell out of dodge, cut all my ties to the wrong side of the world. Back at uni now, loving very second of it.

Your life starts today!

basically all aspects of commercial building and construction management man, everything from ohs to drafting and shit... management of tradesman, roles, codes and standards..

I haven't worked a proper job since 2008. and since then i copped a record, and a habit... I haven't really needed to work but yeah - there's a good 50yrs ahead of me yet... if not more... but hey with my lifestyle my life expectancy should be fairly low.

Changing your routine from waking up and thinking - what drugs can i do today - to waking up thinkin it's time to go work.. hard shit to break out of - luckily im an early riser :)

yeah it has become like this for me too, dude. I am annoyed by how much time I use thinking about drugs, their differences, how to get them, what combos to use.....it's cool and interesting for a while but then it seems a dead end ...in the end. I'd love to be able to use 3-4 times a year and then not spend a single second thinking about it the rest of the year..but this is wishful thinking. And IBIS, good quality heroin is the shit...I agree. First time I took it I knew this would always be remembered a the best day in my life......sadly so.

Explain wind to me...? Take it your not a believer in wind... eh?

hahaha

:-)

And how to magnets work again???

Big ups for you Mr Ibis, hope all works out for you. I think it is important to balance the non drug influenced side of your life and the drug infused side of your life. Good on you getting into some training and education. I have had some lucky breaks along my path to a senior manager, but more education would have certainly assisted me.

Good luck to you and anyone who is taking the first steps into re entering the work force or education

Peace
Bayse

I like your confidence Ibis even though your experience is opposite to mine which i have found unusual.

I am guessing you have never used psychedelic drugs.

+1

Spirituality doesn't have to be any kind of hippy far out stuff (if you're not into it ;) )

For me spiruatuality (with a great help from psychaedelics) are my greater understanding of the world around me and how I, and all of us, fit into it. Spirituality is a very loose term ;)

Mribis, a Couple of months ago I enrolled in tafe too. I started a cert 4 in IT. I too plan to keep doing drugs but have cut down a hell of a lot since I started school.

Even though I feel as if I have gone back in time but I know in the back of my mind that when i'm done I'll have a great qualification and can go anywhere.

It's a little different from not working for the last 2 years.

U guys need to dose a high dose of shrooms:) Thats the first time i experienced spiritualness. Its very hard to explain what it feels like especially when ur stoned lol

Please don't degrade this thread anymore into "psychedelics will save you". They won't. Drugs won't fix any problem, or make you see anything that doesn't exist already. If you have the ability in your mind to change its set, then you have the ability to change your life.

That is all there is to it, no amount of drugs will fix life - Splatt is truly a sad example of this. And in his memory I devote my success to him. A brother, A friend, a Saint and a Savior.

Hey mate, I know I haven't posted on this thread and I hope I'm not out of line, but with what has happened to Splatt don't let it get you off the rails, it's important to hold the job and not fall in to old habits even in tough times. Splatt wouldn't have wanted that and I know you don't either.

Good on you Mr Ibis! Getting some education and broadening your horizons is fantastic.

As Ewan McGregor would say......CHOOSE LIFE!! :)
