Hi I'm a first time poster so sorry if I do this wrong I looked and couldn't find a thread for this and I'm sorry for the lack of punctuation and the bad grammar

I have serious back problems and am prescribed 3 20mg opana ER and 6 5mg opana IR a day I've been snorting about 150mgs a day and wanna cut back and take them orally again I know it doesn't nearly work as well but I've heard it's much safer and won't build my tollerance as much and be as addicting anyway I got some suboxone from a friend my goal is to get back to my regular dosage and take them orally as directed with out the withdrawl from cutting back on the pills how long would I have to take the suboxone and how much per day any plan on how to do this or any information would be helpful
Thank you

Hey Skillz36, welcome to Bluelight!

Have you checked out the Suboxone Megathread?

There's a lot of good information there to get you started. I also need to mention that stopping your Opana and going into withdrawals (something you have to do before taking Suboxone, I outline why below) will most likely cause your back pain to return.

In regards to your specific question, however, a few steps will have to be followed in order for what you're proposing to work, but, in theory, it would work.

First, you have to go into withdrawals from the Opana.
Second, you dose with Suboxone in slowly increasing doses until you feel relief from the Opana withdrawals.

Once you've found your dosage for the Suboxone, you taper the Suboxone down, then stop taking Suboxone, and switch back to your lower dosage of Opana. Obviously this won't happen overnight, but will take some time.

All of this information is in the megathread that I linked above. I can't tell you for certain how long you'd have to take the Suboxone to bring your dosage down (I don't have any personal experience with oxymorphone/Opana). I also don't know how much Suboxone you'd have to take to "fix" the Opana withdrawals, you have to start low and work your way up.

I seriously recommend checking out the Suboxone Megathread, as it contains the steps I outlined for you in much greater detail and with better explaination.

The important thing to remember is this: DO NOT take the Suboxone while still on the Opana. This will send you into withdrawal. You must wait until you are in withdrawal from the Opana before you take Suboxone.

Thanx for the help i didnt know it wouldn't help with the pain I totally forgot so new plan I'll just cut back and wean down to normal dosage the old fashion way any ideas on how the withdrawl will be i've never had to go through it before

If you are snorting 150 mgs of oxymorphone a day then you need some serious help. Do you realize how potent this drug is? I suggest you seek professional help, don't be doing any "cutting back" or "switching to Suboxone" on your own.

I don't know whether to close this thread or keep it open for some more advise.

I think I will close this thread because 150 mg of oxymorphone is a serious dose which can mislead others. You need to talk to a doctor, as this is a serious matter. I don't want you to get any misleading info from anyone here.

SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP!
